  1. I would assume New York City Bus. Thats where the forst 4 batches are supposed to go.

I wouldn't be surprised if it rolled out with the "Regional Bus" name but MTA isn't even totally set up for that so let me not get my hopes up.

  2. That's what I'm thinking, but right now it's at Zerega to get registered. It came with only a blue stripe. No numbers, or MTA logos.

It'll be interesting to see what the text would read after the MTA logo....

  3. HBLR is probably gonna go two ways once in SI, its either gonna go west, or go east to St George as you said. Now, I doubt the line would end up at St George, but there aren't any set plans or anything so it can would up anywhere. Hell, it can end up at Eltingville Transit Center or run down where the 122 use to run (I'm totally blank on the routing of the 122 in Staten Island right now). And no, I'm not talking about the 144, thats still around, and the S89 follows much of that route anyway.

  4. Do you or anybody else have any info on this, I think I remember the North Shore line vividly but I'm not too sure if its the same thing.

There isn't much about it, most is just talk. When HBLR was extended to 22nd Street in Bayonne, and then the plans for West 8th Street came out, talks of HBLR going over the Bayonne Bridge to run possibly on the North Shore line. And thats all its really been, talk.

  5. The North Shore Line, has been abandoned since August of 1953. The Line needs a TOTAL Reconstruction; No upgrades, no track repair. Just a total, 'Start from scratch deal'.

Well, if your putting light rail there, your gonna have to.

Putting anything there anyway needs to start from square one.

  6.

-PATH is a Commuter Line, right?
Ya, PATH is a "railroad" because its a special case under the FRA. Same goes for SIR, thats why it has the title "Staten Island Railway" and not a letter representing it as a subway line.
  7. The R68s are NOT FRA cerfied.Which means that they cant run on the SIR.And if the MTA give SIR some R68s.What will the (D) and (B) lines have?

They can if the MTA does the modifications on the R68/As to meet what the FRA regulates for SIR specifically.

But really, its best to go with all new cars for SIR. I think they deserve something new down there. And it'll be easier because when the car is being built, the stuff that the FRA regulates for SIR will be done right on the spot instead of doing modifications to not so new cars

  8. I would recommend BVE if you don't want to spend your money.

But if you want to buy something, get Microsoft Train Simulator (MSTS) or Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006. With MSTS you get a good Amtrak route, a good Tokyo, Japan route, and good US freight route. And the add on routes are great like the Berlin Subway.
