  1. I'll look into in July. I hear one of the stipulations is that you have to live in NJ for the training. If that's true, then my next step would be to getr a CDL permit by the start of September.
  2. But then if the Lincoln Tunnel were not a reasonable option, they'd have to go through Brooklyn.
  3. Nice. Is it possible to do Private operators' code with NJT Buses? Not that I'm asking to do so.
  4. I stopped by GWB Bus Station and the Bridge Plaza across the Hudson to check out the 11C and 20/84. The crowd for the 11C was huge! Also, I notice the Bridge Plaza is a main trip generator for all buses to and from GWB.
  5. From what's been discussed these past few pages, it might just be a matter of time.
  6. Actually, you're not allowed to do 119 trips entirely south of Journal Sq, so you're still stuck with the 10 along JFK Blvd...although...wasn't the 99S running 24/7 at one point?
  7. My question with Academy is: What's with the 5xx numbers I see on the destination sign? I know there was one sign saying 519 Port Authority.
  8. I have a question. Why is it that Union City has more reverse peak service than in the peak direction? The main exception I've seen to this rule (aside from the buses that serve Hudson County beyond 30th/31st Streets is the 190.
  9. My issue with the jitney is they can be some as hell. When I was fanning the 190, it wasn't uncommon for my bus to pass one of two jitneys along Main St.
  10. I use them a lot, but they're more focused on outbound directions and they don't mention the private operations (jitney's aside).
  11. I imagine a more practical alternative, should NJT ever attempt to conceive a bus map concept, would be to do it county by county.
  12. So, I managed to fan the 197 for the first time to Warwick and back. Rode on 8313 from Willowbrook Mall to Warwick NY, then caught the 22:00 to PABT. The driver pointed out that the transmission kept failing on him through. The further you ride it away from NYC, the fewew stoplights you see.
  13. I wonder if that was intentional. On this matter, in the MTA, I might make concessions in returning the Bx26 to its pre-2010 route (for those who commute closer to Allerton Avenue, and that would be as far as it goes.
  14. And the current Bx7 was the original Bx10 with an extension to 168 St. If I could go back in time, I would have loved to fan the M100 as it was in 1969, along with perhaps the TB/M35/Bx21. I remember in the Bee-Line/CTTransit/etc thread, someone mentioned extending the Bx9 to Getty Square as an alternative to running the BL-1 or BL-2 overnight. I think it would not be a bad idea (assuming BL-1/2 overnight service is eve less feasible), provided between midnight and 5am. It would probably add around 20-30 mins round-trip. Only I don't know if every late night trip (about 40-45 minutes) ot every other one(80-90 minutes) should serve South Broadway.
  15. That's because Broadway along that portion (or at least from 225 to 230th) is wider. But the worst intersections of traffic along Broadway in the Bronx from what I've seen are along 231st, 225th(along the left turn lane southbound), and 230th. I don't think it's a bad idea to reroute the Bx7 and Bx20 via Target, but checkmatechamp's proposal, I believe would be better.
  16. Here's another of mine. The B81. It's basically a local version of the BM1 east of Flatbush Avenue, but with a northern terminus at the Flatbush Avenue station. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=212211713696079447579.0004d6a4bfc06381bb9d4&msa=0&ll=40.630565,-73.921337&spn=0.034328,0.077162
  17. I'll just leave this right here... https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=212211713696079447579.0004d58ba58f5315f948d
  18. The W4 is best left alone. Anyone from the who needs to go to Yonkers can use the 25. Besides, sending the 4 to Nereid and points east means there's no direction link from Bedford Park to South Broadway, which is very important for those who don't want to use the to the 1/2 combo.
  19. In view of the new Williamsburg route to LI City, why do you guys think MTA doesn't have it going to Manhattan as proposed 4-5 years earlier?
  20. I think another one should also be added at Flatbush.
