7 Av is really not having a good day today

    Delays

(1)(3) trains are delayed in both directions while we investigate a report of an unauthorized person on the tracks at Christopher St-Sheridan Sq.

And its a 12-9. Person DOA

It's worse that with vandalism people find it funny and smiling at the same time. A brick was thrown as said on the (D) train around the 9 Av portal. The operator is in the hospital but hopefully okay and user posted the story only to delete his account.

The incident happened around South of Fort Hamilton Parkway.

Ever since the (A) has more R211 sets in-service this month, to add-on, those AA pairs are not seen that often. Maybe if it's just me but I remember on some R46s at Fulton St, you'll see 1 out of the rest of the 46s with a 4-car with a 2 AA pairs in-service. Or that the (MTA) kept that in-mind not to use the rest of the AA set when it reaches said train #. The last time a AA pair was seen or recorded in video was last month, early August 2023.

Yeah that's not true. Rode an AA pair on the (A) this past Wednesday

Wait that's... actually rather interesting that they're doing this. Maybe there's another GO preventing the (C) to run around? Okay yeah I just checked and there's another GO happening.

Maybe it has nothing to do with it, but safe to say it's this.

That has nothing to do with it. In fact most of the weekends when the G.O has been done, the (A) was rerouted via the (F) between West 4th Street and Jay Street in one direction.

  5. Apparently this time the (C) will be suspended entirely during the No (A) Trains between Jay Street and Utica Avenue G.O instead of running to World Trade Center or 2nd Avenue

In Brooklyn, no (A) trains between Jay St-MetroTech and Utica Av

    (C) is suspended -- Take (A) and free shuttle buses

    Sep 29 - Oct 2, Fri 11:30 PM to Mon 5:00 AM

    (A) service runs in two sections:

    1. Between Inwood-207 St and Jay St-MetroTech

    2. Between Utica Av and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd/Far Rockaway-Mott Av, making local stops

Shuttle Bus Free shuttle buses run along two routes:

    1. Local buses make all stops between Jay St-MetroTech and Utica Av

    2. Express buses run between Jay St-MetroTech and Utica Av, stopping at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts and Nostrand Av

    * From the timetable of the (M) train, this line is reduced to 10 8 car trains during the weekday hour to/from 57 St. 14 trains are freed to the choices of the (F) Shuttle and (C) train.

    * Also, the (R) has trips to 59 St being the last one during the AM rush to arrive is at 9:55 AM. Meanwhile, there's a put-in from 36 St to Forest Hills at 12:00 PM. Wonder if they'll keep some trains at the Sea Beach Express tracks to bring the trains back in-service as put on the timetable.

And a (M) at Lexington Av-53 St today.

The AM (R) to 59th Street is not new. That's been happening for years and are usually the overnight crews that does those runs.

You thought single pocket operation on the D at Bedford Park would be a good idea…?

I mean to be fair when they did a similar G.O like this back in 2003 which lasted for like a couple months, that's what they did. And plus the (B) normally does that during the Rush Hour so I can't really blame anyone for assuming.

the (3) had most of the 1900's, 2000 and half of the 2100 series. The (3) was all 9 cars until i would say 2002 is when it went full length and those cars started going to the (7) starting in February of 2002. The R62s from the (4)  started displacing the R62As in mid 2002. The (3) briefly had some R62As from the (6)  before going to the (7). the (3) kept 2 sets of R62As until March of 2009 when the (1) got 10 cars and the (7) got the other half and the last 2-3 sets of R62s from the (4) were sent to the (3)

Few corrections: The (3) started Full Length right after 9/11 and the R62s didn't start transferring from the (4) to the (3) until 2003. The first day a set ran on the (3) was May 9 2003.

it's still possible since they are still wayside signals on the line and it's happening on a Saturday. The 3rd of November would mark 20 years since the redbirds retired. Also The express tracks are available so they can run the train back and forth between 33rd and willets point without disrupting service.

The Express Tracks will actually be out of service between 33rd Street and 74th Street during that time due to structural repairs

This GO is either a cause or effect of delaying the 63rd St project. Hopefully the QBL CBTC issues can be sorted out once that project starts.

Wasn't there a switch replacement in that area recently? Or am I thinking of the interlocking upgrade in 2019

Nah the 63rd Street project is delayed for other reasons.

The interlocking upgrade was back from August 2018 through September of 2018. They did replace the tracks on part of the local tracks at the end of 2018.

As a reminder, we know 4060-4069 was taken out of passenger service at least once, on or around April 5th, due to what seemed to be because of door issues.

Some Reddit users have claimed 4060-4069 was taken out of service again earlier today, including one who said they saw it sitting at Euclid this afternoon.

Another user on that Subreddit's chat thread claimed that the train lost power this morning between 207th and Dyckman which is why it was taken OOS. No idea how accurate that is though.

Yep it's true. Train lost power right near the end of the AM Rush Hour between Dyckman and 207th Street. Took over three hours to finally get the train to Pitkin Yard. When the train finally reached 207th Street there was only limited service because they had to use one track while troubleshooting the R211A. The scene was not good

the other logical location would be TSQ or 34, like what they did with the 63rd street shuttle in 1999… which leads me to believe there is another GO shutting down the Broadway Express tracks.

The (W) is turning at 34th Street that weekend due to the (7) Train G.O

Recently, I've noticed on (N) trains to 96 St instead of the Q via Sea Beach coding, they use their own N route to 96 St via Broadway. Also, all signs have (N) when heading over to the Second Av line. No Q was put, I think it's to avoid constant changing at the last stop (also maybe to avoid sign shortage at the shop). That's on their R46 class cars.

That's been happening mainly since last Sumner.

The (A)‘s main problem is the Rockaways (particularly the south channel bridge which opens for marine traffic all times except rush hours on a whim - 6:20AM to 8:20AM and 4:20PM to 6:20PM). And if you check the schedule for the weekday (A) west of Rockaway Blvd (207 St to Rockaway Blvd) it is not as even as you think.

Yeah them not opening the bridge at all during the Rush Hour at all is nowhere near true. They had numerous instances where the South Channel was open for marine traffic during the Rush Hour.

    1. This year (and next year too), the GO could have ran from December 23rd 10PM to January 2nd 5:30AM, doubling the time that the work zone is available for workers to get more projects and upgrades completed.

You do realize the reason why the G.O is ending at 5 AM on New Year Eve is due to the New Year's Eve Service Enhancements. They did the same thing back in 2017 and 2018.
