  1. No keep him in the A Div! Can't wait to meet Donald.
  2. Its crazy right Now in the A div. Hiring of New T/O and C/R classes are up as well as Demotions.
  3. All I got to say Donald you better get it together other wise your going to have a DAN with your Name on it. The A Div is not hard and for Railfans it should be alittle easier to know the stops. Its a good thing your not in be B Div you be in trouble if you don't know where your at. I can see you on the Fox getting rerouted to the Delta then getting Rerouted to the November Line on a trip from 179 to Stillwell on a R46. Anyway study your Lines and I'll see you on the Road Evaluating your Conductors skills.
  4. You can be a Car Inspector/Road car inspector. As a Car Inspector you work in the train Yards. You will fix train troubles in the barn and in the Yard and may sure all trains are in good repair before leaving the yard for customer service. As a Road Car Inspector you will work at a stationary location along the main line. You respond to any train in your area that has reported defects or been involied in a incident. If a train had a brakes in emergency you will conduct an investigation as to why or verify the reason given. Most likely a Train Service Supervisor will conduct the same investigation as well. Both will RCI and TSS report their finding to the rail control center. Also you can work truck and respond to stalled trains when service is blocked like a person under the train RCI's respond to that as well.
  5. Good luck to all the new C/R's. I'm a TSS in A Div so if your in A Div good chance I'll see you. Now about commuting that's something you have to be willing to do. You get a Pass for NYCT subways and busses they expect you to be on time. They do offer transit check. I commute from PA to Manhattan/Bronx and Brooklyn taken public transit take me 2 1/2 hours. However I cummuted for the last 12 years in various Titles so I'm use to it.
  6. My only Complaint about the SEPTA R7 they should add more service. I wish I could just park in the SEPTA lot and take the train one stop since I'm by the Levittown Station but its every Hour and doesn't make the right connections and sometimes I miss the last train out of Trenton so I have to park at Trenton if I want less stress for my commute.
  7. Once you become a C/R just take any Promotional you feel like taken which is Train Operator, Tower Operator and Assistant Train Dispatcher IF they give another test.. Just as long as your Probation is finished when called for the Promotional title your good.
  8. This is a big deal the Conductor is in charge of the train. They are suppose to be alert look out for the safety of their customers. If the Train Operator fails to make a station stop they have to be alert to activate the emergency brake valve immediately. If a side door opens they have to be able to stop the train. Being a Conductor is more then just opening and closing doors.
  9. Thats if the requirments don't change. I think this Tower Exam is nothing more then a money maker. The last Exam they called only acouple of classes with the last class half sent back to thier former titles since Tower Operators been removed from Most A Div locations. Soon Tower Operators will only work the B div and 7 Line.
  10. Nope the Crewoffice get mess with your personal Life and the TSS's well they talk to each other about who the trouble makers are and will just keep monitoring you because your in everyones butcher book.
  11. Hey Donald when you coming out? Can't wait to meet all the new A Div C/R's
  12. They got a new classing hitting the Road this week in A Div. When I return Next week I'll see what the deal is.
  13. You do not want to be cought riding in a cab off duty. You can be removed from service.
  14. Congrats to everyone that been hired as new C/R's.
  15. "That man is sick" if I only had a doller for everytime I heard that.
  16. No not hard at all I just have to demote myself by May 1,2012. I get all my seniority back which is going on 7 Years. My Hourly rate is .80 lower an Hour from a T/O. Even new T/O's make more then me right now since Supervisors been working without a contract for 2 Years.
  17. ANY late train is a big deal on ANY line. However when they need extra service on the local and reroute they charge it to whatever incident caused it. When you have Late trains because of conjustion its a problem that has to be addressed.
  18. Yeah there suppose to be a lot of T/O's and C/R's going out. I'm still thinking about sliding back to the T/O position because of the Money. I'm paying for a morgage and a COOP this pay cut is hurting me.

  20. Yeah almost all will run Exp from E180 TO Gun Hill then discharge. They gone back to this since the Mgt on the Line took over the back in Aug. This is to cut down on daily congo line into Neried and Late Trains.

  22. Yeah those books are helpful. Like you said only school car has them. Most of us in the field don't have them.

  24. Most employees don't have a copy they look it up as they do thier OT slip in the T/D Office. I guess it depends on the TSS but I wouldn't be able to help you on it since I don't carry that.
