  1. Today I rode in both the pilot R142 set and the pilot R160 set, back to back. Rode in 6306 - 6310 on the and then 8713 - 8717 on the .
  2. Wouldn't they send a rescue train behind the disabled train and evacuate passengers that way rather have passengers walk on the tracks? I was on an train that crashed into an tree branch on the Sea Beach and got disabled and they sent a rescue train right behind it and we had to walk though the cabs (Both trains was R160s) to get to the rescue train.
  3. Not surpised the R46s reliability went down as soon as the R211s, their replacements, started coming in. I expected this to happen.
  4. To make service because they are lacking a spare set to make up an full train of the same set. They probably rather have mixed sets to make service rather than missing runs.
  5. What an miserable weekend to ride the subway in Brooklyn, and long headways on the lines with no G.Os ( and with no service in BK).
  6. Yeah, I refuse to believe only a "handful" of routes in the BX went up in ridership. Buses stay crush loaded in the BX and half of the time ppl board though the rear without paying.
  7. Tweet about new trains for the Danbury and Waterbury branches, I wonder if these will be locomotive hauled coaches or DMUs.
  8. Found this tweet while looking for something else, lol
  9. 4060 - 4069 is back in service after being reported OOS a few days ago.
  10. I wish the B8 had short turns that start at Nostrand Ave heading towards Brownsville in the PM Rush. Not seriously suggesting this, just wish this was the case for my selfish busfan reasons I was fanning the B44 SBS and had missed three bunch up B8s, there was one at Flatbush Ave and Foster when my 44 had gotten to Nostrand and Ave D, but I figured it was gonna be crowded so I just stayed on for one more stop to take the B103 home and called it an day.
  11. I think the blue walls is so they can work on the station without flagging on the line. The line stops getting renovated the train has to pass though the stops at an restricted speed where's the train just slow to 15 MPH then resume normal speed like it's an battery run.
  12. The ads were working in the car behind it, I didn't check the other eight cars in the consist. I don't know why they weren't working. The lights were working, just the ad screens were off.
  13. 4078 digital ads aren't working, all the screens in that car are blank. I ran into the R211 three times now without going out my way to look for them. I also been on all three active sets.
  14. 4187 is the swing bus at Rockaway Parkway and it does NOT have an farebox. Safe to say that bus got demoted to swing duty.
  15. Cause the terminates at Bedford Park using single pocket operation, so I thought the would as well.
  16. To my surprise, they are relaying trains at Bedford Park rather than terminating all trains on the middle track. For those who don't know, 205th is closed for most of August so all trains are ending at Bedford Park.
  17. There's a new automated PSA announcement on the tech trains telling riders there is over 100 accessible stations in the system and go on to mta.info to find out their status. I don't remember it word for word but it's something similar to what I said, it's done by an new woman, not the usual lady who does the PSAs on the NTT
  18. Yea NICE is awful lol. Earlier this summer I rode an NICE Gillig on the N23 where the A/C wasn't working, B/O had the little fans on in the front of the bus
  19. Yesterday I rode an 2022 XD40 from ENY on the shuttle, ice cold A/C. Rode another 2022 on the B42 right after, trash A/C and the engine was giving off heat inside the bus. I put my hand under the vent barely any air was coming out. So annoying that in 2023 the MTA bus fleet doesn't have consistent A/C in every bus. It's literally hit or miss weather you would will get good A/C on an MTA bus SMH.
  20. The A Cars motors aren't powerful enough to move the train by themselves. So the B cars have motors too. Dead motors seem to be common in NYCT cars with both the SMEEs and NTT, for that reason alone having only the A cars be powered isn't a good idea IMO.
  21. Seems like bus time is not working, buses aren't tracking on the transit tracker app nor the mta website..
  22. I had an hot car on an CI R46 last summer, all my 75FT hot car experiences have only happened on CI yard routes over the years, both R46 and R68/68A. Never had an hot 75 ft car on an Pikin or Concourse car. Still not as common as R62A hot cars, in my experience at least. R46 & R68 hot cars Happened a total of four to five times over the 25 years or so of riding the subway to me, 62As it happened so many times I lost count
  23. The OP is coming up blank, is whatever OP posted is not showing for anyone else?
  24. I don't think the general public cares that much, they just want reliable service and decent A/C, which from the public POV, the 75 FT cars offers. As an passenger (not a railfan) what is their to complain about in regards to the older cars in the B div. In regards to the equipment in the current fleet overall, only thing riders complain about AFAIK is is the frequent hot cars on the and lines.
  25. Today for the first time, I caught the R211 without going out my way to look for it, was the first train to show up while I was waiting for an train. Both R211 sets met at High Street, 406x set was going N/B while 407x set was going S/B.
