Seems like a question for HR or the union...

Absolutely not, any important that requires wayside access will need service disruptions on some level. You can’t replace tracks, signals, 3rd rail, or make many other repairs with trains operating through the area. It’s just not possible.

Too expensive and failures of the PSD could require trains to by-pass whole stations if doorways failed to function. Imagine, even if for just a few trains, having all N/B and trains by-pass 42nd St because one or more doorways were n the platform won’t open?

Not gonna lie, being able to take an El train down 5th Av would be awesome. I live in South Slope near Prospect Av and the 5th Av El had stops at 16th Street and Union Street, near my favorite bars. That and the idea of riding R39s is awesome.

I wonder if they'll start putting up warning posters on devices on the platforms w/ the columns stating, for example: "Please do not stand close to the platform with your devices, we want you to be safe"
That’s not a bad idea, but my experience has been that people have issues when they get on or off the train.

I had them (left them in my pants when I washed them) and I never had a problem but, I’ve ways like the newer Apple headphones. I did however, spend about a half hour searching the roadbed once for a single Samsung ear pod thing, so I can’t say it’s just an Apple thing.

What I can't figure out is why people are standing so close to the platform edge to begin with...
I don’t work for the MTA but, where I work, most of the phones, wallets, glasses, air pods, and other such items I’ve retrieved, are usually dropped when getting the on or off the train.

PATH currently have an additional 72 PA-5 on order. How many A cars and how many B cars are included?

No A or B cars, they will all be C cars (there are no B cars on PATH). PATH has more than enough A cars.

Lol we’re spending the same amount of money on carpet replacement as we did on writing this transformation plan
Have you ever priced out wall to wall carpeting? It’s the consultant reports that are over priced.

That was an old South Brooklyn Railway/BMT crane. It has since been scrapped.

I usually use the OMNY reader at Fulton Street on the way home if I know I’m heading right home and won’t need a transfer. I’ve used my debit card a few times and my phone many more times since it’s usually in my hand or shirt pocket. I can’t wait for it to expand and include transfers, monthly or weekly passes.

Even though they are both MTA jobs, it’s like quitting Pathmark to work a Key Food. Everything will start over when you go to NYCT and you won’t be paying into Railroad Retirement anymore.

It is possible to take power while holding a brake. A standing brake test involves dropping your straight air to 30lbs and taking 2 points of power. If the train doesn’t move, your brakes are good. Sometimes when you need to make exact movements when spotting a train, you hold a brake so that when you knock off power, the train will stop on a dime.

The only station I can think of where a new crossunder would be useful is Bergen on Culver. Most — if not all — Manhattan bound riders transfer to the at Hoyt regardless of their destination, as you really have to ride to Smith 9th before you have a convenient crossover to the (Carroll has, but it’s at the extreme end of the platform, a good distance from where the stops). Putting one in at Bergen would allow a convenient connection — and could be done with little construction impact on traffic, as the LL is OOS.
At the very least, an out of system transfer between sides would be appreciated.
An underpass at Bergen Street would be a total waste, way too many stairs when you can just go to Carroll Street.

Yes, and some are actually stopping at every green signal.
Was the “green” signal flashing?

Just do not hold y'all breath waiting now....
They got lots of work to do i say 2022 at least for the Queens Blvd Line.
I see they are building a relay at Kings Highway for the F so im guessing CBTC will be in effect from Jay to Stillwell on the Fox.
I think it’s only Church to Stillwell. Church to Carroll got new signals with the Culver Viaduct project and I don’t think they are CBTC ready. North of that is infamous Bergen interlocking which I’m sure you know, sucks in the worst way possible. Jay St is still and old US&S plant which will take a lot of work to upgrade.

My list number is around 288X, I got a letter back in February to come down. I never responded and yesterday I got another letter to come down this week. Is that unusual, to get two letters?

Why this fantastic site hasn't a PATH section forum? The PATH has an average weekday ridership of 270,000 and run 24 hours a day and 7 days a week !!!
I think that it should be very interesting to have a own PATH section forum or a PATH / New Jersey Transit forum. Is it possible ? Thank you for the possible reply.
Not enough PATH topics to warrant its own forum.

Got a letter in the mail with weekend, my list number is in the 2880’s. Paper work said to come down on February 27th. Looks like I’ll be passing on this as it’s over a 50% cut in pay.

Help with Redbird Rollsign

That’s an end destination sign, it would have been backlit with regular incandescent bulbs. Regular household bulbs or a warm LED equivalent bulb would look the best.
