I'm all for some NYCHA-style justice. Let them kill off their own population.
Watch out, someone on here may say that your "project bashing" or some BS like that.

Once again, two dudes were fighting on the platform at 75th St on the . One of them ended up falling onto the tracks. Luckily their wasn't a train approaching. He was able to get back up. Thats what happens when you have bloods, crips, and patrias all on the same platform...
When savages fight each other, society wins.

When are they taken out for practice? Late nights?
They go out either during the mid day or midnights but they need permission from Comand Center. Meaning that even if it's 02:30, if the road is messedup they may not be allowed out.

Oh, so they're only like classrooms! I thought they learnt how to drive those types of cars in them.
Why would they use them to teach new employees how to operate equipment that's no longer used? Plus, almost all of the school cars can't move under their own power since parts have been taken from them.

Stupid question,
What are school cars?
There retired cars where new conductors and train operators have their training classes. Soon they will all be replaced with classroom space in trailers and the subway cars will be scrapped.

There are eight pairs of Slants left on property: two pairs (four cars) at Concurse, one pair (two cars) at Rockaway Park, and one pair for the transit museum.
And some of the school cars will soon be gone.

Question do you think the GOH program even though necessary kind of ruined the looks of the R32-46 cars?
I don't think so with the redbirds since not much was changed appearance wise other then the paint scheme. But I did think it killed the look of the R40M and R42s, the R40 slants already looked like crap and GOH made them look better. The R44/46, they came out looking ok, the only thing they really lost was the blue stripe.

Would you say the same for Redbirds, R44s, and R38s?
Yes, unless there pre GOH photos. Hell the R44s just came out of service and are not even officially retired as a car class. School car still has to break in new T/Os on the R44s just in case they see service this summer.

I done CBTC'd the
Well now, did you make your first trip in manual as required? Also, was your train operating in ATPM or ATO?

I always thought that to be a t/o, you must have some patience. For ex when some t/o's go through a turn they abide by the speed limit but two cars or so before the resume speed marker they put the train into full throttle. Doesn't that affect the rails or flanges?
Going fast through a switch beats the sh*t out of the rails and if it becomes a big problem, they will start putting timers in the area. Sometimes, the even send out a TSS with a radar gun to get trains going too fast.

I was in the last car on the heading N/B when the t/o raced through that switch between Bergen St and Jay St. Everybody in that packed car went flying, I thought the train was going to derail. I mean from the sounds the wheels made as it hit the switch was unforgettable.
TSS are going to start banging guys in for that. There's a reason why the switch speed is what it is and what's the point to going so fast, get to the terminal early?

yea but isnt that a bit too much zoom for the subway stations?
Way too much zoom. Sometimes I don't even like my 35mm lens, but I can get great shots with almost no light so I can really hate it.

Usually though, they just scare the shit out of the kids. It's the funniest thing to watch.

The kid doesn't get the ticket if they're under 16.
Ok, then it goes to the parents. I have seen kids under 16 get stopped for that and the cops either take them in or they take their info.

If you're under 16, can you get a ticket for hopping the turnstile?
I think so, if not it goes to your parents and they have to pay the fine.

What lens do you use now? The Stock lens that came with my Nikon is an 18-55mm so I wouldn't want a 55mm lens no matter how well it does in low light because it would be like zooming in all the way for every shot. I have a 35mm lens that does great in low light, try finding a Cannon lens like that.

I'd go with the D3000, I have had it since the early spring and I haven't had a problem with it. I have 3 lenses for it, an 18-55mm that came with it, the 55-200mm, and a 35mm that I use for low light shooting. If your new to the DSLR game, it's a great camera to start with. I almost got the D5000 but I don't need to have vedio on the camera. If your going to do video, do it right and get a real video camera.
if you want some examples of photos taken with a D3000, follow the link to my flickr. Everything has been shot with a D3000 except for a few very old ones taken with a P&S.

I saw trains last night on the Sea Beach line, they were all buried in snow and had people on them who didn't want to leave because they had no where to go. Sea Beach service will be f**ked up for a while.

lol. What makes him so significant?
If you don't know him personally, you wouldn't understand. He has worked everything, from SBK to all the Museum cars and he knows his stuff. He's a good friend of mine and even though he has been retired for some time now, he is better then any T/O school car could ever hope to create.

It's a fan trip, they used to do them almost every weekend in the 70's with whatever equipment they could get their hands on.

It's like flipping a coin with me, sometimes no but sometimes yes. And it's not just White Castle burgers, all their food is like that, once I ate just fries & mozzarella sticks and got the same messed up stomach.
TGIT
The only fast food that will exit like clock work is the sausage, egg, and cheese McGriddle. After a half hour, it's leaving no matter what. Other then that I can eat anything with out a problem (for me, others may want to grab escape hoods).
