  1. Once again, two dudes were fighting on the platform at 75th St on the (J). One of them ended up falling onto the tracks. Luckily their wasn't a train approaching. He was able to get back up. Thats what happens when you have bloods, crips, and patrias all on the same platform...

When savages fight each other, society wins.

  2. Oh, so they're only like classrooms! I thought they learnt how to drive those types of cars in them.

Why would they use them to teach new employees how to operate equipment that's no longer used? Plus, almost all of the school cars can't move under their own power since parts have been taken from them.

  3. Question do you think the GOH program even though necessary kind of ruined the looks of the R32-46 cars?

I don't think so with the redbirds since not much was changed appearance wise other then the paint scheme. But I did think it killed the look of the R40M and R42s, the R40 slants already looked like crap and GOH made them look better. The R44/46, they came out looking ok, the only thing they really lost was the blue stripe.

  4. Would you say the same for Redbirds, R44s, and R38s? :(

Yes, unless there pre GOH photos. Hell the R44s just came out of service and are not even officially retired as a car class. School car still has to break in new T/Os on the R44s just in case they see service this summer.

  5. I always thought that to be a t/o, you must have some patience. For ex when some t/o's go through a turn they abide by the speed limit but two cars or so before the resume speed marker they put the train into full throttle. Doesn't that affect the rails or flanges?

Going fast through a switch beats the sh*t out of the rails and if it becomes a big problem, they will start putting timers in the area. Sometimes, the even send out a TSS with a radar gun to get trains going too fast.

  6. I was in the last car on the (F) heading N/B when the t/o raced through that switch between Bergen St and Jay St. Everybody in that packed car went flying, I thought the train was going to derail. I mean from the sounds the wheels made as it hit the switch was unforgettable.

TSS are going to start banging guys in for that. There's a reason why the switch speed is what it is and what's the point to going so fast, get to the terminal early?

  7. I'd go with the D3000, I have had it since the early spring and I haven't had a problem with it. I have 3 lenses for it, an 18-55mm that came with it, the 55-200mm, and a 35mm that I use for low light shooting. If your new to the DSLR game, it's a great camera to start with. I almost got the D5000 but I don't need to have vedio on the camera. If your going to do video, do it right and get a real video camera.

if you want some examples of photos taken with a D3000, follow the link to my flickr. Everything has been shot with a D3000 except for a few very old ones taken with a P&S.

  8. lol. What makes him so significant?

If you don't know him personally, you wouldn't understand. He has worked everything, from SBK to all the Museum cars and he knows his stuff. He's a good friend of mine and even though he has been retired for some time now, he is better then any T/O school car could ever hope to create.

  9. It's like flipping a coin with me, sometimes no but sometimes yes. And it's not just White Castle burgers, all their food is like that, once I ate just fries & mozzarella sticks and got the same messed up stomach.

    TGIT

The only fast food that will exit like clock work is the sausage, egg, and cheese McGriddle. After a half hour, it's leaving no matter what. Other then that I can eat anything with out a problem (for me, others may want to grab escape hoods).
