  1. I'm assuming this will be a shutdown that will last for some time, possibly months if not longer.

    (B) runs as usual from Bedford Park Boulevard and 145th Street and has a split south terminal (alternating trains) of 2nd Avenue OR Chambers Street (E) station.

    (D) runs via Culver Line south of Broadway-Lafayette via Culver Express to Church Avenue to Coney Island, through there and then running regular route to 36th Street, where it terminates.

Sooo.... a (D) running from Norwood to Brooklyn via (F) line after W4 all the way to Coney Island where it doesn't terminate but continues to 36th St Brooklyn. What do passengers do to access the 6th Av Line? You have no service plan for northbound service along the West End and 4th Av lines to provide 6th Av service.

    (B) Continental to 2nd Av via (F) line after W4.

    (D) Norwood to Coney via Culver runs via (F) after W4.

    (N) Astoria to Coney via (R) line.

    (Q) Runs between Coney and 36th St via West End.

    (J) Jamaica to Marcy Av. (Z) suspended.

    (M) runs between Essex St and Coney Island via Brighton

    (S) between W4th and Grand St, and for stops bypassed.

  2. Time for something a little more reasonable:

A tornado/water spout has torn through the Manny B and Willy B, rendering all 6 tracks unusable. Reroute away.

    Lines affected: (B)(D)(J)(M)(N)(Q)(Z)

    (B) Continental to 2nd Av via (F) line after W4.

    (D) Norwood to Coney via Culver runs via (F) after W4.

    (N) Astoria to Coney via (R) line.

    (Q) Runs between Coney and 36th St via West End.

    (J) Jamaica to Marcy Av. (Z) suspended.

    (M) runs between Essex St and Coney Island via Brighton

    (S) between W4th and Grand St, and for stops bypassed.

  3. Next:

A water main break just north of Duffy Square (47th where Broadway and 7th Avenues cross over) is playing havoc with the Broadway-7th Avenue lines.  Trains can use Times Square to cross and enter, but that station is closed to passengers and other area stations are closed on the Broadway and 7th Avenue lines up to 54th Street (crossovers can be used, however).

At the same time. switching issues coming off the Willy B have made it so trains can't go into the center track at Essex Street from the Willy B AND any train entering Essex Street from the Willy B MUST go via 6th Avenue (trains coming from Nassau can come into Essex on the middle track).  A separate issue just north of 2nd Avenue on the (F) has make it so trains can't go north of there (this doesn't affect trains coming from Essex off the Willy B, which can get to the 6th Avenue line).

    (1) Runs between 242nd and 96th St, and between 34th St and SF.

    (2) Re-routed via Lexington Av Line.

    (3) Runs between 148th St and 72nd St (Southbound 3 trains will stop on the N/B exp track at 96th St running exp to 72nd St,then relaying to run local back uptown. Second section from Penn Sta normal service to Bklyn.

    (J) regular service from Jamaica to Myrtle.

    (M) normal.

    (F) runs via (A) N/B, regular service S/B.

Shuttle buses provide service from 2nd Av to Bway-Lafayette, 149th St G.C to 135th. Since theres a water main break there probably isnt traffic allowed in the vicinity of Times Sq and 54th St. Also buses provide service to those stops south of Essex St

  4. (S) train stalls on northbound track at Broad Channel. Where do the (A)(S) go?

Send the (A) to Rockaway Park instead of Far Rockaway, have the (A) wrongrail on the Rockaway branch as well as have the (S) run from Far Rockaway to Beach 90th via Hammel Wye or shuttle buses will provide service from Broad Channel to Far Rock

  5. Mhmm...I would have S/B (F) run from 179th to Coney via Crosstown, with some (F)'s running to 2nd Av to ease congestion.

N/B originating Coney Island to 179th via Crosstown as well and to ease congestion select run via Brighton,West End,Sea Beach Exp.

Shuttle Buses run between 2nd Av and Bergen St for (F) stations. As well as WTC & Broadway Junction for (A)(C).

    (A) 207th-WTC/Chambers St. On the Brooklyn Queens side (A) normal from Queens stations through Broadway Junction.

    (C) suspended so (A) is local.

  6. .I will hopefully go to the 71 Av station to take pics and vids of them. I know it may be a better idea to go to the middle of the route but I probably won't have time. This may be the last time the R32s will operate on Queens Blvd in revenue service. This is a foamer's dream.

Where were you years ago when there were 32's,40,42's on the QBL. If you wont have time just check out youtube. Theres a rare occurrence of R-32's operating on the QBL when the (C) or and (A) gets re-routed via 53rd St due to activity at 59th or north of that. This is not even close to a foamers dream. It hasnt been that long since there were 32s on the (R).

I'm checking tomorrow regardless. I don't see why they would suddenly cancel it.

We all know things happen and life goes on. Good luck anyways.

  7. R32's used to run on the (R) EVERY DAY (in fact, they were based out of Coney Island Yard, so were almost always the sets that went into service at 59 St after running up the Sea Beach middle, so they were always easy to catch). We also had R32's on the (A)(B)(E)(F)(G)(N)  (Q)  (V) and (W) -- there was a time when they were actually the MAJORITY of the active fleet! I wonder how many of you were alive yet when the Redbirds were still running in regular service?

This is why I haven't ridden the R188 yet. I know it isn't going anywhere so there's no point in going out of my way to hunt it down when I KNOW it'll be all over the (7) line for at least the next 20 years.

As for those of you camping out at Continenal, maybe if you ask nicely one of the dispatchers will check the sheets and tell you exactly what interval the next R32 is making (remember, those car numbers are in the 3000s) so you don't have to waste your whole day.

I remember it except the 32's on the (G) but nontheless as you stated they were "easy to catch". Redbirds hated em but rode em since grew up by Woodlawn on the (4) line. And same here have yet to ride 188's. I'm just puzzled some people go bananas over things that occur once in a while as if they haven't had enough(which I'm not talking about the R-32 (R). But the 32 (A), & the 68/A on the (N)(Q) seems overrated even the R-62 (1) appearances are. But seriously camping.....guys 5 years ago....some even shorter for other things,

@Snowblock Before the 160s came how many R32s were assigned out of C.I yard? I remember seeing them on the (N) a lot but they also ran on other routes from C.I yard.

Plenty enough my friend. They were on the (N)(Q)(R) pretty much everywhere except the Eastern Division (J)(M)(Z) pre-160's.

  8. Makes me wonder...where were you guys 5 years ago when this wasn't rare. 32s on the QBL (E)(F)(V)(R)(A) etc. Oh thats right some most of you were foaming over 160's that are going to serve for the next 35+ years and forgot that older equipment was being scrapped and moved because you were so fascinated by something that became the norm and now camp out for something "rare" such as 32's on the (A),68/A's on the (N)(Q). Good luck anyways.

  9. My point was missed. I didn't read the R-179 contract order when I posted before. I had thought the 179's were going to be in 5 car sets with 50 4 car sets(to replace the R-42's). As I stated if the order was 5 car sets it would make sense for the R-179's to goto Jamaica which could had bumped all the R-46's to the (A)(C) exclusively this potentially making the (C) full length. Why Jamaica due to QBL getting CBTC supposedly in the future. Now I have understanding of the 179 contract being 4 car sets my posts are invalid and I said I was mistaken. My apologies for the confusion.

  10.

The C can't run R46's. The R179 order isn't large enough to accommodate 600 foot C trains. If QBL CBTC is ready to go before the R211's are in, the Jamaica R46's will have to go to Coney Island in exchange for more R160's. Fresh Pond, by the way, is a yard, not a maintenance shop. Cars are assigned to maintenance shops, not to yards. No cars are assigned to Fresh Pond.

    50 isn't even divisible by 4!

I said I was mistaken for 50 cars to being 4 car sets and the rest 5 car sets. The (C) can run full length hence the R-44's in 2010,R-68/A specials and 46's. Now I realize that the order is for 260 4 car sets its obvious that they aren't going to go to lines/yards that aren't full length of '600 consists. Screw the R-211 for now. 50 isn't divisible by 4...ever heard of spares.

  11. One small teensy-tiny little problem: most of the 179s will be 8-cars (480 ft) long. Unless they're all going on the M to bump off the 160s, they pretty much have to run on the C (that is, outside of the ones replacing the 42s on the J).

True forgot the majority of the order was 4-car sets and not 5. Got mistaken that 50 cars will be 4 car sets and the rest 5 car sets. So squash the idea of the 179's going on the QBL. Guess we'll have to wait and see. But sheesh can't rule out the 179's going to a lot of places. ENY/Fresh Pond can bump 160's to the (C),who knows.

  12. My question to you and VIP is why would the (MTA) purposefully go out of their way to give the 179's to Fresh Pond just to keep the (C) from receiving brand new trains? Wouldn't they be delivered to 207th and then go to Pitkin for their third rail shoes? What would be the logic in giving 160a-1's to the (C) ?

Increase of (M) ridership but it wouldn't be any different ENY/Fresh Pond so ENY can maintain exclusively R-160's and vice versa. And my opinion is nothing against the (C) receiving newer equipment it just makes sense if the R-179 order goes to Jamaica  bumping the remaining R-46's to the (C) making the (A)(C) all R-46 until the next fleet arrives. Why Jamaica...CBTC along QBL in the future and keeping equipment car types in one place. I'm not sure if all of Jamaica's R-46's can supplement the (C) for full length if it can then i would be something good.

  13. The switch lock at Prince St on the (N)(R) going towards Brooklyn is stuck on the Manhattan Bound switch. Reroute the (R), or do something to the (R).

     (R) regular Brooklyn Service/Queens,no service in Manhattan take the (N) or (Q) to Union Sq for the (4)(5)(6) making close by stops

    8th St - Astor Pl

    Prince St -  Spring St

    Canal St - Canal St

    City Hall - Bklyn Br

    Cortlandt St - Fulton St

    Rector St - Wall St

    Whitehall St - Bowling Green.

(N)(Q) regular service N/B, (N) runs between 14th and Astoria (Q) between 14th and Continental to make up for the stuck (R) trains

  14. Is the timer at Franklin and at near Utica S/B on the Fulton corridor gonna stay permanent? I do notice at least very few (A) trains do blast into Nostrand and into Utica at 40-45 MPH but that's it...An Howard Beach (A) that I was on 2 days ago wasn't the timer express when passing through Franklin and coming into Utica.

It's been like that for sometime they clear on the post, who knows though. The one at Franklin clears nearly a car length or so and the ones between Kingston Throop and Utica clear I would say 40-50 feet. Theres another set of timers that clear just as the ones btwn Kingston and Utica they're btwn Chambers and Canal St N/B entering Canal St it can be as high as 35 or so.

  15. I've heard of these! Awesome for someone else to offer some good tips & tricks for route building. It's good to see the stations and tunnels being put to use! Thanks 2 Train! Also, could you mess around with the triggers and timer signals again? I'm done with the 5 (track wise), and am gonna start on the New Lots branch next. You know there are a ton of timers, especially downtown. Would love to nab that perfectly!

Thanks I'm just waiting for the next {updated] release of signals with the repeaters.

  16. If you ever had or have a problem with keeping yout tunnel, track, stations spline or kit aligned meaning straight I have pics to showoff thing that I would personally recommend to insure neatness and accuracte straight station alignment.First off I've been part of the community for maybe the past 4-6yrs first getting TC then TS10 then TS12.I made the NYCT-H line and someother things. Also this was just a tutorial not an actual route.

I use an object off the DLS called "guide" there are several versions such as 1T 3.5m and etc the objects insures us that we can infact lay a perfectly straight or near perfect straight section of track and once in place it can be removed from the route thats how I get neatly placed stations.
