  1. They are going to start CBTC work east of Union Turnpike so the Lay ups between Union turnpike and 169th are going to be moved over to the Express Tracks between Forest Hills and Roosevelt ave. Because of this the has to terminate at Queens Plaza after a certain time.
  2. People tend to not understand this The R32s are in way better shape than the R46s body wise, The R46s bodies are shot, It may not seem like it but they are shot and TA knows this. Numerous people who inspect these cars could vouch for this. The only downside for the R32s is their half cabs and other issues. I doubt they will be coming back and the way these retards act, The R32s should stay retired esp after that bullshit that transpired back in late 2021 when they took the train OOS because of how these idiots behaved. I doubt the R211s would be problematic after almost 2 years of testing. If they Past their 30 day test by April 10th, Then We shouldn't have to worry about any issues. Even if one comes up, They'll have plenty of stored subway cars lying around which would be ether R32s or R46s. They are storing whichever cars are in the best shape until they know the R211s are trouble free and could start sending the remaining stored cars to scrap. Besides the Base order and a small chunk of option Order I going to the / , The I doubt would get em because the is based out of Coney Island yard and could get the R160s. The Could (I hope) can get the R211s but they can also get the R160s from Jamaica. I just hope they get the R211s. The Siemens R160s are probably going to be the first to go since Jamaica keeps mixing them to the point where they had to put a bulletin to not mix the cars and their kinda oddballs even though they are the same type of cars with the propulsion only being the only difference.
  3. Both R211 base and option I orders will fix the shortage. The Base order R211s are the defacto replacements of the R32s that weren't replaced by the R179s and about 40% of the R46 fleet. The Option order cars are the ones that would kill off the remaining R46s. Both Base and Option I is more than enough and would have a surplus of 60 plus cars. Option order II would just be for fleet expansion. They can retire the R46s starting in April or May if they want to since Option Order I has been approved. If everything goes well, By June the will be 50% tech trains.
  4. The windows on the doors are like that because they are the same as the R143/160s. Makes it more easy to swap windows if one gets damaged. Plus it saves money.
  5. my only issue needs to fix is the constant equipment shortages. Thankfully the R211s will fix that. I'm just tired of people getting on others for criticizing the . There are things that they need to fix, Getting rid of shit before replacing them normally is one of the biggest reasons why we have seen service cuts over the years. I hope that ridership does grow because if it doesn't 70% of the R68 fleet knowing TA would be retired by the option order II R211s. also needs to stop caving into political pressure when it comes to subway cars, This is one of the reasons why they killed off the R32s and had to deal with a car shortage. Other systems have their issues but i use this one and they need to stop making the same mistakes that have been done since the 70s. can't afford to keep making these mistakes in 2023 and beyond, people aren't stupid and by NY state and the City trying to force people to take mass transit, They need to up their game. Also I took the R211s today, Not bad but these retards are annoying as hell, I got off at 59th st and went back home. I'll catch it during the week when most of these clowns are in school.
  6. just saw the video, it looks like regular thugs vs that one railfan.
  7. i won't make the first trip but hopefully it'll still be out after 6pm if they don't run into issues.
  8. A 75 foot tech train would be very heavy. That's one of the factors on why they stuck with 60 foot subway cars. 75 foot subway cars don't work no more here. They are horrible at handling crowds and even if they made them with 5 doors, it'll still be an issue with weight. Flexibility is key, 5 car units do visit ENY from time to time for maintenance so its better to buy 60 footers vs 75 foot subway cars.
  9. “[The videos] show he has easy access. No alarms, no security, no cameras, no anything!” “He was able to access anything in the trains, the empty cabins, the train stations, nobody [was] looking. I was so surprised.” “Don’t get me wrong, my son, he had no business doing what he did. But they knew 10 years ago kids did this so easily,” she said. “My son died. When are they going to do something?” LMFAO If they did something, Then she would have said it was racial profiling (I know you have a good chunk of a**hole cops) but there are ones who actually do their job would have been thrown to the wolves. And They used to go after people for doing shit like this. But because of dumb politicians being laxed on the law, This has gotten much worse than before. I hate these types of parents with a passion. When they do something stupid like this beat their ass. I'm not for beatings but when teens do something as stupid as this, then they need a good ass beating. When are parents going to take accountability for their bastards? too many "oh he was a good boy", "he didn't do nuffin", "My child couldn't do such a thing" and etc. they either end up dead or in prison.
  10. When mayor de jackass pretty much cut police funding, ENY R160s started getting hit hard with tagging. The Myrtle cut split didn't help either when they had to store trains on the former northbound side. Before then, The ENY tech train fleet were the cleanest and well maintained pre 2016, they even did a good job on the R32s. They treated the R42s like garbage though.
  11. It wouldn't surprise me, It makes sense due to the and 's ridership plus they are already cbtc equipped.
  12. from what i heard, it was some sort of signal testing There was talk a few years ago about re doing the shuttle again to allow longer cars (probably 4 or 5 car sets),
  13. The only way to stop the idiots from train surfing is by throwing them in jail. We got to stop being soft because of the "they are bored and come from bad neighborhoods " argument. All of the animals who do this for fun are retards. Throw em in jail or some type of boot camp. I don't understand these teens to young adults, so much to in the world and yet they decide to surf trains like retards.
  14. 100 plus cars are built, they were up to 4090 3-4 months ago in that video that just surfaced. once the 300 day test is done (if the train passes) expect to see the R211As come in droves. The R211S should be coming very soon.
  15. This Cut pissed me off to no end, dealing with the alone after 9pm is a big pain in the ass. Something goes wrong, you are waiting 20-30 mins for the next train. They treat Queens Blvd local rider like pure dogshit. Makes me want to move back to Jamaica. Then these a**holes have the balls to push for congestion pricing when they cut service every chance they get, This is one prime example on why people go to cars. They need to figure out how to fix these issues because no one shouldn't be waiting for a train that long between 8pm and 11pm.
  16. the cars look like shit because some morons keep voting for stupid politicians who are laxed on the law and cut funding to certain NYPD departments. Cars keep getting tagged and now they look like garbage even after they are cleaned up. This is the main reason why adding any type of color (like the R211s and coumo R160s) is a bad idea. most of the redone R160s don't even have their wraps no more because they keep getting tagged. Jamaica Takes care of their R160s. The only cars they barely gave a shit about were the R32s ENY pre-2016 had the cleanest R160s in the fleet before they started getting tagged a lot more, esp when the was split into 2. Coney Island started to abuse the ex Jamaica units (9803-9942 group) in the end. I rode one on the and it ran like garbage. Before they took good care of their cars. Coney Island right now isn't the best yard for maintenance anymore. Also the 's R142As aren't that bad, I ride them a lot and they aren't bad, the R142s are decent too. When they were on the Westchester never gave a damn about them. Corona has always been good with maintenance, even when the world fair cars were being held together by tape, they still were reliable.
  17. I can't avoid the since it's the only line that serves my station during the weekends. This shit is going to suck, 15 mins turns into 30 mins. This is why i would welcome the train back on QB because of shit like this
  18. LMAO, The R143s can't run on any other CBTC line since their kits are restricted to the line along with R160A-1 8313-8376. There was one time that they ran one of those R160s on the last year but it was only that one time and i never saw that group appear again on the . You CAN run non CBTC equipment in CBTC territory. I was on one of the trains last week where the CBTC wasn't working so it ran in bypass mode and we had to go at a certain speed since the wayside signals are far apart.
  19. Some of you guys are really showing your true colors when it come to the R211s going to the and . It's like you guys can't handle the fact that 2 lines that have been screwed for 3 decades by getting leftovers is getting hundreds of fresh new subway cars on top of getting it's signals upgraded. Y'all sound over entitled and salty that now the and will get leftovers now. BMT south isn't getting CBTC anytime soon. The majority of the IND is which means lines like the need to be 100% tech trains. The and is better off getting new cars because besides the R179s which is a small amount due to the fact that it had the oldest subway cars (R32s for 2 decades) and the fact that the R46s are the majority of the line fleet. CIY has the R46s,R68 and R68As. When Concourse gets tech trains, Those R68s will go to coney. Coney will get tech trains for the . So regardless of how y'all feel, The and will still be dominated by R68s during the peak hours. Also the Spare factor for R68s would grow due to the additional option order II R211s. Also It wouldn't make no damn sense to give the leftover R160s. The on the other hand is a grey area.
  20. Taking the late night was always a bitch. I remember when i used to head home with my friend after a day of fanning and he would miss the last N4 which sucked (Back then around 2010-2011, The last N4 left Jamaica around 1am and the next one was around 5:30am) and i would have to stay out all night since i would swipe him on the bus since i only had one unlimited and didn't have enough for the LIRR. This how we cranked out those old Super Subway Bros. videos back then.
  21. It's no point in doing it when the cars could retire 2 and a half years from now. It would be a waste of money and the R46s are tired, It wouldn't make a difference. Years ago they did have a plan to send r46s out there to replace the R44s but they decided not to which imo was dumb. But if they did, They would have had to keep a larger chunk of R32s for those displaced R46s.
  22. The work in the 4th ave area is one of the main reason why service is garbage. The is just as bad and when you have trains running express in one direction in queens, It's even worse. Yesterday there was a 30 min wait for the train after one left, I said screw it and took the LIRR to grand central from forest hills. Things like this makes me miss living in Jamaica, I might even move back or live close to it. As for the train, It was to be expected for outages between February and early April since there is no baseball and etc. I just wish they did a better job trying to keep the service like the as decent as possible when they do these outages.
  23. The got the R160s because it shares its northern terminal with the so it made sense that the and share equipment. The doesn't have this issue so it wouldn't make sense to give the R211s unless it sharing the fleet with the and . regardless of R160s or R211s the will have the majority of the tech fleet but it would share with the and since CI would get more than 250 tech trains. The would be the one stuck with R68s while the and would be both R68s and tech trains. Someone will get leftover cars in the end and it's really a toss up between Coney and Concourse. One of these yards are getting either R160s or R211s. People are getting uptight about the speculating but it's not that serious. No one is insulting anyone and as long no one is doing that, It shouldn't be an issue. Railfans are going to speculate but in reality there's really nothing to speculate when the entire IND has to be CBTC equipped tech trains so the and along with the and will need to be 100% tech. It's only the question regarding Jamaica on if they will stay 100% R160s or if they will lose 50% of them and where would those displaced R160s go.
