  1. At one point in time before the 2010 cuts, the MTA had concepts of a few "new" routes that could have been a reality. The Q94, a "super-limited" type of route that would supplement the Q44. It would've went from Flushing to 205th Street during school days(one trip) with all other trips ending at Fordham Plaza with the intent of replacing the x32 with that one tripper, and the Bx50 from Fordham to LaGuardia. The B62 was also going to be a route that went from Williamsburg to Manhattan in a weird roundabout routing via Greenpoint and Long Island City. The Q75 pre-2010 cuts was also proposed to be extended to Queensborough Community College, which would have done wonders at the time.
  2. You can thank that bonehead Alvin Bragg for decriminalizing farebeating. Can't really enforce something that has little to no consequence to the commuter.
  3. Does anyone happen to have the remix links for the "QT" plans? I have the remix maps for the previous local and express drafts, but not the QTs.
  4. Yeah....it's pretty prevalent on some of the Manhattan routes I take every night.
  5. The Q7 and Q10 had school trippers at MS 226 as well(I went to that school).
  6. Which is why I keep telling folks to stop relying on that tracker....
  7. They have more CNG orders on the pipeline that's not published in public materials.
  8. You need to stop listening to whoever keeps giving you bad information. The funds for the MTA Bus order were secured years ago through MTA Bus's capital plan.
  9. Q60 SBS would be pointless with the subway directly underneath the line. The Q60 is more or less meant as a local ADA alternative. Making that an SBS would make that alternative, not a very good one. Q43 definitely doesn't need to be SBS, same for the Q46. Even if they could become SBS routes, they'd need artics, and the problem is figuring out what depot would operate them. Not sure why the Q111 would be SBS over the Q114, the higher ridership line between the two. The Q5 was originally pegged to be an SBS route....until local leaders shot it down, fearing that the addition of bus lanes would kill businesses. The Q6, if it went into the airport terminals, then yeah, I'd say it could use an SBS conversion. But I'm not sure if it's necessary. The Q6 needs artics, that's for sure, but I'm not sure about SBS.
  10. Nah.....with the Q24 and Q56 there. I don't think that would actually help the line.
  11. The Q88, I always felt like it should terminate either at Union Turnpike or Hillside Avenue(just because the turnaround would be much easier). As for the Q112, the one thing I'm miffed at is that they still missed the opportunity to run the line underneath the elevated west of Woodhaven/Cross Bay, especially since accessibility as been a concern with that part of the line for many years. Sending it to Euclid Avenue has me a little....disappointed. Gateway probably would've benefited the Q112 more now that I think about it. The would've contributed it greatly.
  12. The buses are already built. They will be delivered.
  13. And the previous draft as well. It would've gone via Seaver Way, a short stint on Astoria Blvd and right onto the GCP, whereas the Q19 would do the Q48 until Astoria Blvd. The previous draft also had the Q23 using 108th all the way through to East Elmhurst as well.
  14. Only some of those are actually loans The Community/Rockland 17000s and 20000s are actually operated by Community themselves, as they have runs on the airport express. The Suburban MCIs that are used I believe are the only loans Olympia have.
  15. Question about the medical hold. Is there any number that I can call in regards to setting up an appointment or is it better to just go down to 180? I was given an email and a number to call. I emailed but haven't gotten a response yet, and I called, but the number was apparently just for general inquiries and I was told to use the email that I got from the paper that was given to me to schedule an appointment.
  16. Spotted 9199-9200 testing with 9035-9036 and two other cars at Penn.
  17. Nova is out altogether once they exit the U.S Market. MTA is already exploring other options once Nova leaves the U.S market and sticks with its mainstay at the canadian market. The contracts will need to stay as competitive RFPs for the most part. Nope, Flatbush needed buses. They got those when the XD60s were having issues.
  18. I think it's pretty safe to say that a good majority of the routes will stay where they are at. And judging by how this draft came about, I'm also sure the union(s) also got involved, because the previous draft would've had them in an uproar. Fresh Pond can house the B57. It wouldn't be the first time that they've had the line. But right now, it's best not to make guesses or assumptions as to what goes where.
  19. It's because the API was updated, so they'd have to update accordingly. A lot of other trackers had issues when the update for MyBus first happened, and I'm not too thrilled with the desktop site. PTV is getting back into the swing of things, buses are slowly starting to show up again.
  20. Not a big fan of this draft to be honest, since it's more of the old with just some minor adjustments here and there and a sprinkle of previous draft ideas. But, I will say, thank GOD they axed the Q10/Q64 and the Q112/Q110 mergers. There was quite a bunch of ideas that I liked from the previous plan that I would've liked to have seen, such as the Q43 to LIJ, the Q17 between Union Turnpike & College Point(one of my favorites personally), the Q45 flanking the Q43 on Hillside until Little Neck Parkway, the proposed Q78, the Q66 to the Ferry Terminal, and a few more ideas. A lot of what was revealed in the draft, I heard about since August. Me personally, I actually wanted to see the craziness that would ensue with the Q21, Q52 and Q53 terminating at Jackson Heights lol..... Prior to the release of this draft(now that I can actually talk about this), some routes were changed(again). The Q65 was initially going to terminate in the Hollis area and the Q25 was close to maintaining its southern terminal down at Springfield Blvd, but the local community leaders and politicians put the kibosh on that pretty hard. The Q55 was also very close to sticking with the previous plan. Q11 being the sole Woodhaven Blvd route was strictly for cost-cutting. Q66 should've still served the Ferry Terminal, especially now that the Q63 is flanking alongside the Q66. The new Q45 exists as a way for them to eliminate the Springfield Blvd short turns along the Union Turnpike corridor(from what I was told). The Q37 was a compromise with residents that relied on the connection with the , since the Q10 would solely be on Lefferts Blvd. The only reason that it still serves the casino under this new plan is because the casino owners themselves are paying for the service. Initially, there was a plan in which the Q37 would discontinue serving the casino, and another route would take it's place, rumor was the Q7. Pretty happy that they actually added a stop at 34th/1st for the Downtown Express routes. Easily(and shockingly) one of the most logical things to come from this plan. Now, the Q56 is basically the only route that serves Jamaica Hospital. That's not gonna fair well in the long term. They have no idea what to do with serving the hospital. I'm lowkey curious as to how the B57, the Q75 and the Q104 will work. I'm still baffled as to why the B62 is what it is. I very much favored the previous Q72 plan of terminating at Queens Center Mall. That one made a lot more sense.
  21. No offense, but hell no. Make a separate route for that. The Q44 is already long and unbearable as it is, sending it to Fordham was already worse.
