  1. On day 1, Orientation Day, fill out a transfer request to Staten Island. This way they know that you want to go there right away, there will be a very good chance you will get the transfer right after you qualify. They usually are in serious need for Staten Island operators. Don't ask me why a transfer, they will explain (sort of) to you at Zerega. This job/exam (4600) is for Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn. To work in Queens or Staten Island requires a division transfer. I never got an good explanation, something about the unions I think. Good Luck!

Actually Bus Operator exam 4600 is TA which is Brooklyn,Queens, and Staten Island Division the only TA depot in Manhattan was 126th st which is closed now here is the deal if you are TWU local 100 this where it gets confusing you are allowed to pick into OA depots when the GP is held and vice versa for OA operators if you decide during training that you want to transfer to Queens or Staten Island you would be represented by ATU 1056 Queens and ATU 726 Staten Island and you're there until you retire
  2. Wrong

Sorry I new to the forum and I not sure if I'm posting in the the right area . But I recently got call in for the MTA for MTA bus as a bus operator went in at 7:30am to 180 Livingston, and my god so many people where there, I waited and waited and waited finally there called my ticket number , just to tell me that ineligible because of a suspension on my license back in 2015 , but the lady claims in still on the lists and would be able to work in 2018. It this true ?

Also is there anyone I can talk to to start ASAP

wrong area please delete and refer any questions that you may have to the employment section of the forums which you will find at the bottom of the webpage
  3. Anyone able to tell me is transit strict about employment history like for instant if u missed something or are bot 100% sure of the month will they make a big deal? Who ever can help ill appreciate it thanks

if you aren't quite sure the best way to go about it would be to call your old employer(s) ask for HR and ask to speak to someone about employment verification
  4. Thanks for the feedback. Feeling better. Still here waiting. Ive Seen people leave upset today due to License issues.

    sent from my note4

They implemented this rule in March whereas if there is a suspension on your abstract you won't go forward with pre-employment until the suspension falls off of the abstract in prior years this wasn't an issue this only pertains to Buses and not Subways from my understanding

  5. can someone tell me what the difference between ta and oa is in depth please

MaBSTOA the (Operating Authority) sole responsibility is bus operations in the Boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx while New York City Transit Authority (Transit Authority) sole responsibility is bus operations in the Boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and 126th Street Depot which is the only TA Depot in the Borough of Manhattan

  6.

A lot of B/O's I have spoken to say they dislike the traffic checker guys. Not totally sure why, but just thought it is good to know.
most think that the T/C is there to keep an eye on them which is far from the truth and others think they are the cause of a loss of a run or two they are only doing the job that they were hired to do it's up to the public to do their part to keep that run on the line
  7. Thanks man! I'm actually thinking about applying for this since I did not get called for C/R (2008 exam).

Although it maybe citywide, why is it indicated under MaBSTOA?

Second, if I apply to this would it be possible to still be eligible to take a promotion to C/R or anything non-bus related? Especially since I heard you can't do that thru MaBSTOA.. While others says you can since its now under RBO.

Your welcome Mark that's a good ? that unfortunately I don't have the answer to but I'm guessing because MaBSTOA is a subsidiary of New York City Transit they have jurisdiction and TA doesn't have a Traffic Checker title they also do Surveys over at (MTA) Bus Company as well

To answer your second ? I don't want to tell you yes and the answer turns out to be wrong the only good answer I can give you is to call down to livingston street and talk to someone in Human Resources or Call the Business Service Center

  8. From what I heard, they ride a bus and check ridership by counting passenger (traffic) that enters the bus.

Note that MaBSTOA (Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority) applies to the those two boroughs. Which is where you the traffic checker will occur.

Mark Traffic Checking is a Citywide operation and they are located off of Flatbush Avenue Extension in Brooklyn I use to hold that position it's alright for someone right out of High School going into College as it is a Part-Time position they are all over the place doing surveys in all five Boroughs including the Subways & SIRTOA

They are apart of Operations Planning and thus their surveys determine which lines get additional service or a decrease in service based on ridership

  9.

    Two changes.

    1. I wrote "E. 125 St" instead of "125 St." I've always hated the fact when the Manhattan and Bronx signs don't have them, no matter how redundant they are.

    2. I included the "Limited Stops" flipdot add-on that used to be on all limiteds until the late-1990s/early-2000s.

I'll be making an LED version after Finals.

I got your PM i love these signs you have to make me one I tried to download the software you told me about but it takes long
