  1. Smith Haven: Fixed to use Burr, but due to space constraints I'll have to show the paths in a simplified way on Burr, or else it'll become a spaghetti mess with all the turns and the number of routes. It won't be perfect, but it'll be readable. I can revisit it when I improve my software.

     

    7D: Fixed the turns onto and off Montauk Hwy. That Bonney Dr jog might have been a temporary construction reroute judging from pics on StreetView.

     

    Stony Brook: The S60 and S69 have been moved.

     

    S71: Thanks, the schedule map suggested that but it just didn't seem right.

     

    Riverhead: Yes, please let me know. I plan on looking at this area in detail in the next major version.

     

    10D/10E: 10E fixed to not run on Saturday (might not show up right away, but it's fixed locally)

     

    S62: Added the 5A parallel routing as a 'limited' segment. (I usually don't show trips that are only once a day)

     

    Hauppauge: I will do a batch update on all routes through here 'soon'. (the S62 and S54 are also incorrect here)

  2. Also the 10D and 10E are short of one route, which is to say that they are interlined, BOTH routes do not run on Saturday.

     

    The S62 follows the 5A route from Port Jefferson to Rocky Point once during the morning and once in the evening during the week days, however the S62 doesn't follow the 5A when the 5A goes to Miller Place.

     

    The S33 loops around like the S27. You also forgot the New York State Building stop in Hauppauge and the routing at the Dennison Building is wrong.

  3. You can't make a left hand turn from Mastic Road to Montauk Hwy. The 7D use to cut up a side road but stopped doing that a few years ago. Suffolk had made the change to the schedules but may have changed back because some idiot put up a new bus shelter and for some reason put a 7D sign there. Also the 7D uses Turn onto Titmus from Montauk, even though the Schedule, I don't know the reasoning behind this however though I know they have been doing it as long as I can remember.

     

    Yeah the 3D and S71 in Stony Brook are correct.

     

    All Smith Haven Mall (The 3D is fine when it comes to/goes to Brentwood)use Burr road to get to the bus stop. The S58 uses the path as the S56 and so does the S62 when it comes/goes to Hauppauge.

    The S71 uses the LIE now to get to Yaphank road from Sills road(CR101), its a new thing and is hard to tell on the schedule.

     

    You have some stuff wrong in Riverhead if you are interested.

    I've fixed the Smith Haven Mall routes, the S66 at SCCC, the Coram Plaza routing (I think), and the S61/63/54/40 routings at Patchogue. Thanks again!

    For the 7D, can you clarify this? The schedule lists Mastic Rd and Montauk Hwy as a timepoint and the map on the schedule sure looks like it uses Mastic Rd. What route does it take instead of Mastic Rd?

    For Stony Brook, I updated the 3D and the S71. Can you confirm that I got those right before I change the others on the below link? (or does it use the other loop on John Toll? Or am I completely wrong?)

  6. So far I have found the following mistakes on your Long Island Transit Map.

     

    The 3D,S60,S69, and S71 go to John S Toll Drive. The 3D, and S71 going to the Railroad, and the S60 heading to the Mall loop around at the Student Center and John Toll back to Circle road and up to the Railroad Station.

     

    When the 3D,S71 coming from the Railroad station, and the S60/S69 coming from the mall follow Circle Road then turn on Infirmary road to the student union and exit using John S Toll Drive to Circle and out the exit near the Staller Center.

     

    All the stops at Smith Haven Mall are on the Northside of the mall where Sterns was again. The S58 and S62 stop at Smith Haven.

     

    The 7D DOESN'T use Mastic road in Mastic.

     

    The S66 also stops at SCCC-Riverhead.

     

    The S58,S60,S61,and 6A use Skips road to Mill Road to get to the Coram Plaza stop.

     

    The S61 and S63 follow the S54 routing to Patchouge Railroad Station. The S40, S66 and S68 end at the Sixth District Court.

  8. I'd recommend staying on a NJT train all the way to NY Penn Station. Little bit more expensive ($15) but way easier and probably much faster. Buy before boarding! You'll end up on one side of Penn. Follow signs to the LIRR concourse. Use this link to find LIRR schedules: http://lirr42.mta.info/index.asp Read any notices that pop up (if any). I believe they are doing track work near Smithtown and a couple trains are replaced by buses. The page will list any transfers you need to do. If you travel outside of rush hour, odds are very good you will have to change trains somewhere (Jamaica, Hicksville, or Huntington). Pay attention to onboard announcements, especially if you have to change at Jamaica (sometimes you have to change trains by walking through an intermediate train that has doors on both sides open). Buy before boarding! You will get a paper ticket to show on the train. Round trip fares are available. Buy from one of the ticket windows so they can confirm transfer/fare info for you. Avoid the crush of people running for the train when it's posted by waiting in one of the less-congested concourses (if you can see the ticket windows, you're standing in the wrong place). Oh, and watch the gap between the train and the platform, eh? Enjoy! -Doug
