  1. I'm Puerto Rican. Born and raised in NYC. Mom was born in Lajas, Puerto Rico and my Dad was born in New York.
  2. I could be wrong, but I think there's a coast sign covered with steel dust when you go down the hill between 67th Avenue & 63rd Drive in the Queens corridor southbound. It's easy to miss due to the grade and the speed the of the train.
  3. I work on the R line midnights on saturdays, and this general order really sucks. The reason according to the G.O. is they are doing some tunnel rehabilitation between City Hall and Canal Street. They run the N local in Brooklyn to provide more service along 4th Avenue. The D goes express because it has nothing to do with the Broadway line. Hopefully this cleared it up a little bit.
  4. I had the honor of working with Mike. He was a beautiful human being. He will be missed. R.I.P. my friend.
  5. Welcome aboard. To answer your question, it's all about timing. Also your file number has alot to do with picking a job. The call sheets let you know what day you pick. You can ask one of the pick officers if you have to pick. If you don't have to pick, put in a G-2 and request what tour and days off you would like. As a former conductor, it took me 18 months to pick. Keep your head up and good luck!
  6. I could be wrong on this but there were talks about the R line connecting to the Grasmere Station via tunnel from 95th Street.
  7. Welcome Sammy and good luck on the upcoming conductor exam. The test basically tests your reading comprehension. The book you are looking for has a green cover with yellow lettering. The title of the book is "This is your Passbook for Conductor". You can get this at the Civil Service Book Store located at 89 Worth Street in Manhattan. Keep in mind that this book store deals with cash only. Again best of luck to you.
  8. Was there today. It was a slow go from 65th Street to Woodhaven Blvd on the express track. I was fortunate, Roosevelt Tower sent my leader local and I remained on the express. I got past the problem and when I got to 179 Street terminal I was told the problem had gotten worse.
  9. The 110b car shown in front of the learning center, the NYPD uses for training on how to rescue passengers in the event of an emergency. You'll see the other two 110b's during fire school and the rest of them are in 207st yard.
  10. Trainfan22 The R46's are one of my faves to operate. Very comfortable and the braking is excellent.
  11. Hi all! I'm currently a train operator working on the four nights and the only one night. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends. Thanks! Midnite Xpress
