  1. Most likely the HBLR. Which does help a lot to SI commuters.

Yes I know it would be Husdon Bergen Light Rail going to be extended to staten island and using the Bayonne Bridge and using the North shore line and West Shore line but even if the (NJT)/(MTA) exetnded the HBLR to Staten Island s89 will still be kept. I heard that the new Goethals Bridge would have extra space for passenger service (mass transit corridor) and it said it here http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2008/08/port_authority_proposes_replac.html So the they might be also another rail line extended to Staten Island and cross the new Goethals Bridge.

  2. I would actually like to see the M8 come to the Staten Island Railway myself.

It won't be the M8 coming into Staten Island Railway unless the (MTA) order the M8 cars for SIRT but it's going to be the R179 going into Staten Island Railway.

  3. Before the MTA reopens the North shore Line again I think the SIR R44 should test on that line and these SIR R44 are the only one on the staten island Railway. I know why they should the SIR R44 should test the North shore line and west shore line before they reopen the lines and become the light rail. I think that should happen because the SIR R44 are great and watch this videos how the SIR R44 are good running on the line

  4. Cool photos!

I have a feeling a new bridge will have both PATH and (NJT) light rail running on it, especially with the PA5 cars coming into play.

Maybe one side will have catenary, and the other side 3rd rail?

You mean the PATH Train and (NJT) NJT Transit will run on the North Shore Line and West Shore Line. So you meant the PATH train will use the North Shore line and be extended to St. George and the (NJT) will use the North Shore line and West Shore Line and go to Pleasant Plains.

  5. Are all R44's FRA certified, or just the ones on SI? I would keep the R40 and R40 slants on the W to give some 68's to SIR. I'd even give the Franklin (S) 68's to SIR, and use 32's on the (S).

The R68 is already on the Franklin Shuttle (S).

  6. Do you argree: I think that the (MTA) should drop the whole SIR name, and assign a letter, like the P train or something, and make the SIR just another line in the subway system. As well, they should cover up the (NYCT) logo on the cars with the same (MTA) New York City Subway logo.

I don't agree. I think the staten island railway should stay the same. But the SIR should still be renamed to a letter route line like ethier K or H or P or U or X or Y

  7. No... that was probably Photoshopped. The station sign to the right of the train says Brighton Beach which is in Brooklyn.

No train other than the SIR R44s have SIR destination signs.

I know Brighton Beach was in Brooklyn. You know all the IRT subway cars have all rollsign routes. I know all BMT/IND subway cars have all rollsign routes also. I guess you are right about the SIRT rollsign,I guess it only have it on SIR R44.

  8. NOOOOO dont scrap the SIR R44s!!! those cars are awsome!! they go really fast and sound like R40s oh well....

but the SIR is getting modded R179s its already been siad that SIR will get R179s. I dont know where people is getting this Modified M8s stuff from. Its been said that the M8s wil be for metro north ONLY not anything for SIR....

Well if the SIR R44 ever retire the few SIR R44 will be at the New York City Transit Mueseum.
