  1. I don’t think it will take that long. I think when the (6) and (7) resume thier normal weekday schedule the express will return as well. They want to run as much service as they can to reduce the density . The (Z)  however that will take time probably.

For those interested. As of today 5/1 the (Q) has resumed regular scheduled service. On Monday 5/4 the (N) will resume service to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. On Wednesday 5/6 the # (3) line will resume regular scheduled service.

Is there a schedule for when all lines will resume?

They were running all (A) trains local.  I think they made the change to half local and half express because they've been able to increase service in recent days, so there's enough trains to have both local and express service, and maintain acceptable headways at local station.  Trains are running every 20 minutes both local to Lefferts and express to Far Rockaway, so on average that's service every 10 minutes at express stations and every 20 minutes at local stations.  Previously they were only running trains every 20 minutes total, so they had to go all local or else there would be 40 minute gaps at local stations.  There already were at stations out past Rockaway Boulevard.

Hopefully they can get the (C) running again soon, but they'll probably still be running Lefferts (A) trains local for a while, just as they did before the (C) was suspended.

Yes many trains are starting to run much better headway’s.  Subway time shows the (7) running about every 6-8 min or so this morning  also the (J) Is every 10 min . I think this pandemic will end much quicker then people think . At least the worst of it .

At Euclid Av, after 3:10 PM. The proper send-off as doors closed, crews check to see if all passengers were off the train, and then waited at least 5 minutes in moment of silence. As they leave NYCT  with its classic logos and signage for the final time with cheering and applause, an R179  (A) arrived at the Manhattan side. That is as the past meets the future.

The R42s, Gone but never forgotten.

It was not there 5 min after crews checked. It left pretty quickly. It had too as there were a bunch of trains that needed to come in, the next train came in on the (C) track if anyone was paying attention.

  5. Wait a minute they can’t run the (B) express (And then local)  to Bedford Park? Why don’t they run (B) to Bedford and (D) to 205th like rush hour? I don’t see why the

    (B) had to run to 168th .
There are switches at stations up ahead so they can switch back.

I'd rather be at Franklin Avenue IND on my line rather than where Wallyhorse wanted to send "his" (C) train 😀

It’s not so bad if they terminate it on the middle track. As long as they send them out the other way in a timely manner back to Manhattan. But now that I think about it it requires a move to 6th line and a merge with (F) and (M) that’s not so great.

This is where if the (C) is a 480' train, they could have it run via the (M) between West 4th and Essex and then via the (J) to Broadway Junction and terminate there.  That would at least give those in midtown going to points east of Broadway Junction a one-seat ride there and then being able to continue from there normally.

The MTA has an issue that whenever service is messed up trains can never run normally . In this case once they got to Broadway Junction I doubt service was normal. I’m sure trains were not running normal headways. It’s not a bad idea though
