Yeah, I miss it over there. Grew up over there as well, Was looking forward to them reorganizing the districts into BMT and IND instead of South, North and Queens, so I could pick back over there on the weekends, and still have the
on weekdays instead of getting stuck with the 
on the weekends. But they've apparently scrapped the idea. -
Command actually had BW routes like that and others (BQ, etc), even printed on the 1996 express bus map though they were just specials. The routes I have been suggesting are: Q39 replacement, which would run Gates, Forest, cut cross somehow and then Rust/56 Dr to Van Dam, and then via Queens Blvd instead of Thompson. Q18/45 replacement, which would go straight down either 65th St or Pl, and into Ridgewood some way. Probably also Gates, Forest, Eliot, and then Fresh Pond, and Grand. Q58 alt. that would also take Gates, Forest, and then straight across Eliot and LIE to Flushing. Ridgewood surely needs straighter, quicker routes to the rest of Queens. What has to be worked out on the first two is changes to nearby routes to cover current areas that would be skipped.

Here was what I was talking about. I think the white looks better than the amber. I did this one, because it was easy, with each pixel being a solid color. (I see the other ones mix different shades of color for each pixel). This would also be cheaper than a full sign of RGB's (and also more visible than some of the colors), though the white might be a bit more expensive than amber. -

COOL! One idea for the LED signs would be to make the actual destination text white. That would be more visible. The route letter bearing the route color would be enough. As it is, they only use amber now because it's supposedly more visible, and I would use white as to not contradict the route color, and that should be visible enough even if it's not as good as amber. But colors like brown or blue would be harder to see. This is something I would really want them to adopt. It's the front sign I'm trying to convince them on (see avatar) now. Are you going to do buses as well. (They said the sign programs don;t have enough capacity to add colors). -
You might have, because I was still over there a year ago (pick before last). You can even see my profile picture taken on the train at Stillwell.

How are you and KR getting these custom avatars? That's what I intended my color changing one to be, but it doesn't allow you to upload your own, and once I ffound a different way to do that, but it said animated gifs's are not allowed; now I don't even remember how I got to that place. Is this some admin thing, or based on post count?

No, no; sorry. I meant the blank yellow segments for the actual lit letters. Each letter is made from lighting those different shaped segments, and I was wondering if you had a blank "lit" (yellow) template you make the letters on, (with the segment markings), not the black background. I wanted to see the whole pattern.
And this is for the LCD R142 signs, not the LED B-Div or bus signs.
