  1. R62CNG, try riding the NICE bus for the first time. Im sure you do not want to get banned from this site again and again and maybe another?
  2. How did you got banned from BusTalk? Repeating the same/similar questions over and over again?
  3. The first Orion VII hybrids are not even close to retirement. 700 option order is likely mean all RTS and Orion V to retire and add fleet expansion. Lately MTA is creating new local routes and SBS routes in the past couple years. More buses is great.
  4. G line always have a mix fleet R68 and R68A cars
  5. Forget the image that I created.... Your original image resolution is 896 x 177 ?.... just increase the width size. Leave the height alone. Ok?
  6. The bottom image, I stretch the width of the image by about 15-25% ( I eyeball it just to look exactly the real life signs). Thats INCREASE the width. The height is the same. If you already made the template and premade signs done in a advance, it may not be worth the time to redo all together other then use a software to readjust the size of the image.
  7. Yes, the notch. I only see it on the rear route signs on the right notch, not the left. Your Mega:MAX sign is 16x112. It's just the height is little long. You may need to stretch the width a little wider since most of the signs a wider. like that. Same goes for the horizon sign
  8. The Mega:MAX pixel on the front sign don't have the little black space in the left middle area. The pixel design should be octagon shape: http://www.rollsigngallery.com/esigns/esigngallery.html The height is little long. Keep in mind... Mega:MAX has 16 x 112 Horizon has different size signs 16x80, 16x120, 16x140 and 16x160. 16x160 is popular Titian is 24x200. There is a template online for the Mega:MAX and Horizon front side signs: https://web.archive.org/web/20060706065040/http://www.lumivision.info/html/luminator.html
  9. NO, its something much simpler. Another way to identify them that they are ENY buses.
  10. Im not surprise, NICE maintenance just crap out. I have been on N15 to Roosevelt Field from Long Beach where the annoying warning sound went off for 15 minutes. Driver tries to turn on and off the bus a couple times and it didn't go away til it dissipates when it reaches Hempstead Bus Terminal.
  11. If its true, its a bonehead move. I hope its a rumor, because you going to get overcrowded conditions at certain depots. Is 126 St Depot owned by MTA or the City?
  12. Are you sure that MTA is not going to rebuilt the 126 St depot? There is funding to demolish, design and build at the current site of 126 St Depot. Similar situation at MCH, except it wasn't a smooth planning. http://web.mta.info/capitaldashboard/allframenew_head.html?PROJNUM=t6120304&PLTYPE=1
  13. Thats because there is no Manhattan bound service this weekend. MTA always never wanted to increase the B9 service when there is no service outage in either direction
  14. Or the lack of available correct standard Helvetica font number decal stickers which I don't know why they don't mass produce enough for available repainted buses.
  15. When it is about to go dark outside, the blue-ish color appears to improve the visibility of the sign. It happens on the signs equipped with fluorescent tube. Personally, it doesnt make a difference when the buses ages, it is tougher to see the green flip-dot signs on both fluorescent tube and LED back-lit during at night. Just lack of maintenance.
  16. Orion V 6000-6002 has a older Luminator Mega Max w/ fluorescent tube lights, 6003 and up has Luminator Mega Max 3000 LED backlit located on the bottom green dots. The MTA's Luminator Mega Max 3000 rear sign has more green dot per pixel then the older Mega Max. 10x23 vs 7x23 (height x length). Im not sure if MTA has the newer Luminator Mega Max 3000 rear sign that has 10x30 on year 2000s buses. The front (16x112) and side (7x90) signs on both products are the same size , just the night time read out that can be challenging. Pretty much pre-1999 has the older sign with fluorescent tube lights. The newer 1999 and up has LED backlit.
  17. that because you rode the newest built car, wait until another year or two when its making buckled noises.
  18. We have it, it's name Select Bus Service. But it is done so cheaply.
