  1. The Blimpies on Hillside and Sutphin has been shut down by the health department. Mind you, I've been going there for an entire semester. I could simply get off the Q20/44, buy my food, and get back on since I had an unlimited. Even if it reopens, I'm not going back there. I don't want rat poop on my ham and cheese sandwich.

  2. The Woodhaven and 74th Street debate reminds me of an older argument of a similar nature: why is 59th Street/Columbus Circle not an express? Simply, it's that, at the time that the line was designed and built, planners didn't consider the same stations to be as important as well as trying to even out station spacing. Further, until the construction of the Eighth Avenue Line, 59th had no connections, and as such wasn't as particularly important as it is now, just like 74th upon the opening of the Queens Boulevard Line. If the MTA went through with its plan to switch 59th and 72nd, we'd be left with an incredibly long express service between 59th and 96th (almost two miles) that would be ineffective at servicing the Upper West Side.

The (2) train is already crush loaded during rush hour, (1) service is fairly frequent, and the IRT express pwns. 59 Street should remain a local stop.

  3. Too many stops? There's no stop for 66 blocks [59-125th]. A stop in the middle would be about 33 blocks.

Would you close up 86th on the Lexington? Because then you'd have a mirror to the CPW line.

86th Street is one of the busiest stops in the system. The point I'm trying to make is that stops don't have to be symmetrical. I would place express stops at areas where they would be busy. I wouldn't make 96 street a CPW express stop just because it's in the middle.

  4. I just got my grades for my Regents back:

    English: 100

    Italian: 100

    Global History: 98

    Algebra II: 97

    Chemistry: 98

The funny thing was that my Algebra II teacher was the only one who called me ahead of time to inform me of my grade, and it was the lowest grade of all of my Regents.

You're on your way to Columbia or NYU.

  5. That White Castle closed down for good?!

I didnt know they got rid of the Wendys in that Wendys/Popeyes combo place. When my parents would go to/from Kings Plaza, that was a place where stopping by was warranted. I havent been there since like 1997 lol.

That sucks. 2 years ago, I tutored BMCC students who took Saturday classes at Brooklyn College. After work, I always enjoyed going to that White Castle. Then I would do my shopping at Target.

You have to admit that the smell of KFC when you drive or walk by makes it very tempting.....When was the last time you ate anything that was fried?

It's tempting until you bite into the chicken and realize it's tough and dry.

  6. People seem to have forgotten about Subway being healthy-eating oriented rather than "we're going to take this sub and cram as much meat in between the bread as humanly possible."

I had Quizno's once last spring and it was good stuff. A pity it closed.

What are you talking about? Quiznos is still around. The meat at Quiznos tastes better than the meat at Subway. It actually tastes like real ham. However, they dump mayonaise on the sandwich. The mayo literally drips from the sandwich. If you eat at Quiznos you might as well eat a double cheeseburger since it's the same nutritional value. Blimpies is like a happy medium. They give you enough meat, but it still feels semi-nutritious. The only locations I know of in the city is Union Square and a hidden location in the 45th Street passageway of Grand Central.

I disagree. The prices at Five Guys are pretty fair. Where else can you get a bacon cheeseburger with 2 patties with all the toppings you want and a bag full of season fries and free refills on your soda and sit down in a 50s' style diner interior while classic rock:cool: is played off XM radio for 13 bucks? AND, you also get unlimited free peanuts. The service is great, the food is great, and the music is fantastic! To me, there's nothing better than that.

Five Guys is overpriced. Yes, their food is made to order (meaning not frozen and reheated) but the prices are still ridiculous. Wendy's gives you the same quality food for a more reasonable price.

    4) Chinese Food - I'm chinese = MY DINNER EVERY NIGHT IS CHINESE FOOD!!

That's the thing. The Chinese food people eat (sweet and sour, pork fried rice, egg rolls, etc) is Americanized Chinese Food. Ive tasted real Chinese food from Chinatown and it was super spicy. It was nothing like the food from the various Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens.

  7. 3) Subway: I've pretty much boycotted subway...

    Bring Back Blimpies !!!!

The meat at Subway has a bland taste. Quiznos gives you more meat and the meat tastes better (though I wouldn't call it health food).

Since Dominos is the only chain pizza place in my area, it's my default 'fav'. Had a papa johns pie and hated it. I don't understand how anyone can say it is good.

I don't eat pizza anymore due to my acne condition, but back when I ate pizza I thought Papa John's was the best. It has the right combination of cheese and tomato sauce.

I'm trying to cut back on fast food but it hardly works...lol.

I like McDonald's fries and nuggets and their McDoubles (where available). I can have two McDoubles and an Arizona and I'll be good.

I like Burger King's fries, but not so much ever their burgers. Ever since they stopped making the Buck Doubles and replaced them with the stackers, I stopped going there.

I love Wendy's sea salt fries, and their chicken nuggets. Their burgers are not bad, but I prefer McD's burgers.

I haven't tried Five Guys Burgers and Fries yet but I'll get around to it someday.

And lastly, CHINESE FOOD!!! But I'm careful where I buy from because some places are dirty, and those letter grades don't do justice.

I alternate between fast food and cold sandwiches (ham and cheese or tuna). I don't drink soda at all (thought I drink Snapple and Arizona).

Holy cow... Well now I know someone does indeed by those 20 piece nugget deal...

It's not a big deal. A 20 piece nugget is roughly the same as three McChicken sandwiches (and believe me, eating 3 McChicken sandwiches is doable).

  8. Favorite

Checkers- they're not a mainstream fast food restaurant, but they have a location on Chambers Street and another location in Queens (I think near the Q25/34). Their fish sandwich is tasty. They also make a nice chicken sandwich. They have a 2 for $4 deal.

White Castle- I'm not a fan of their Sliders (burgers) but I like their chicken rings and fish sandwiches. They also have cheese fries and mozzarella sticks.

Wendy's- I no longer eat burgers, but Wendy's burgers are the best out of the big three.

    Least Favorite

McDonald's- their food tastes so bland. Besides the Big Mac and chicken nuggets, I don't like anything on their menu.

Burger King- I used to like their Tendercrisp Chicken sandwich until it made me sick. F*ck the Burger King on Jamaica Avenue.

KFC- KFC's macaroni also sent me to the bathroom. The KFC Snacker is the size of my palm yet they charge $1.49 for it. The chicken is tough and hard to bite into.

  9. I have this camera. Normally, I take pictures using AUTO, but I would like to try something new, as in, trying out other settings. Suggestions?

    Oh, stop showing off. :P

I have a Samsung S500 (8.5 Megapixels). I'm not too familiar with photography lingo. The Samsung models are the most user-friendly. I'm actually looking to upgrade since I had the same camera for 3 years. I'm looking at another Samsung model that takes better underground pics.

  10. I've seen multiple threads in which Chris said, "Black people are so 'x' " or "Black people like to do 'y' ". IMO, he is a lowlife just like Weinberg.

As for quitting Subchat, look at my post count there. I'm basically a part time member. The only threads I participate in are photo threads or threads so innocuous that they can't be turned into flame wars by Weinberg.

  11. The Manhattan bound (F) is operating via 53rd this weekend. I took it. I enjoyed hauling ass through the 53rd tube (instead of crawling through the 63rd Connector). The best part was that I needed to head to Union Square. I was able to transfer to the (6) without some stupid ass out of system transfer.

  12. Don't flatter yourself :(

Why are all of you people constantly fighting? It's like one giant f*cked-up marriage :P:P

There's one cancer, Terrapin Station, who is a 5"7" loser in real life. He deliberately starts flame wars for his own amusement. The sad thing is that the vast majority of Subchat members are serious railfans who simply want to talk about their hobby. It's only a few people like Weinberg, Will D, and Chris who ruin it for everyone.

HAHAHAHAHAHA tell me about it...and no he doesn't post on there anymore.

Besides the way a lot of people were behaving on the vintage train in December were like a bunch of children with soiled diapers, but that's a discussion for another time.

On other issues, Lol @ this guy on the subway brawl thread...for thinking I'm racist cuz the black guy was beating up on the white guy. For what it's worth both those people need to be locked up for disorderly conduct on the subway. Doesn't matter who provoked the fight or not.

Of course this wouldn't have happened on an express bus.

  13. Superhero movies before was mainly Batman or Superman, there's a lot of material from the comics to make movies from them. The diversity is wonderful.

Sequels, well as I said: likely easier to make something people are familiar with or it would be too hard to create something from scratch that likely rips off something else.

People are too dumb to read comic books. All they know is Batman, Superman, Spiderman, and Wolverine. That's why they keep making sequels. Studios go for the easy money.
