  1. Request: SBS sign Q44|Jamaica/Archer Av Q44|+Select Bus Servce+ Q44|via Cross Bronx Expwy/via Main St Note Archer Av and not Merrick Bl.
  2. The "latest updates" section on your site is using the wrong year.

  3. The seat facing the RFW has been roped off for safety concerns, but of course you can still sit in the second row and look out the RFW!
  4. They're in revenue service!!! http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2011/03/01/news/doc4d6d0d911118d670996364.txt?viewmode=fullstory News images:
  5. Was that you who asked about the numbers on the Wikipedia talk page for "List of bus routes in Nassau County, New York"?

  6. ASCES, with a few minor modifications, qualifies as a PTC system under the FRA rule. We'll see it or a variant of it on almost every commuter rail line in the country and almost every piece of track Amtrak runs regular passenger service on by 2015. Major exceptions in the NYC area are the Lower Montauk, east of KO, Waterbury Branch, NYP, and Jamaica Station.
  7. According to Railroad.NET, there is a chance of an M8 in revenue service on Saturday, but Monday is supposed to be the "big debut".
  8. As a B/O, do you have route-by-route ridership info for NJT Bus?

  9. The double-decker plan was for MNR third-rail loco(!) hauled coaches to replace the diesel fleet. I don't think the M9's will be double-decker, as they are REALLY heavy. Just look at an NJT ML, which weighs on the order of 193,000 pounds. That's without the traction motors and current collectors that an MU would have. M8's are only for the New Haven Line. MN has a bunch of M3A's left, more than LIRR has M3's left. LIRR needs more cars for ESA when it opens, but I don't think MNR has any sudden increase in demand for electric equipment anytime soon.
  10. They're becoming a problem. Due to the weather, 150+ New Haven Line cars are in the shop. It's gotten so bad that the Wassaic through trains are being cancelled to provide extra dual-mode equipment to run New Haven Line trains.
  11. It can't handle the 25hz catenary that Amtrak uses from GATE on south!
  12. NO!!! It runs to Secaucus not via catenary, but via LIRR third rail at where the frequency changes from 60hz to 25hz. It can only go as far as the NJ tunnel portal.
  13. They have to handle 2 voltages of catenary, plus LIRR over-running third rail, plus MN under-running third rail. However, the LIRR functionality isn't functional yet, and they have to install it. If it weren't for weight restrictions, they could've installed a 25hz transformer instead of the LIRR third rail functionality and run to Secaucus, not just NYP.
  14. Sometime from the day before Christmas to mid-January, according to railroad.net.
  15. Is IS really worth the extra price and limited selection?
  16. Check your email!

  17. I downloaded the pictures in hope of piecing together a sign, but I noticed the backgrounds were black! How do I superimpose the dark LED's onto these pictures? I assume its not copying each and every pixel assembly in Paint, right? I do have Illustrator. Sorry for reactivating this old thread.
  18. Almost ALL through Jamaica-Montauk Branch trains use the Central Branch!!! During rush hours, the Babylon Branch doesn't do both tracks in peak direction, so to avoid catching up to locals, almost all Montauk Branch runs run via the Central. There are a few exceptions, the Cannonball is one of them.
