  1. http://nicebus.com/NiceBus/media/Nicebus-PDFs/Financial-doc-1_1.pdf There will be a (very) minor reduction in weekday service and a very minor increase in Sunday service come April. There is a $3.3M funding gap. Mid-year service cuts may be necessary.
  2. Those inspectors better not be dumb, they should just walk around the corner. Source? It's not in the committee meeting materials and things like this usually show up there. There's another meeting Mar 24 but that seems like quite close for an April 6 start.
  3. How is CWR currently gotten into the IRT system?
  4. Are the cars being referred to here R188's?
  5. Buses replace LIRR between Hicksville and Ronkonkoma from 12:01am Sat through 5am Sun, March 15 and 16. MTA Bus will be providing 139 buses. Any idea what type of buses these will be, and from what depots? Simultaneously, buses replace westbound service at Queens Village and Hollis stations Friday night into Monday morning. 18 buses needed. These will probably be transits and not coaches since it's a very short route. Note: A bus here is a bus-shift, not necessarily a different physical bus.
  6. All GO's are cancelled this weekend except for the and via . Surprised the was canceled, falling behind on that is a very bad thing.
  7. What the heck is going on here? 8:08am: - suspended Atlantic-Canal - up 6 Av/63 St to Forest Hills (?!?!?!?) - suspended Forest Hills-2 Av
  8. Next week will be a mess. - line shutdown - south of Prospect Park - north/west of Myrtle-Wyckoff ( to 57 St) - TSQ-QBP (starts at 2AM Sat) Weekend after that the go back to normal.
  9. All planned shutdowns have been canceled this weekend EXCEPT for the north of Willets Point. Monday on that one will probably be messy. There was a south of Prospect Park outage scheduled at the end of the month, but that appears to have been pulled.
  10. MNR ran one express and one local each per hour on the Hudson and New Haven, and one superlocal an hour up the Harlem. I heard of a few electrics getting stuck earlier in the day, they probably didn't want a repeat of that. LIRR ran a fairly normal rush everywhere but the Huntington, where most electrics were canceled and those that ran terminated at Hicksville for diesel shuttle service.
  11. They only put an article up if the cause is significant and it's known that service won't be restored for a while (water main break, derailment, fire, etc)
  12. The GO probably won't work too well on the weekend of May 2-5. Doesn't the bike tour close Queens Plaza?
  13. http://web.mta.info/nyct/service/servChanges_QM20.htm QM20 will run hourly service on Presidents' Day. The route is not the busiest QM route...though I agree that weekday-only express bus routes should have some form of service on the holiday, the choice of the QM20 sounds like a move to shut up a politician.
  14. All the snowbird local advisories are up. These expresses remain operating: -Queens Blvd -6 Av -8 Av/CPW -Eastern Pkwy
  15. Presidents' Day Weekend major outages: Line suspended. Jay-Utica Willets Pt-Main
  16. MTA pays for the fuel, as far as I know. They do hedge fuel/get discounts for buying in bulk though.
  17. All GO's canceled today and tonight, FASTRACK canceled the rest of the week.
  18. Have any Plan II's been called yet for this week?
  19. Are drivers supposed to call them in? Also note that this is pass-up incidents, not passed-up passengers.
  20. In the case of the 4 Av example it's probably because there's flagging next to the work zone that limits throughput. On the QBL the express and local are physically separate, but here the work is just north of Queens Plaza according to the press release.
  21. Lots of goodies here... 22. I don't think so. That's miles from the nearest tracks. That communication tower I see on Google Street View could be for LIRR radio operations.
