  1. It's now the Transdev Internet Defense Force! Read a press release every once in awhile... Goolgle "MTA LONG ISLAND BUS" and "Skeleton system" and tell me if that sounds better to you, I don't have the energy to repeat the every month or two. Also, it is proven that NICE do a lot more per dollar than the MTA ever did. So, if the system was properly funded facts, data, statistics, and common sense seem to suggest that Veolia/Transdev would be the better bet to run a [key term] PROPERLY FUNDED [/key term] system. Original! Wow, you're actually right... You see MTA is to Cadillac - overly expensive, outdated, only really admired by old timers, not eye catching to anyone under 50, the operating cost is outrageous, for no other benefit than the status. You picked Yugo, because of the US flop because American's of you're time liked gas guzzling tanks, what you failed to see was this was a perfect analogy for Veolia, very popular in overseas bringing value and savings to people now bringing and streamline economic savings to America as FIAT. Veolia was also very successful overseas bringing savings and economic value as it now does in America as Transdev. I personally hate FIAT's, but great analogy!
  2. I can't see people paying the prices they do for those places being that close to a bus depot and LIRR tracks but they do... A "commuters dream!" lol Hound, when they were building them did LIB have any problems with anything like nails in the bus tires? You're free to go to Mitchel Field and take some pictures for us. If they were in service you'd see posts of people spotting them here.
  3. NICE is BROKE they aren't going to restructure the system which would involve pricey studies, nerve racking community meetings (DON'T CUT MY ROUTE"), and hours of analysts time who work for NICE. You know NICE is only allowed to cut and alter so many routes per year, who would they legally do this? You think this would be more efficient, maybe in the long run,but at first drivers would get lost, this would cause late buses. People would be standing on street corners spinning in confusion. The new routes and new system would be overwhelming for the average rider who is used to the same old thing, now add in buses that are lost and late. Nassau is full of knew jerk politician's, look at the politicians who voted for school speed zone cameras then changed their mind because their voters didn't like getting tickets! The politicians will be afraid of pissing off the large immigrant community that takes the bus, so much so they'll want to get TV time, promise to fix the problem, hold an emergency meeting, throw Transdev under the bus. Have an emergency meeting to vote Transdev out, hire a replacement company (at god knows the rate) who promises to restore the old system/route that evil Transdev eliminated.
  4. People who have to rely on public transportation should just buy a car while we're living in gumdrop and candy cane land!
  5. 1081 getting a tow in Riverhead (in the plaza where Walmart used to be) yesterday afternoon.
  6. This is true but I didn't say it because of the 1700's that haven't been wrapped, but in reality the V's weren't painted because of their age. Like I said paint the ones that aren't getting the full livery paint or wrap with Nassau's stripe it'll make the fleet look more consistent. But if money's tight slapping a NICE vinyl over the Foothill logo will do the job. Any reports of these buses on the road? I wonder if these buses will get a paper temp plate like NYCT Bus 7090 had while they're waiting for the new "County of Nassau" license plates?
  7. I doubt they'll be painting or wrapping "borrowed" buses that will be around for a year or two... They didn't paint or wrap any of the V's that have been in the NICE system longer than these foothill buses are planned to be. I wonder if they'll just stick the NICE decals on the foothill transit buses? It's my opinion that they should've painted an orange & blue NICE stripe on the buses that that wouldn't be wrapped or painted. Speaking of paint, since buses are from SoCal and never seen snow or road salt the paint looks great! Just like if you see a car from Florida or something the paint will look brighter and newer than the same year car from NY.
  8. I bet half of Foothill's buses that are over a decade old won't fail the DOT inspection... Unless Foothill decided to spend a crazy amount of money to ship their retired buses across the country and scrap them in NICE's lot this is happening! Pics are on the previous page. I actually think the opposite will happen and NICE is going to baby these buses, NICE could have leased/borrowed/bought retired buses from the MTA, why wouldn't they? They wouldn't have to ship them across the country. Watch, in a year Setzer will be at a community meeting showing statistics of how much better these foothill transit buses compared to how NICE/LIB V's are performing, the difference being the buses the inherited from LIB were junk ie LIB's maintenance was the problem not NICE's.
  9. I wonder how long before these buses will be in service? How long does it take to reprogram the signs? Is it like computer software they download with the routes? I wonder if they will be leasing fareboxes from the or do they have 25 on hand from scrapped buses?
  10. Oh... As I said in my post there was another being driven in the yard that I saw on one of the other sides of the building...
  11. There were MANY buses at MF (this was 11am)... Many buses were also coming back at that time probably coming back from providing service for the morning rush.
  12. Sorry they're not photo shoot quality like some of but I was in a hurry (be thankful I stopped lol) good enough for the skeptics that won't believe it until they see it.
  13. I've got a pic but I can't upload from my phone... I'll be home within an houR....
  14. Why does it take so long for the minutes of the community meetings to be posted on the NICE website? Any other place I can where these post earlier? Why does it take months to upload these documents? By the time these documents are on the NICE site they are worthless because they are outdated...
  15. I want to see this on Tosh.0!"I say call the police, or f uck you then!" Haha! When the driver pulled the parking brake you know he was about it get serious, you could here it in the guys voice taking the video, he thought he was about to get his ass kicked! lmao
  16. Orion VII 4 Life, was this you? I'm disappointed if it was! I'm going out on a limb here to assume you (when i say you I'm referring to whoever made the video) weren't entitled to a transfer but like every other piece of trash you felt you were entitled to and act like a child until you get one....just like the piece of trash who assaulted the bus operator recently you both carried on like children except I think you were scared this bus driver was going to beat the shit out of you if you took it any further! lol When you didn't get your way you escalated the situation until you pissed off the bus driver enough where he started cursing at you! Not getting your way and not getting your transfer you record the driver cursing at you? Maybe the driver should have been a little more professional but you obviously pushed his buttons and then started recording. Now you want us to look at your video like NICE or the driver was wrong? Sorry, there was one person wrong in the situation and it was you! No free ride! ...and when a driver tells you to get off the bus, get off the bus, stop having a temper tantrum because you didn't get a transfer you're not entitled to!
  17. Are you talking about uniforms early on in NICE? If I remember correctly you can go back in this thread to the early days of NICE and there was a snafu getting about half the NICE uniforms delivered on time. Did those drivers still wear LIB uniforms until their uniforms came in? I thought the took them back, I guess they collected extra's over the years. Ask Hound or LI Operator the transit police lined drivers up in the hallway like they were being released from prison to strip the drivers of their badges, uniforms, and dignity. IMHO, the older you get the earlier you like to wake up... Drivers were doing what others might consider shit runs but they did it because they getting 11 hour days and already getting over time for their regular week. Once NICE came in and eliminated picks like that with overtime that was killing the system the desire to drive shitty runs, into the evening with traffic has gone away. If everything is an 8 hour day of course drivers are going on top are going to pick the easiest runs, early in the morning, no traffic , get home early in the afternoon. A senior driver isn't going to pick a rush hour n4 or overnight n6, why would they? As far as drivers not up for retirement who are making $65,000,I can't see them quitting because NICE sucks, to what deliver furniture for $14/hr? I don't buy it...
  18. Are you talking about people retiring or quitting? How many and in how long of a time? I have a hard time believing drivers who are making $65,000 a year without over time are quitting when they won't even be able to find a job making $15/hr! Unless they just quit without knowing how bad it is out there making and won't be making half of what they are now!
  19. Is that bus still running around with the LIB back? For those who don't know or remember or know LIB just slapped the back of an old V on 9287.
  20. This is different than buses being sent to to aleviate the mess of an equipment shortage due to over half of MTA LIB's fleet failing a DOT inspection ( a simple safety check to make sure buses are road worthy) because of MTA LIB's maintenence (all of these buses were inherited by NICE to suffer long term maintenence problems with excerpt for buses 1840-1845, the only 45 buses exclusively used by NICE) or buses being replace due to accidents. Around the time of the video you referenced some officials had proposed a regional transportation system. Under this prosody plan more services, equipment, and routes amoung agencies and depots. One of the benefits would be let's say a N4 bus broke down in queens an MTA depot in queens could send a replacement bus (since the depots would be sharing a fleet and theoretically some N4 trips could be covered by that depot in queens).
  21. Who needs a drivers license? Just get loaded and drive your car with illegal out of state plates and no license until you're so shitfaced one night you drive it into a NICE bus... Boo f**king hoo, they can come here illegally because it is too hard to do so legally? Are you kidding me? it's okay to break the law because doing it legally is too hard? Yea, these are the people I want in my Country.
  22. Nobody deserves to be here unless they do it legally. If you are here illegally you should not get amnesty IMHO because you already shown you don't respect our laws or processes, you will do whatever to beat the system!
