  1. They use a particular model bus for training so whichever depots has that bus is where you can be at. I’ve been seeing training buses out of Manhattanville, East New York and Queens Village lately. That’s only 3 of maybe the 10-12 depots that they can send you.
  2. None. Wherever Zerega assigns you is where you’re going for training.
  3. Depends on the schedule for that week. For the 10 day, you usually start on a Sunday or Monday for training and that will give you Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday off. However, if you have to come in the weekend, they will let you know. Line training is M-F unless you’re that week has a TA holiday. If that’s the case, they will give you the holiday off and have you in on the weekend to make that day up.
  4. I’m not sure of the timeframe but whenever they put the class together, you should be in it, since you would have the lowest active list number.
  5. I’m not sure of the timeframe but whenever they put the class together, you should be in it, since you would have the lowest active list number.
  6. Nah. You’re asking if you x-over using one of these exams? You’ll x-over from MTA Bus and be a provisional TA hire. So you’ll still be working. When the list officially goes up, they will go through the list in order and hire permanently. (While getting rid of the provisional hires) So they can get to you on the list while you’re a provisional and all they have to do is change you to a permanent employee. But if they have to end your provisional employment, then they should send you back to MTA Bus, until they reach your list number and then bring you back permanently. If you’re talking about another exam where the list is established, you’re x-ing over as a permanent employee.
  7. Same way as I explained in the first post. It’s only temporary until the list is established and you’re hired permanently.
  8. I’m not sure of all the specifics. You would have to do the pre-employment paperwork to make you a city employee, get a new pass and a drug test. I don’t know if they would make you do the medical again. You will get a start date at Zerega for some more paperwork and then they’ll ship you off to a depot.
  9. This thread is now open. When posting, please post the exam number(s) you are referencing for easier tracking.
  10. Nobody is going to look down on it. I’ve seen people with worse histories get hired, lol.
  11. At a computer that has access to the TA intranet. It’s the only way until IT restores access.
  12. Nah but bus operators in NYS are subject to the 19-A law. Pretty much says if you have 'x' amount of accidents in a certain timeframe OR more than 9 points on your license, you will lose your 19A status, which is what you need to carry passengers in NYS. It also says that you must report any accidents or conviction of moving violations ASAP or be suspended from work for a week.
  13. I answered his question as if he was asking about doing it on the bus. If you run red lights and get tickets in your personal car, it’s whatever. If you get caught on the bus, then you will have your probation extended in any instance. However, you can get suspended if you get caught by supervision.
  14. Just put you got fired. They’re just asking because that’s what they’re going to use to do your background check. I was fired from two jobs in the two years prior to being hired.
  15. That can be any route if they give you too much time to do the trip or if the traffic conditions are light.
  16. This is going to be a master thread for the 6 TA exams scheduled to be held between March and August. You can apply for more than one exam in this series BUT you cannot apply for the same exam #, more than once. The MTA is anticipating hiring candidates who have passed an exam provisionally, approximately 2 months after each exam period ends. Being hired provisionally means your employment is temporary for up to 9 months, or not for 2 months after the list is established. You must be re-hired as a permanent employee (from the list) in order to continue employment after the provisional status expires. Apply Here: www.mymta.info/exams The Notice of Examination (NOE) for 2611, 2612, 2613, 2614, 3600 and 3601 can be found here. Exam 2611: March 1st - 31st, 2022, testing expected to begin April 18, 2022. Exam 2612: April 1st - 30th, 2022 ; testing expected May 16, 2022. Exam 2613: May 2nd - 31st, 2022 ; testing expected June 20, 2022. Exam 2614: June 1st - 30th, 2022 ; testing expected July 18, 2022. Exam 3600: July 1st - 31st, 2022; testing expected August 15, 2022. Exam 3601: August 1st - 30th, 2022; testing expected September 19th, 2022.
  17. Yes it is. The document says that 435 of the remaining low floor buses are going to be electric.
  18. You will be paid regularly. You are a full employee from day 1. You will get your first paycheck 18 days after. Benefits will start 90 days in.
