  1. Yikes, that reeks... Here, these were made by ConeyIslandAv7, though it's very incomplete, but will do for now. Lemme know if you downloaded it so I can delete it. Speaking about incomplete... how complete are your Axion fonts...? Are they the same dimensions as Titan (200x24)? I only have a very small font list, from the same member too.
  2. For the most part, a large bulk of the fonts came from you and Lance . The luminator fonts came from RTS CNG Command, though a member here posted an official list that ranges from "size" 5 to 24 which also includes Titan fonts. BTW, I don't use the fonts, I reconstructed them with Paint as I have been doing for the past 11 years.
  3. I found the error, I was using the wrong "E" and "O". Less impressive is the fact I didn't reconstruct the lowercase letters, whoops. In other news, I slightly altered the circle bullet that overlaps with the diamond bullet. On that same note, I redid the diamond bullets for both because they looked very disjointed and too close together. I was aiming for literal perfection, yet some of my reconstructed signs aren't exactly like the real deals, hehe https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/x402/BronxSkipStopExpress/3ExpressSquaredTypefaceLED1.gif https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/x402/BronxSkipStopExpress/NExpressRoundedTypefaceLED2.gif
  4. Thank you, I'll check it out. I -kinda- did a rush job, so I've been noticing a few aesthetic errors along the way.
  5. Note: Can a mod please merge this topic with the original one and rename it accordingly? And whatever I post here be edited in within the OP as well? Thanks. This is the Animated Digital Bus & Train Destination Signs thread. I would like to express my thanks to (in no particular order) RTS CNG Command, Lance, BenTheMiner, ConeyIslandAv7, R44 CNG (and others that I can't seem to remember) for the dedication and inspiration needed to make this possible for the past 11 years. Please read the bottom carefully before requesting a sign. You can only request one of each (bus and train) or 2 of one (bus or train) at a time. Failure to specify your request will result in me choosing for you. Be reasonable with your requests, don't expect me to produce anything beyond 4-5 frames. And if that's the case, then you can only request one sign and it will be held off depending on the number of requests. I don't abbreviate, ever. If it's for the flipdot, then I can make an exception. At the present time, I can produce the following digital signs: Bus signs: Scrolling will be the default transition for the flipdot sign, while the "blank" transition will be the default for older R142 signs, though both transitions can be done for any sign. You must mention if you want these features outside of the respective signs. The default font color will be used, though multi colors can be done. However, only the colors featured on the official bus maps will be used. Green Flipdot/Side Titan (120x16) Horizon LED (160x16) Titan LED (200x24) (from 2013) Side Flipdot/Horizon (90x7) Rear Flipdot (23x10) Rear Horizon (48x16) I'll be adding more later on, they're not ready for "display". Exterior train signs: There are 4 versions of the B-division LCD sign: the beige/yellowish one found inside, the black one found outside, a grayish one that I invented out of the blues and the prototype one that was only used for testing purposes and never officially used to my knowledge. It is imperative that you mention which one you want due to the variety available. The default font color will be used, though multi colors can be done. However, only the colors denoting the current trunk lines (and the pre-1979 colors) will be used. Double letters and numbers are possible (unless otherwise stated). R44/R46 LCD Signs (15 characters, 7x5) Digital diamond and circle bullets were added, taken straight from the modified R62/A signs used on the and (7). R110B LCD Signs (20 characters, 7x5) At the present time, double letters and numbers are NOT possible for the exterior signs below. A small "flipdot" indicator reading [LCL] [LTD] [EXP] [SHU] [S/S] was added. R142 Dot Matrix/Mosaic LCD (20 characters) R142A Mosaic LCD (20 characters) R142S Commuter LCD (20 characters) R143 LED (19x12 for the large font, 110x9 elsewhere) R160 LED (20x12 for the large font, 115x9 elsewhere) R179 LED (20x12 for the large font, 150x9 elsewhere) Instead of a flipdot indicator, a diamond and circle bullet will take its place. R142 Rounded Typeface LED (20 characters) R188 Squared Typeface LED (20 characters) Interior train signs: There are 2 versions of the B-division Interior LCD sign: the beige/yellowish one found inside and a grayish one invented by me. I plan on developing a prototype version later on. The default font color will be used, though multi colors can be done. However, only the colors denoting the current trunk lines (and the pre-1979 colors) will be used. R44/46 Interior LCD (25 characters, 7x5) (from 2012) (from 2012) R110A/B Interior LCD (25 characters, "Split flat" mosaic) R142/A Interior LED (205x16) R142/A Interior LED Extended (250x16) R143/160 Interior LED (205x13) R179 Interior LED (250x13) I plan to expand the collection by creating more alternate digital signs, inspired by actual ones. In the meantime, enjoy!
  6. Yeah, there's no real way to scroll by the dot, sadly. At least, not with the software. RTS might fill you in with Adobe, but he'll recommend you to buy it if you plan to take your project seriously (and it looks like you will)
  7. Thanks for the references. I'm finished remastering/polishing/etc my existing work and will be ready to make a new thread. That is, once I finish creating "display" signs hehe. Whoops! lol 1. File -> New 2. Correct width and height to your liking. Don't worry about the canvas color. EDIT: I would resize the individual frames first. Attempting to resize later on after the fact will eliminate the scroll transition. 3. This is very important. This is where you'll have to insert each frame -twice!- On the "Animation1 [1:2] - Frames" window, within the white/grayed "checkers" box area, right click - > Insert frames -> From file -> Add file -> Select all individual frames -> Open -> Ok 4. I'm using two frames, but remember that even though the number varies, the results will always be the same. Select the first frame -> Frame properties -> 120 (for 2 seconds) or 180 (3 seconds). Repeat until you update all frame properties. 5. Select the second frame -> Insert frame -> From file -> Add file -> Select the first frame again -> Open -> Ok 6. Select the duplicate first frame -> Frame properties -> 20 7. Repeat this as many times as you can until you reach the last frame. Select the "checkered" box again -> Insert frame -> From file -> Add file -> Select the first frame again -> Open -> Ok 6. Select the second duplicated first frame -> Frame properties -> 1 7. Select the checkered box and delete. Keeping that would count as a frame by default. And this will allow the animation to loop back to the beginning. 8. Select all duplicate frames that read "20" -> Effects -> Image transition -> Wipe -> Customize -> Make sure the wipe direction goes from left to right, everything else doesn't need to be selected. -> The define transition is for you to mess around to your liking. That is why you need the duplicate frames in place. Without them, you can't slow down or speed up the transition properly. 9. View the animation and make sure it's perfect. 10. Save as -> Name it whatever and save it wherever (lol) -> Make sure better image quality is always your top priority over smaller file size -> Click NEXT many times until you're prompted to click on FINISH. And voila!
  8. Based on the fonts you provided, there are some slight differences between the fonts of the R143/160/179, but most are the same. Are you able to provide the exact "dimensions: for most of the NTT LED signs? This is what I remember from back in the day: R142/A/188 Interior: 200 -> 16 v (could be 210, not sure) R143/160: 200 -> 13 v (not counting the unused bottom portion) R143 Ext: 108 ->, 8 v R160 Ext: 108 -> 9 v Before the R179 debuted, I extended the R160 exterior sign to 170 x 9, hehe. PS: For the MAX Scroll effect, use Jasc animation shop 3, it's FANTASTIC.
  9. One question... are the interior LED signs on the R142/R142A/R188 the same in terms of the "dot spacing" and the fonts themselves? And the R143/R160/R179 as well? To me they are, but you might know better.
  10. Wow, I forgot about this exam. I'm in the 8000's. I probably wont' be called given the current pace and the damn pandemic. Oh well.
  11. Nice job with the signs, especially the digital ones.
  12. Ugh, I can't believe the "no edit after an hour restriction" still exists. Why is it even enforced to begin with...? Anyways, I think I'm all set.
  13. Hi, would it be too much trouble if my thread could be reopened again? Thanks.

  14. Hi, would you happen to have this collection by any chance? I accidentally deleted it from my flash drive years ago...

  15. Don't know if there's a general covid thread, so yeah. Hope all of you are doing well out there. I was very unfortunate last year.
  16. Well, it's been years since I even bothered to produce signs. I recreated the original source in Paint and I actually like it. (Not that I hate my past creations...) Long story short, covid hit me last year and sadly, I forgot how to do the scrolling animation in Ulead GIF animator. Adding further damage, I don't think anyone (apart from R44 CNG) knows how to animate it with the software I mentioned. RTS uses Adobe, but I don't have that software, so there's that. EDIT: Never mind, I was using the wrong software. I found the right one. However, I still can't remember how to make the MAX Scroll effect run, well, faster. It'll come back to me.
  17. http://s1180.photobucket.com/user/BronxSkipStopExpress/library/BusPictures Just a sample of what I have, there's actually more. Hard to believe that our last major Bronx bus restructuring took place in 1984.
  18. Not to sound off topic (technically it isn't) but is anyone interested in seeing the timetables for the older routes mentioned above? I can answer that. A study was conducted sometime in 1999-2000 and the TA saw that more riders going to Fordham Center at the time used the Bx28 and not the Bx26. Yet this doesn't explain why the Fordham Center branch was the main route, whereas the Bedford Park branch wasn't. Keep in mind that prior to December 1991, buses alternated to either terminals. Until September 2000, the Bedford Park branch saw service weekday rush hours, early weekend mornings, and all remaining late evening service. Surprisingly, the Bx26 was not part of the 1995 service cuts, how strange. Now that we're talking about the Bx28, based on older maps that I have in my collection, all Sunday service ended at Moshulu Parkway. Again, I'm not sure what allegedly caused the ridership changes between both routes at that time.
  19. Actually, that branch was cut in June 1995 due to reliability issues at 3rd Ave. Only 5% of riders used that branch, yet 21% of service ran weekdays, 25% on weekends, and nocturnal hours had 50% to either branch.
  20. Were they shut down in 1975 because they weren't in the middle of the station or was their another reason? In the MTA's world, "Security reasons" was the reason, although it doesn't explain much. The mystery is quite intriguing, especially since there aren't any pics depicting the actual elevators other than the stairwells and the passageway. Case in point: here and here!
  21. My collection is growing! I like it when I can make deals with certain people. Because I have an iPhone now, PhotoFAWKit won't accept .HEIC photos, gah! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_d1UVaf3-Eiht6zXksHMHCFxdZefJjV3?usp=sharing
  22. This might sound somewhat random and strange, but does anyone know how can I contact Christopher Rivera regarding the 1979 Bronx Bus Map?
  23. ^I guess I'm the right guy for this. Do you want them to be multi-colored or just the original style?
