Just curious what are the hours or shifts of this job? Also is their a lot of overtime?

Goes by seniority, 3 tours , all different hours. When you go in, you pick from what is left.  AM PM NITE Vacation relief, Lunch Rellief.  The further back you are, the less choices you have,My friend retired after 31 years at the end of 2020.  You can work anywhere in the system any hour of the day by tour.  Vacation Relief you can work any station in the system any tour week by week. Lunch relklief you run around from station to station giving them 1;/2 hour breaks,

Hello Everyone!! Any new updates? They will restart hiring or not? Which number was running before pandemic?

They are downsizing the title.  They are closing more booths and eliminating all Lunch Relief jobs and changing the times of all the booths and will eventually elilminate the night tour.

Ever hear the old adage about the railroad: "Believe half of what you see and even less of what you hear"

You can't make all booths part time - that's just stupid...not to mention transit is obligated to pay OT after 8 hours a day...there are very few jobs with more than 8 hours. You can't run a booth between the hours of 10am and 6pm and that's it...and do you REALLY think they're gonna magically start paying a ton of people OT?

He clarified that the booths would be open for the AM and PM tours and close for the night tour.

    • My Station Agent friend told  me that next July, they will totally change all the hours of all the booths and eliminate the PM and Night tours at most booths.
    • Will someone  call the union to see if what he says is correct.  I don't see them doing this without public hearings happening.  He says booths will close at 4 or 6 pm.
  5. For those of you who are going to be Wayfinders, expect to stand the entire day.

For those of you who are going to be in the booths, expect to work extrememly busy booths.

Good luck to you all. I believe that their is high turnover in new employees due to the difficult environments involved.

If your appointment date in 2018, you will NOT get any vacation until 2019.

For 2017, you will get 1 day for each ENTIRE month worked

  7. (Correct me if I'm wrong)Before it was MTA, you could only board Canarsie buses at Downtown Brooklyn and the Junction and get off Downtown bound buses at the Junction and then Downtown Bklyn.. Now you can get on and off at any stop.

The LTD exempts it from the request-a-stop program after 10pm..

  8. I see. I'll assume you're talking about the express buses. Then it could be done by a private operator.

And to answer your question, VG8, I imagine the SIers would fill up about 24 to 35 seats per run with about maybe 7 round trips.

    Yes, I meant express buses.

  9. I created a manhattan route in the form of the M17:

M17: Serves World Trade Center/Chambers Street to West 34th Street

Stops: Via Chambers Street, Canal Street W.Houston Street, West 4th Street, Turn right to 14th Street then up 8av with the M20. Then terminates at 34 Penn Station.

Task: Assist (E) train passengers in going to World Trade Center in times when it is re-routed to alternative route. Assist Crosstown workers in transfers.

Additional Service: Extension to 42nd street during rush hours resulting in Battery Park City/South Ferry to 42nd street/Port Authority Bus Terminal.

This has yet to be developed but it'll be more Improved.

Nonstop, this would have been the former X26 bus route.
