…After reading another rude, volatile, vulgar, swear-heavy, unprofessional moderation post in the SSMB (not to me, BTW), I'm quite glad I left that place two months ago.

"Butthurt" and "retarded" have several things in common. They indicate that you concede an argument. They're both disgusting slurs (retarded" ableist, "butthurt" homophobic). And they just make the person look unintelligent.

^THANK YOU! The one thing that I've noticed on here and elsewhere as of late is that people get offended by shit they clearly don't understand and make up some kind of terminology to make it seem more offensive than it is. The term is mostly (and only) used when someone gets their feelings hurt over something so incredibly stupid like video games or a common thing on here, foamer flame wars.
-
To add on top of that, I can't understand how it strictly correlates to anything of the gay matter, unless of course, said persons don't like women, but that's another story. The term itself has never been used as a homophobic slur of any kind because to use it as one would make no sense at all. People need to stop being so bloody sensitive about dumb things like this, straight up.
-
@MHV, Cait: In a way, yes, because that slur objectifies people in such a sick and offensive manner since its inception in the 1990s. Words aren't just words. They dispel or enforce specific kinds of culture. Plus, "butthurt" carries a "Godwin's Law" effect: use it, and you automatically conceded your own opinion.
Don't merely take my word for it. Just like Persephone Magazine, Gawker explains it well, too: http://gawker.com/5965417/on-butthurt

What the HELL, Google?! I'm not interested in creating a mandatory Google+ account! YouTube's new commentary system's bullshit!

It's already that bad... https://www.change.org/petitions/google-change-the-youtube-comment-section-back-to-its-original-form . (I would have done it but i'm not giving all those personal details).

So far, I feel like the only one who feels the transit fares should be lowered AND restructured across the board and that the fare-beating law should be greatly reduced, completely revamped so it doesn't penalize the working class and poor, or abolished.

...won't get caught, and then it repeats itself. Old habits die hard. If you genuinely don't have enough, that's understandable.
BTW, even people who are poor try to do this as well on the bus (just pay a few cents or even a dollar short of the fare, and then tell the B/O). Eventually, some B/O's catch on and warn the person. Sometimes they won't even let them on.
-
lol... There's a white guy that does this. Would try to get the express bus without paying. Even asked me for a dip. Looked at him like he was crazy. I now see him taking the local bus. Likely trying the same crap. The B/O's on the express don't allow it, so he has no choice but to try the local. Surely he has the money but why pay if you can get on for free? That's the way folks do things these days... Let someone else pay for your expenses.

Dislike Obama how much you want, but calling him a socialist is nothing more than a pure ad hominem with no purpose but to instill pointless, irrational fear. Thank you.

In the three forums I go on, this one is pretty much for Romney. The MLP Forums are generally equal. The SSMB is more for Obama.

If Disney released Peter Pan today, it would be slammed so badly because of the blatant racial stereotypes and racist language towards Native Americans.

Still has absolutely little to no trust in Romney and ZERO trust in Ryan.

Holy f**k, Batman, that "no me gusta" joke in PPG 2016 is so on-the-nose, it's painfully unfunny. D:

Any registered Republican with a sense of dignity and respect would never watch or follow Fox News (unless to laugh at the daily bullshit it pours out).

The Unite the Right rally is a Neo-Nazi, KKK, white-supremacist rally to suppress everyone other than the racist, Christian-based cult-right. Heather Hayer and Harris are victims of terrorist attacks by this cult. These terrorists are at the same level as al-Qaida and ISIS. Anyone who claims this to be hyperbole is delusional.

There's absolutely a difference between the alt-right rallies and counter-protests. The Unite the Right and other white supremacist rallies are designed INTENTIONALLY to oppress minorities, people of color, the LGBT, religious minorities, and many others. The counter-protestors were victims of terrorist attacks; they were completely in the right.
-
[ on that Trump is right. ]
Trump is objectively wrong, and you, Via, are objectively wrong by sucking up to this racist. The "both sides" schlock is a major false equivalence that whitewashes the Charlottesville terror attacks and supports the neo-Nazis' causes. The Unite the Right rally was menacing, threatening, and called for the death of racial, sexual, and religious minorities.

I may not have Facebook or Twitter, but it doesn't mean I can't use the marriage equality logo to support gay marriage!

It's not "civil rights" in everyone's opinion. People (including myself) believe marriage is between a man and a woman (however I do not care if the states allow same-sex marriage) and allowing the states to decide is a win-win for everyone. Places where the people want it can have it, and where the people don't want it let them not allow/ban it. Like it or not, this country is divided and that's not gonna change, hell that's what makes this great nation so great....

NOT a fan of raising the minimum wage to $9.25 per hour. A fan of raising the minimum wage to $20 per hour.

Back from fanning.

The Trump Administration's ban refugee ban is isolationist, racist, and completely disgraceful. This clear ban on Muslims is illegal, unethical, and immoral. He's repeating the same mistake as FDR when they turned away Jewish refugees, many of whom were murdered in the Holocaust. As a Jew, the fact he enacted this ban on Holocaust Remembrance Day makes me doubly-sick to my stomach.

"Toby: 'Henry's broken down!'" "Gordon: 'Don't tell me he needs special coal again!'" "Toby: 'No, Gordon! That was fixed years ago.'" LOL!

One of the most anticipated fangames in the brony fandom and fighting gaming community altogether, Fighting Is Magic, recently got ceased-and-desisted by Hasbro. That sucks! DX

A MUCH better performance from Obama tonight. He looked prepared, organized, and assertive. He actually looked like a leader tonight, particularly when he called Romney's actions surrounding the placement of the Bengazzi attacks into politics as "offensive."

@Grand: You didn't pay full attention to what he said. He made it very clear that their security and deaths were his responsibility. And, yes, while it is fair game, there is a time to know what to use to gain the vote and vice-versa. Using their deaths to achieve a political gain (hell, even the IDEA of it) is completely low.
-
And I agree with that as well, but I dunno who in Obama's administration kept stating it was all because of a video. It looks more like a coordinated attack based on the 9/11 anniversary. As for the death issue, yes Romney needs to drop it and move on to the other topics, just like Obama needs to drop the Big Bird nonsense.

The "Harlem Shake" meme seen in the videos isn't even the real Harlem Shake. The real Harlem Shake (dating back to 1981) is completely different and much more complicated.

It would've taken a really big story to get Lance Armstrong's interview with Oprah off the headlines. Manti Te'o's girlfriend revealed to be a hoax did just that.

Trump is the new President… And so homophobes, nationalists, Islamophobes, sexists, racists, and maybe a sexual predator enter position of power that risk setting this country back 70 years. God help us now.

In a few months from now, my "Animated Luminator Bus Signs" thread — the thread that began every animated bus sign you see here — will celebrate its third aniversary.

Heading to BronyCon at the end of the month!

If you want to know how big the fandom has become, point to BronyCon's growing attendance. The first one was small, but the second drew 300 people. The BronyCon this winter had over 700 people attending, forcing the team to relocate the convention to the Meadowlands. It's possible we'll see about 4,000 people attending the two-day event.

My feelings for this new "vote up/down" system is rather mixed. On one hand, it'll hopefully make people think before they hit the "submit" button. On the other hand, it may invite further drama. The Sonic Stadium Message Board once had the neg-rep option, and it only invited controversy. Some people complained about being bombed with negative reputation, and at least one left for this. Because of the headache, it was ditched for the "Like" system only.

Didn't watch the Presidential Debate last night. Was too busy watching baseball.
