  1. The funny thing is, this is my last semester in college before I graduate and I'm having somewhat better luck with girls, but I ask myself why so late though and where was this luck the first three years. The effed up thing though is that there are girls who are really looking for a nice guy and then they pass them up because they're not "what they wanted"...I was in a situation like that this summer when this girl I met in March had a boyfriend at the time but it ended abruptly in May when the guy was talking to some other girl behind her back and dropped her. It wasn't until September when I just gave up asking her to hang out and stuff, or even something as simple as meeting up in between classes on campus because there'd always be an excuse. To this day I don't know if they were legitimate excuses or not but I don't even care to be frank cuz I don't even like her like that anymore. It was just a summer crush and I'm also glad nothing else materialized because she was a bit immature for me. If I see her on campus I won't be a moron and just walk past her like I didn't see her...I'll say hi and stuff but that's as far as it'll get. She's still stuck over her ex-boyfriend, wishing that they'd get back, it's so annoying. There's more to the story (a middle part) but I'll leave that out for now...if anyone is interested in hearing it, by all means I'll share it.
  2. Lol...they were better of at Yukon, at least they took care of them. I'm wondering how the new 2200/2300s are doing at Charleston...I've been seeing them a lot but I haven't rode them yet.
  3. That's why I don't think I'm ready for a girlfriend yet...I'm don't think I'm prepared for the price tag it'll come along with. I have my own money issues and whatnot...I'm trying to save every penny I can so I can get the hell out of my mom's house by the summer and I don't need to be spending it unnecessarily.
  4. Castleton has improved, but they can do better. That's why I don't agree with having buses stored outside because exposing the buses to the elements 24/7 can add extra wear and tear to them. The MCIs at Castleton are poorly maintained. Yukon > Castleton Other than that, today I caught 934 on the B16 doing a school piece from Fort Hamilton High School dropping out to 36th Street. There was an Orion 7 and two new C40s also going to 36th Street. I remember hating the old C40s, but now I'm going to miss them as there's only a handful of them left. I'm not a fan of the new C40s especially the ones with LBSS, but the non-LBSS C40s are hard to come by.
  5. So I've been doing some thinking...with the B44-SBS going into full swing within a year and the northbound routing of the bus being relocated onto Rogers Avenue, I've been wondering about the Bedford Avenue/Arlington Place exit for the Nostrand Avenue station on the and the . Are they going to re-open it for the B44-SBS? I would be shocked if they didn't seeing that there will be a Fulton Street stop for the B44 in both directions, and the northbould stop will now be at Fulton/Bedford. Obviously it is unnecessary now since the northbound and southbound B44 stop at Fulton and Nostrand Avenues, and there isn't a Limited stop at Fulton/Bedford, but that will soon change. Will the MTA re-open the western exit for the station? I think it is warranted. Thoughts?
  6. Just saw 6032 on the S78. I think that bus came from Casey Stengel or Kingsbridge. Whatever the case, the bus has GPS.
  7. Worst case scenario the furthest an R160 can go on the Rockaway Line would probably have to be Howard Beach. South of that point and if you have TOO MANY trains down there, it can be a problem. Remember, R160s were tested on the in the Rockaways and passed the 30-day test, but it was most likely only one consist at a time and never more than that.
  8. That could be the reason why they gave the Q50 to Eastchester and removed the RTS' from the line and gave them Orion 5s because the RTS' they had were pre-1998 models. And as for Manhattan, I'd say the number of pre-1999 buses they have make up for somewhere between 5-10% of the Manhattan Division. I don't know if they'll put GPS in the 2000 New Flyers in Manhattan but seeing there are 2000 units in the Bronx with GPS then it's a slight possibility.
  9. Speaking of GPS, something dawned on me that makes it certain that Queens and Brooklyn will be the last buses to have GPS...they want to get rid of as much end-of-life buses as much as possible, and it just so happens that Queens and Brooklyn have the most of them (1995/1996 RTS', the Ex-Bee Line Orion 5s, as well as 1305 and 1306, and some 1999 New Flyers). Staten Island has the least amount of them (their oldest buses are 1998/1999 and aren't being retired as of yet), as well as the Bronx. I do think though that whatever buses older than 1998/1999 are still around after GPS is systemwide, they'll most likely not give them GPS as it would be pointless to give it to them and they would be retiring anyway...perfect examples are the 1999 New Flyers at West Farms.
  10. At least you have the ability to make people intimidated...unlike me. I'm a scrawny guy lol In other words, it's that time of the year again, Daylight Savings Time. I like the days being longer but the fact that I lost an hour of sleep last night really sucked. I went to bed a little before 2 and woke up at 8:30, five hours of sleep! I was cranky as f*** earlier this morning but I'm okay now,.
  11. In case you guys didn't know, R160s were tested in the Rockaways and they passed compared when they were testing on various other lines and they failed. But I do think that if too many R160s are in the Rockaways at any given time then there could be an issue. Other than that one or two trains wouldn't do harm.
  12. Well said man. As long as you keep working hard then everything you once believed was once out of reach will soon be in your grasp. It just takes time and dedication.
  13. I really wish cops would crack down hard on panhandlers because that shit is annoying. Call me cold but I don't want to hear their sob-stories about how they're homeless and trying to get spare change to get them something to eat...for the most part they put themselves in that position. Yes sometimes it's inevitable but why should I give the money I busted my ass for to some decrepit skell? I remember one time there was this homeless Asian lady on the Staten Island ferry at like 7 in the morning and she was asking people for change...she'd extend her cup with change and hover over them for like a good minute. She did that to me and tapped me on the shoulder and I was like wtf...if I wanted to be a real prick I would have slapped the cup with change out of her hand and have her pick it off the floor. It's really annoying and I don't know why people continue to shell out their money to them, whether it's 25 cents, 50 cents, a dollar or two or five...I refuse to do it. Lord knows what they use their money for....
  14. These people are mental cases...I applaud their effort for trying to tell people to move in but sometimes you really can't move any further. It's worse on buses because people don't like to step into the back. Two years ago I was on the S53 which predominately used hybrids at the time and the bus was crushloaded and it wasn't even noon yet...it was 11:00. My guess is a bus may have broken down, but after standing in the front right by the door I told the driver to stop at the next stop and open the back door and I went on through there...there was SO MUCH ROOM and there even was a seat in the back. People are just too damn ignorant sometimes.
  15. Just saw 4241 on the B44 a little under an hour ago with the new paint scheme. The numbering is on the blue stripe and not above it in blue lettering.
  16. Hahahahahaha it's all good man. It's been years since I've got into a fight with anyone...last fight I had was with my older brother back in 2008 when I was 16 but that's pretty much it. I kept my cool with strangers but I let them know that it's not serious as they make it out to be. A few weeks ago people were pushing their way into the subway car before the doors closed...I move in as much as I can and STILL there are people pushing and grazing past me catching an attitude thinking I'm in their way. I just tell them straight up to relax themselves and not make it a big issue that they're making it out to be. I don't tolerate people disrespecting me like that especially strangers in the subway or bus, but I have a way of talking to them to let them know that I'm not looking to fight, but that I'm not going to stand down and just take being pushed around because of their lack of consideration thinking it's all about them and no one else.
  17. You know you can stop by my job whenever you want to ! lmao
  18. Lol...I remember a few months ago I was at the Wendys by the SI Mall and I almost got into a fight with some homeless guy because he was asking me to get him something to eat and I was ignoring him. He had a cane and a pushcart on him and then he started to stand over me cuz I was thinking he wanted to fight me...next thing you know I picked my longboard off the floor and stood up to him with my board next ti me to let him know that I had a weapon to use if he tried to start something with me. He walked out of the restaurant disgruntled as hell. I laughed it off afterwards.
  19. I am LOVING these 2013 Nova Artics on the B44. I rode 5325 this afternoon heading to work and it still has the new bus smell to it...lol Every year I'm at H&R Block I always see different things on the B44 and B43, the lines that pass right out front of my job. I started working here in 2011 and there have been a lot of changes in terms of bus assignments: 2011: B43: Occasional Orion 5 CNG, sporadic Orion 7 CNGs, regular 1999/2000 New Flyer C40LFs B44: RTS and Orion Next Gens 2012: B43: Orion 5 CNGs got scarce but would still show up from time to time. Orion 7s still making appearances sporadically. 1999/2000 New Flyers still running regularly, and the 2011/2012 New Flyers started coming in. B44: No changes This year: B43: Orion 5 CNGs gone ( ), 1999/2000 New Flyers becoming a rarity, sporadic Orion 7 CNGs, 2011/2012/2013 New Flyers became the new regulars on the line. B44: Nova LFS Artics showing up on the line occasionally. Just started running on weekends now starting last week Saturday (3/2/13). If I return to H&R next year, I wonder what changes will come to both lines. I can see the 1999/2000 New Flyers completely gone and the B44-SBS fully operational with wrapped Nova Artics on the line. Let's see if I'm right.
  20. So I finally sent my G12 out to Canon today to be serviced. Back in September my lens got stuck but I had the camera working again within a month. When Hurricane Sandy hit and the system was free for the rest of the week, my camera was working fine. The Saturday when the fares were reinstated, my camera conked out on me again. Now I'm finally sending out my camera to be fixed. The good thing is, I'm using my college's Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 as an interim camera. They're allowing me to hold on to the camera for as long as I need to. I doubt they'll let me keep it during Spring Break (which starts on the 25th for me), but I won't complain. I should have my G12 back by then I hope.
  21. Yeah people tend to do that if they're not used to seeing a particular bus model on a line after a while.
  22. Looks like I lucked out this morning and caught an Orion 5 on the S79 Select on my may to work this morning...bus 6288. (y)
  23. Every time I see Taylor Swift's name, it makes me think who's the next person that she's going to write a song about. She just broke up with the One Direction guy Harry Styles, only a matter of time she writes a song about it, maybe to be called "Wrong Direction". Hell I'd rather listen to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" over Tayor Swift's crap.
