  1. Hello, Has anyone tried to delay their hiring and have their list # restored? I am currently in the 750's and must need to delay the hiring until further noticed. I went to 1 centre street and the girl in the 21st floor told me that when they contact you, you ignored the response and when you are ready come back and have it restored. My question is is this how it work? I just need confirmation as I dont want to missed out by false infromation. and also, if I do get my number restored, in your experiences, do you usually get back up a while before you get hired, or that once you are restored, you should be in the next few wave of hiring? Thanks so much for the reply

  3. How does relisting work? when i do get relisted would I be avaibile to be called ahead of the people whose's list number are after the appointed number at the time i relist? or would I be positioned ahead of the certified number at that time? or neither? I am currently in a medical program and would loved to have this position in case I end up dropping out becuase it's too hard.
  4. k, thanks. I have a slightly more complcated question now. I know the list is going to be expired in feb. 16, 2015. my list number is around the 700's but I am currectly in a college program that I estimate I would be finished in June 2016. I would like to put my position in hold, as I was told i can do that, and get my number relisted when I am ready. In case college does not go well for me and let say I relist right before the date the list expired, would I still be called after the list expired? or do I have to plan ahead and relist sooner than the expired date so they can hired me before the expired date.
  5. hey guys I have a question. When the Certified # has reached you, are you susposed to be contacted?
  6. sorry for the newbie question but how many people are on this promotional list before they start hiring from 8094?
  7. Hi. I was wondering what #'s they are hiring to so far on the exam #8094? or they haven't started hiring from the list yet?
  8. Hmm.. that is not really that much to be honest. say you are a conductor currently waiting to retire. the last time I can recall is that they make 24.99 an hour. if it is half of that that would mean 12.50 X 40 hours = 500 X 4 weeks = 2000. I don't know if the money is subject to tax as well, but if it doesn't, yea its nice to packet 2,000 dollar ever month until you die but it doesn't match the hype that a pension job seems to generate.
  9. I have a very Newbie question so sorry if this is obvious. I Google and I couldn't find a direct answer. How does the MTA pension actually work? So if I am in the 30/62 pension does that mean I have to work 30 years and be at least 62 years of age to get pension, and when I do get pension, How much much do I actually get, said MTA paids bi-weekly, do I get Bi-weekly checks when I retire and it is based on the average paid of my salary for all the years I have worked in the MTA and do I get the checks until I die?
  10. Oh thank you for that, how positive are you on this?
  11. Hello all, I want like to know when will be the next train operator exam, Open competitive or promotional?
  12. I actually got a question, say that I am in school at the moment when they called me, my list number is 757, can I actually tell them to delay my hiring and when I am available when I am off the semester, that they can call me, sort of push back my list number sort of speak.
  13. is the last t/o test given as a promotion exam, and or they all given as a promotion exam instead of open competitive and you have to be promoted from a conductor?
  14. Hi, all. This question might have been asked here before, but I was wondering how many people/class do they accept per time that they hire? will it be that whenever they need people, they would just call people from the list? or do they recruit certain amount of people for training in a scheduled courses they already arranged?
