Looks like we got some more confusion on this...I was under the impression the cars were going to be assembled in Lincoln, NE like the M8's, as Kawasaki's plant in Yonkers currently has their hands full with the R188 subway cars...

More than likely the carbodies will be made in Lincoln. Yonkers site is used for final assembly and testing

A car and C car linked up.07/30/13
That's the set being used for crew training.
Not sure if this is true or not, but I did hear the train was signed up as a in the yard earlier. At this time it wasn't signed up as anything.A friend of mine was there around 7pm and said that the train wasn't there....This was taken around 8;30..So where did it appear from?

There is a full 11 car set ready to go at Corona right now.I took this yesterday.

Its going to be hard to sell this to NYCTA.Nova and New flyer has the TA wrapped around their fingers.all it takes is for Millenium to win a major city order like SEPTA,CTA or NYCTA and they are in business!

But the rumor mill is saying that the R62As on the might be going back to the once the R188 arrives.Someone on the east side will be pissed,NIMBYSNo trains are being replaced. Plus the is going to be extended to the westside, so it'll need a few extra trains,

Yep I seen that set yesterday at ENY still signed up as aThe R46's run like shit on the , the R46's are unreliable and overused, thats why they have had problems, ever since the R32's popped up on the the has been much better, and the is better with the R46's, BTW ANOTHER R42 was sent BACK to ENY, that Leaves 1 Trainset

They probably will. The R179 order isn't a joint order with Kawasaki, but if the TA learned anything from the R46 with its original trucks, then maybe they should throw Kawasaki sneakers on them....Just to be safe.I'm going out on limb by saying that those trucks are most likely not going to be used on the R179s?

God let the foam run free if the R32 is placed on the ...even for 5 minutes on a relay track!! LOL

Remember what Denzel Washington's character did in the Pelham123 remake. He cheated the Canadian railcar builder out of the order, since the japanese builder offered him some green under the table...There you have it...Denzel is behind the R179 shenanigans order.

Another reason why these aren't running on the is because they are problematic on the far rockaway branch power grid. These Trains were messing up substations in Far Rockaway which is LIPA territory (Long Island Power Authority) The R160 requires to much juice in that area.Dont get me wrong I also think the TA doesnt want these running through High vandalism areas along the in brooklyn.Notice all the scrappers last runs are on the line.A la R40 slant,R42,Most R32s and of course the R44 *sniff*

Can you guys imagine if Budd actually won the R62-62A order? Those models would last well over 50 years.

I would have loved to see the R44 get a SMS,but in that case they need a 1991 overhaul all over again. The TA could seriously build a new frame for them in-house with some outside expertise.

Graffiti wasn't just an artform,it was a way to communicate with a can.Remember there was no facebook or twitter or online gameplay,so you had to find other way to kill time. Some of the artist like SEEN,DONDI AND LEE became famous from this era with their work displayed round the world.I though painting trains white was a dumb idea, but it was intentionally done to determine which lines were heavily bombed with graffiti,so it was no surprise that the IRT cars got it the worst through Brooklyn and the Bronx.Stainless steel cars were less desierable to deface...It washed off to easily.I've gotta say, i don't understand what's so fun about graffiti. If you want to put your name on something that everyone will see, fine, but don't do this. Also, it's hard to belive this car was painted white:
It looks almost like a faded redbird.

Of course Jamaica's R160 has many problems,do you see what lines they are serving? Express in queens is enough to bring any train down to its chassis. The ONLY R160's that are doing Perfect is the ENY ones, The Jamaica ones are alright but they have their problems, The R160's from CI are not badand you guys can't outspeak a Train operator
so quit it, I been on R32's that run good and with problems
The R160's run like shit sometimes just like other subway cars.

It has been modified, drilled and rearranged and it still didnt stop the cracking.By around 1980 they reported 1200 cracks on all the rockwell trucks.Could have been modified though.0

Question. So I've heard that the R211 trucks are different from the R160s KW-155 Trucks. To me they look very identical. Can someone clear this up?
