  1. The MTA will get the list numbers in order when they gather up ALL of the test answers. The list #'s will begin with those that are Veterans, which will accredit extra points, and then the regular folk. Those who got 100% on their test will get a low list number, and it gets greater when you score the least number, which is 70%. We will definitely find out soon on how many people took the test and pass between 100 and 70%.
  2. The proposed key answers are out. You can check it out from the mta.info site. The test I took was a make-up test, held at the MTA H/R building on May 20th. I got two answers wrong on the test, so my score is 95%. Not bad, but I wanted a high score. Reason is because there are A LOT of people that took this easy test. So, I figure that my list number is going to be in the three or four digit category. Lol!!! Good luck to all of you, and I hope that you have a high score.
  3. My condolences to whoever was in the middle of training yesterday and clipped their mirror on a truck on 3rd Ave around 14th. Tough break, supervisor did not look impressed. Ouch!!!!! That's going to leave a mark.
  4. Very well put, This is very informal to this thread. Thanks.
  5. Then I guess that either we won't meet this next class date, or they would probably push the class date back until the background checks are officially done for our group. No matter what the answer may be, we still got to wait patiently, again.....lol.
  6. OK, just checking. Hopefully, they will either call or send a letter to let us know. Is there anyone else who heard or read anything? Let us know. Or, if you would like to call the Human Resource Center, they can give you the answers. Cool. I thought that I was the only one. Now, I can breathe better. Lol!!
  7. Just curious, did anyone from this thread got a call from MTA as to whether they have been accepted to attend training class for Traffic Checkers yet? Last time I heard is that training starts on March 11th.
  8. Keep the information coming SubwayGuy. Reading this entire thread is getting me ready, even though my list number is in the 3000s!!! And get this, I scored this exam with a 90!!!! Figure that out!! Lol!!!
  9. Well, it all depends. My list number is 171, and they called me in for the orientation and paperwork since February 7th. So now, there in the process of doing a background check on those who came on the 7th and the 8th. We're talking about more than 100 people. If all of them happen to clear the background check, they will now enter training class on March 11th. So, by the time they do all that, they will begin to call in another group of 100 or more people to go through the same process. So, by your list number, I could be wrong, but it might take less or more than a year, between september to maybe january. But, again, I could be wrong about the length of months. Keep checking the status of list numbers by either calling MTA, or reading this particular forum. I know for a fact that before I was called in, there was another person that I was talking to in this thread, and he was called in by october of last year. His list # was 23, while mine was 171. So, it comes to show that this will take some time and patience. The MTA moves at their own pace. In the meantime, I got to see if I will be called in to take this training class before March 11. Good luck to you.
  10. There is no drug test offered for this position sdlaeus.
  11. Cool. Hope that they call you very soon.
  12. Well, I went to the Human Resources department at the MTA this morning. Went through the orientation for about an hour with the trainers, and then handed in my application along with my documents. Now, all I got to do now is wait, again. They said that their next training class will take place on March 11th. That's a month from now in order for the MTA to thoroughly check everyone's background. Good luck to everyone.
  13. I don't know. I'll find out when I'm there tomorrow morning.
  14. Well, try it out and see if you can squeeze this into your schedule. If it suits you, make the move. If not, then there's no need to hold on to it. But, you'll get the experience on how this job is. Cool. Give us some stories of the good, the bad, and the ugly side of things within those 5 years. It can help us out on what to look for.
  15. It's 171 Sambodden107. Did you take the same exam?
  16. BAM!!!!! I got my letter today!!! I have to be at the Human Resources office by February 7 at 8am. Is there anyone else that received their letters? See you on the 7th.
  17. That's not bad at all. I'm looking forward to this next phone call from transit, if they ever call. But, as always, we've got to be patient. If there's any other updates, please let us know of what to expect.
  18. Not bad. Have you also chose your RDO's for the week, or do you have to wait to gain some seniority in order to get your own days off?
  19. Sounds cool. So, you're probably working various hours and days depending on the particular run on that depot. Man, I wish that I was working now. Congrats on the three months on the job. Question, how long is the probation period for this position?
  20. What's up bknightshadow45. It's been a while since our last post. How are you making out for this new year as a bonafide traffic checker?
  21. OK. Did they also mention as to when they will start calling people for the next class?
  22. I guess that pretty much sums it all up in a nutshell. Is there a final test after the training?
  23. Hey, that's cool. So, what was entailed during the whole month of training? I'm all ears over here!!
