  1. I don't understand your changes!

    (D) train - 8th Avenue Express downtown. Normal CPW service.

    (B) train - 8th Avenue local downtown. Normal CPW service.

    (F) train - 8th Avenue Express uptown. Runs via the 53rd St tunnel

    (M) train - 8th Avenie Local uptown.

    (M) train

Please, check a track map - these changes are quite unrealistic.

    http://www.nycsubway.org/maps/track.html

    Here's what I'd do:

(B)(D) Trains run in two sections - Bronx to 2 Av, via the (C) between 145 and W4 St, and West 4 St to Brooklyn.

    (C) Downtown trains run express from 145 to Canal Sts.

    (F) Uptown trains stop at the express track at 42 and 47/50 Sts.

    (M) to Broad St.

PS Here's the unusable tracks, highlighted in black:

  2. Buses are pointless because there are so many subway lines nearby. But if it's necessary:

    BUS1: 2 Av - Grand St - Delancey/Essex

BUS2: Canal St - City Hall - Cortlandt St - Rector St - South Ferry/Whitehall St.

    (B) No trains between 34 St-Herald Sq and Whitehall St. Reduced service in Brooklyn.

    (D) No trains between 2 Av and Whitehall St - take the (F) to connect between sections.

    (R) Trains run via the Manhattan Bridge in both directions.

    NEXT

The outside tracks at 47/50 Sts are unusable.

Reroute: southbound (B)(D), northbound (F)(M), anything else as needed

  3. (N)(Q) Run via tunnel

    (Q) Selected trains run via the (B) to 47/50 Sts, then via the (F) to wrong-side 63 St, terminate there (now that the wall has been taken down), wrong-rail via 57 St/7 Av to the other level of 63 St, merge with the (F), then the (B), back to Brooklyn.

    (R) Trains run via the (D) line between Atlantic Av/Barclays and 47/50 Sts, then via the (F) to 36 St, Queens.

    NEXT

No trains can pass City Hall, or the Manhattan Bridge north side. NOTE: all outer-boro lines must have the same tph to Manhattan as before.

    Affected: (6), (B), (D), (R), others as needed

  4. M to 14th/8th? Dude, check the track map. Not only is that impossible but also illogical. Also check the track map for the 6 to 68th Street; that doesn't work either. (why not just send the 6 express if the 5 is diverted already?)

It could theoretically work, with a relay TO, using the middle track south of 34 St. Agreed, however, it is not ideal. About the (6), 59 St would be better. And since the (6) runs ~30tph, the (4)(6) would be too much for one track, so some (6) trains are short-turned.

    NEXT

No trains may enter or pass through Delancey Street/Essex Street (F)(J)(M)(Z).

    (C) No trains between 2 Av and Euclid Av.

    (F) Trains run via the (A) line between West 4 St and Jay St.

    (J) No trains between Marcy Av and Broad St.

    (M) No trains between 2 Av and Myrtle Av.

    (Z) No trains between Marcy Av and Broad St.

    NEXT

All uptown tracks are closed east of 7 Av at 23 St.

    Affected: (4)(5)(6)(B)(D)(F)(M)(N)(Q)(R)

  5. NEXT: The 53rd St - Lex Station is closed. The (E) and (M) lines cannot pass through the station. Neither can the (6). Lexington Ave express tracks can though.

    (E) Trains run via the (F) line in both directions between West 4 St and Jackson Hts.

    (M) Trains run between 14 St/8 Av and Metropolitan Av.

    (5) Trains run via the (2) between 149 St and Nevins St in both directions.

    (6) The last stop on some southbound trains is 86 or 68 St. Other trains run express from 125 to 42 St.

    NEXT

    The following locations are impassable:

    23 St (N)(Q)(R)

The 8 Av tracks at 53 St ( (A)(C) only)

Reroute: (A)(C)(N)(Q)(R), and anything else as necessary

  6. (A) No trains between 34 St and Chambers St.

    (B) Suspended

    (C) Suspended

    (E) 8tph run via the (M) line between W4 St and 5 Av/53 St. Other 7 tph run via 63 St and terminate at 42 St-TSQ (Broadway), on the express tracks.

    (M) No trains between Broad St and 71 Av.

    (L) No trains west of 3 Av.

    (1) No trains south of 34 St.

    (2) Trains run via the (5) in Manhattan.

    (3) No trains south of 96 St.

    NEXT

The two uptown tracks are impassable at 8 Av/53 St.

    Affected: (A)(C)

  7. (A) No trains between Jay St and Chambers St. Local in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

    (C) Suspended

    (F) No trains between York St and Essex St.

(N)(Q) Trains run via the tunnel to provide additional service at Jay St.

(D)(N) Trains run local between 36 St and Atlantic Av/Barclays to provide additional service for passengers at 4 Av/9 St.

    NEXT

    4 Av/9 St impassable.

Rules: All lines (except 4 Av obviously) must have the same tph to Manhattan as before (or more).

  8. Where are they on one track except at W. 4th? That is inevitable. Some (A) trains also short turn at Canal Street.

If you look carefully, there is a way around the problem. Here's what I would do:

    (A) Uptown trains run via the (F) line from Jay St to B'way Laf. After B'way, trains switch to the express tracks (to avoid interfering w/ (E) trains) and run via the (D) to 59 St.

    (C) No trains between Chambers St and 34 St.

    (E) Uptown trains run via the (M) line between West 4 St and 5 Av/53 St.

    (F) Unaffected.

    (M) No trains between Chambers St and 71 Av.

  9. (4) No trains between Borough Hall and Utica Av.

    (4) The last stop on selected southbound trains is Bowling Green.

    (5) Uptown trains run via 7 Av in Manhattan.

    (5) The last stop on selected southbound trains is Atlantic Av.

    (3) Rerouted, after Franklin Av, to Flatbush Av.

    NEXT

Because of a smoke condition, the uptown tracks are closed at 8 Av/23 St.

    Reroute: (A)(C)(E)

  10. Is that late night or all times?

    If late night:

    (E) No trains east of Court Sq.

    (F) No trains east of 21 St-Queensbridge.

    (7) Additional trains run between Times Sq and 74 St.

    BUS1 - every 10 minutes - Court Sq - 21 St - Queens Plaza/Queensboro Plaza - 36 St - Steinway St - 46 St - Northern Bl - 65 St - Roosevelt Av.

    BUS2 - every 10 minutes - Roosevelt Av - all stops - Union Tpk

    BUS3 - every 10 minutes - Roosevelt Av - Union Tpk - Van Wyck Bl - Jamaica Van Wyck - Jamaica LIRR - Parsons/Archer - Parsons Bl (F) - 169 St - 179 St.
