  1. Looks like the R32 will be getting it's final rehab work before it's long overdue retirement by no later than 2016. http://mta.info/news...ries/?story=804
  2. Threxx there a great amount of music before 2007(I assume that as far back you remember music)and not Drake, Justin Brieber, Beyonce, etc. Inlcuding the 1980's my decade. When you get to high school i am sure you start to like 20th Century music and before that classics from Mozart, Beethoven, etc. Speaking of oldies here a great disco song that was among the first sampled ever in music. Walter Murphy's "Fifth of Beethoven' from sampled a classic Beethoven song. Plus was on the lengedary Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
  3. Correction. A singer called Maxwell (Motown Records Founder/Owner Barry Gowdy's son) sang the leads. MJ sang background vocals. And my pick for tonight. "try Jah Love"
  4. Oh yes! The summer is over and it's back to work and school for most of us on the boards. And it's that time for one of the great tv sports theme ever IMO. Started on ABC in 1970 and now on ESPN for since the 2006 season. The oringal MNF theme.
  5. One of my all time favorite songs. A disco classic. Or a song for the AARP crowd like me. "Relight My Fire"
  6. While it's a cool song for the teen world lol got say this. I am now playing here no doubt the biggest hit of summer 2012, which is a debut single teen from Canada Carly Rae Jepsen. Jepsen was discovered by Justin Briber on his new record company. Someone please tell me how Briber(not a fan of his) is one of the most popular pop stars in the world? And how Jepsen on her debut single has the 2nd biggest hit of 2012 so far? Unless you been u been under a rock you heard this song everywhere at sportsbars, shopping centers, etc over the past 2 months. Carly Rae is already being called the next Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Britney, Chris aguilera and of course Beyonce as the first new "Breakout" Hip-Hop/Pop Artist of this new decade aka the 2010's. Someone explain lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHv7t42v07M
  7. Hard to believe it's over 15 years since this was a #1 smash. Coolio's "Gangsta Paraside" which sampled a 1970's Stevie Wonder song "Ghetto Paraside." Nearly 2 decades later this still remains one of the longest reigns of a Hip Hop song ever on the Billboard pop charts.
  8. Heard Andre' 3000 aka Andre Benjamin just started production in biofilm to play Jimi Hendrix in a movie on lenegdary rock star. It suppose to debut towards the end of 2013 or early in 2014. Its basically an unauthorized film not endorsed by Hendrix's estate run by his Dad/remaining family. http://en.wikipedia....wiki/André_3000 And a Classic Hendrix song as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmYHxrZE9HY
  9. Young man (Jamaica) do a youtube search of them. If you into old school R&B/POP they are a really good band IMO. During the late 1970's/early '80's(before Hip Hop busted onto the scene)they were among the world's most popular R&B/Pop/Dance bands. Also they a local metro area band with most of the members oringally from Jersey City/Newark, NJ area. Here a couple of their biggest hits. They several more but touching the surface. 1)Summer Madness(will smith sampled this for his early '90's hit "Summertime) 2)Celebration their only #1 pop hit 3)Open Seasme (Saturday Night Fever soundtrack)
  10. Hey! I really enjoy a few Kool and Gang songs. Amazingly i dont i dont they are in the rock and roll hall of fame.
  11. This song is memory of astronut Neil Amstrong. Also used as theme on Dick Clark's American Bandstand in the 70's and early '80's.
  12. Metro North was rebuliding the Tarrytown station. Thus probably reason for the track change.
  13. Another old folks song! An '80's classic from new wave/modern rock super group from Down Under "Inxs." Here their 1st major US hit from summer of 1986. I know the teens will post another song faster than a bad cheeseburger from McDonalds lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSME53nL8tg
  14. An early 1970's Motown classic that went to #1. A story of a 'player' without the use of cursing. In 2012 american society however this dude would be on the maury povich show lol.
  15. True. Now the kiddes have the reality shows crap. Growing up between the late 70's-early '90's you had so many great tv theme songs. Take this another all time classic tv theme from the now legendary night time soap opera/drama(not the recent crappy reboot on Turner lol)of the 1980's "Dallas." They just dont make them anymore.
  16. Not bad. However late nights between 1230am-6am and on sunday mornings until 8am it should make all B41 stops along Flatbush. Plus the Arverne should run only when the Q22 and Q52 are not running.
  17. Joe you wish is my command. The theme was made by lenegndary music producer/entertainment mogul Quincy Jones best know for producing several Micheal Jackson albums and being a co-creator of "fresh prince of bel air' starring Will Smith. Enjoy.
  18. Nope! That was another blue eyed "white" soul group (wild cherry) with a 1-hit wonder that sounded like KC. This is KC lol who had a much longer carrer lol.
  19. Oh yes! In memory of some who can't dance lol! Listen everyone a great funny pop/disco classic from 1976.
  20. *Bump* lol. With the elections coming up here the theme music to NBC Nightly News in the 1970's and early '80's. My mom and sister told me i used to dance to this lol whenever it came on in my early grade school days lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-qhX_Ps5XI
  21. Some Stevie Wonder reggae mun! 1)Master Blaster (1980) 2)Reggae Woman (1974) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIyGMo-nYNU&feature=fvst
  22. One of my all time favorite songs. First performed by Sting and the Police in 1983. Then redone almost 15 years later by Sean Combs upon tragic murder in 1997 of Biggie Smalls. Here one of the few oringal all time pop music classic and its remake to spend at least 8 weeks at #1 on Billboard charts in its reign atop the US charts *twice*. 1)the 1983 oringal by Sting and the Police 2)1997 remake by Sean Combs and Faith Evans as tribute to Chris Wallace aka Biggie Smalls. I be missing you (every breathe you take)
  23. Shifting gears. Here a #1 song from the mid 70's by Rocker Steve Miller. Then it sort of returned to top of charts in 2001 as it was sampled in global #1 by Shaggy called "Angel."
  24. Bro hey you stole it from me! I also listed "Just another Day" few weeks ago! Peaked at #5 on pop charts in 1992 and spent many weeks at #2 on Adult pop charts as well. Great song.
