  1. Oh where to begin, where to begin? Not gonna happen. The fact is people should be happy that the ridership is good enough to maintain the 194 going to Newfoundland and196/197 going all the way Warwick. I talked to a Wayne supervisor a couple of months ago @ Willowbrook. Those 3 lines are pain in the asses when the weather is bad or if a bus gets disabled out there. Between ShortLine and Metro North, Port Jervis is well covered.....it has the amount of service that that it can support. You have alot of plans considering NJT can't tell ShortLine jack about what to do with the X-84-PA because NJT has nothing to do with that line. In this great plan what do you do with the people that come down outta Hawley and Honesdale.....there are alot of commuters that come out of there. Also those buses are unofficially "helper" buses for Orange County. If say a Monroe bus goes over and the PA bus has room it will swing in to pick people up and vice versa in the PM. Again you are just throwing things out there when you have no idea how some of these systems work. Not everything is gonna be a quick or "express" ride.
  2. Hopefully you're alright.....AC looks likes it's getting slammed!

Im good just no power n ac is a total mess. Under 5 feet of water. Some of the red light poles have water up to the crosswalk signs!

  3. Your 100% right. Next week I'm gonna try and come down thru Weehawken around the same time and see if another Wayne bus is doing the 128.
  4. I think Wayne might have a tripper on the 128. 7643 came down Blvd East Wednesday morning in service with passengers signed 128 New York.
  5. DeCamp would have pitch a shitfit......and rightfully so. That's their service area....and one that they have well covered.
  6. That is AWESOME! Thanks! You can do the others when you have a chance......THANKS AGAIN!
  7. I'm sorry you up again so soon, but I have 3 requests for Titans. 1st one: 1st frame : X-32-N 2nd frame: NEWBURGH RT 32 2nd one: 1st frame: L-17-H/L 2nd frame: MONTICELLO 3rd one : 1st frame: X-209 2nd frame: KERHONKSON Also if you could have all the lettering the same size at "BENSONHURST" in ThrexxBus B33 sign it would be appricated as that's how the signs look in real life. You can get to these at anytime.....Thanks!
  8. The buses that actually have stops in Union City do extremely good business there. There are alot of buses that cut through U.C. in an effort to avoid 495 adding to an already congested area. Cutting service to U.C. will do more harm than good.
  9. So I guess somebody going from Lakewood to Philly is gonna stand out, huh!
  10. It looks like they give them about 1hr 15 minutes to get from the PABT to New Brunswick via East Brunswick. Mapquest shows 35 mins to get from New Brunswick to Trenton via Route 1. So your looking at 1hr 50mins total...which is comparable to the train. Now mapquest says it's 1hr 20mins express from the PABT to the Trenton Transit Center, again comparable to the train. But given the lack of express service on NJT Rail, I still this that bus would be a money maker.
  11. The main reason why I am proposing a PABT-Trenton line is because NJT is maxed out on the NEC....plus they only run a couple of those so called "expresses". If the schedule from the Port could show a time equal to (or under) the time that it takes the NEC to get to Trenton, I could see those buses doing well. I was just looking at rush hr buses but what Joel and SJP suggested could end up making that line a all day line The AM/PM Peak would see mostly 301X's with a couple of locals thrown in. Midday and Evening would see regular 301s with maybe a X thrown in every 2hours.....I could even see late night service due to the NEC stops at 1am
  12. I still think there is a need for bus service between Trenton and the PABT. It could be an extension of CUSA/Suburban's New Brunswick service, rush hour express only.
  13. For the 139, You have the full 139 Lakewood via Freehold Mall/Center then 139 Old Bridge P/R Only 139 Union Hill P/R 139 Freehold Center 139 Howell Twp/Casino Dr 139 Howell Twp/Aldrich Rd Then you have a couple of 139s that start at Freehold Center and run down to Lakewood. I'm assuming these are put ins from Howell.
  14. Were you driving 8914 on Thursday? Saw a younger dude fighting his way into the Port...he had that " I'm new" look alot of us have when we are rookies.ok.

  15. I was down in A.C. yesterday. Those 507/508s are crazy packed.

I had to park out at Hanson's and I didn't feel like staying out there all day so I made my way back to A.C. Folks at Egg Harbor drive the shit outta those RTSs!

  16. I didn't know Surburban had any 10 speeds. I know Community and Suburban had thosr 26xxx series orignally and then I thought they transferred them all to Shortline. You learn something new everyday!

I have a love/hate relationship with the Js. I love the turning radius and baggage space but hate the mirrors and that wallowy ride. I do my best to stay away from them at Peter Pan. The 'Hools are nice, I drove them at DATTCO....they can be a handful in the wind (the Js are bad in the wind too!) but I liked those buses.

So now they are doing training in Elizabeth....before everybody was going to Paramus. But that yard in Elizabeth is huge so maybe that's the best place. In anycase the ShortLine guys don't stay long anyway.

If you ever see a Peter Pan D4505 with the sign saying "RED SOX" that's me!

    See ya out there!

  17. Don't worry we all are nervous in the bus lane. Having oncoming bus traffic moving at 45+mph makes for an interesting morning. Not to mention when traffic comes to a dead stop and you are moving at 30....I've scared myself a couple of times!

I have my official interview with ShortLine on the 19th. I did talk to one of the dispatchers for a couple minutes when I dropped off my application and he said training should be easy since I've been driving so long. He thinks I'll only be in Paramus for a week or two before coming to Mahwah to do line training. Plus I decided to be nosy last week and rode up to Monticello and back. Those D4500s with the 10 speed semi-automatic transmission are great!

How Suburban work? The only reason why I wouldn't go there is that I don't really want to do charters. If I could just do the commuters then I wouldn't mind that at all.

  18. They took 3 D4000s from Meadowlands and gave them to Oradell? That explains why the 329 is a NABI line now! And what up with them taking MCIs from Academy? But then again the Academy units are probably the best maintained....anywhere else (especially the CUSA units) are gonna be suspect. NJT is turning into the MTA with the bus moves!
  19. Just wondering if you had your "trail by fire" yet? They 495 helix, Lincoln Tunnel and upstairs at the Port can be a bit much for newer drivers.

  20. You guys short MCIs? I'm kinda shocked since it seems like NJT is snatching more and more MCIs from Academy.

  21. I just saw a pic that they had a Nova on the 553 today......you must be bullshit! lol

  22. It's because it's also the Daimler Service Center. But Academy runs the Newark Airport Shuttle from there, and they do service to the MCI fleet there also.
  23. I figured as much. I did hear something about that but I thought it was state employees not NJT. Guess I gotta look for a cheap place in Jersey!
