  1. I figured as much. Since the reconstruction on Springfield Blvd, I've seen a few buses that couldn't make that U turn down there at 145th Road. There were few changes in the area traffic wise once the reconstruction was done.....
  2. A change that wasn't mentioned was the Q77 terminal change in Springfield Gardens. Is this also permanent or just for the summer?
  3. Yep. I normally get the 11:02 train to Huntington which goes straight to Jamaica instead of the 11:05pm Babylon local which makes connection to the Far Rockaway train. There was a sick customer aboard the Huntington, so the Babylon train went first. We followed the Babylon all the way to Jamaica instead of running around on the "express" track... Some people take the 11:02 because the 11:05 is usually SRO.... Quite a few people missed that connection........
  4. I remember that buses went through the parade(late 80s to mid 90s). I remember the NYPD stop the parade traffic and the B46 would continue through Eastern Pkwy to its destination. However, the B14/17 always stop short of the Utica Ave terminal for obvious reasons.....
  5. Hmmm, when I move within the next month, looks I still qualify under your guidelines......
  6. Well, thanks to the snowstorm, I got to ride both 8090 and 8503 for my trip home the other night......
  7. So............ ........When was the Kings Plaza bound B47 bus stop at the Sutter-Rutland station removed???
  8. SBS Vending machines are going up in the Rockaways....
  9. Back in the day, the Ridgewood bound B52 bus route ran on Quincy Street. I remembered when we used to transfer from the B46 to the B52 to head over to my cousin's house in Bushwick, we had to walk up the block and around the corner on Quincy for the B52... The B26 always ran on Halsey St in both directions. Halsey St is definitely tighter than Gates Av. Especially North of Broadway...
  10. Its about time that they're adding Fulton St Exp to the uptown R46 signage....
  11. MTA tried again in the 90s. The B50 was put back on Flatlands Avenue shortly thereafter.....
  12. You have to remember, that on midnights, there are track gangs and flagging that fan throw a train off its schedule. That's just the beginning......
  13. I remember when the original B50 was rerouted onto Avenue K between Flatlands and Kings Highway in both directions. It didn't last long.... I believe that this was in the 90s when I was in high school.....
  14. I noticed a couple of Orion VII on the Brewer routes over the past few days......
  15. Just saw JG NF XN40 #744 on Sunrise Hwy by Green Acres Mall heading towards Brooklyn...
  16. Lol at the diner comment. Like a Seinfeld episode.... Yeah, I tried to avoid center chain restaurants in certain areas, like Brooklyn Gateway Center. Just too crowded no matter what time of day it is.... Green Acres is a little better, although now Sonic is getting a lot of attention..... The Bx29 is a child of the Bx12....
  17. The only place that I go to on City Island is Sammy's at the end of the island(last stop on the Bx29). I went to one other spot right at the beginning of the island a couple of years ago, but it always been Sammy's... I remember getting stuck on the island for about 2 hours due to a worker from Sammy's that was killed in a hit and run last summer... Seafood City always looked cheesy to me, with the Toyota Scion and its flashing lights in front of the restaurant..... I went to Dallas BBQs in Times Square last weekend. We sat next to a group that was very loud, led by an effeminate male. I was just happy they were finishing up as we sat down. This was about 12:30 in the afternoon. I've been to the Dallas BBQs at the junction. Nice and spacious. Im pretty sure they'll be making their money now with all the graduations coming up.... Give me a nice diner and Im good, although one of my favorite diners, Lindenwood Diner can be lit at times..... The late night barbershops are another story...... As far as Fat Tuesdays, like Jigga said, "Grand opening, Grand closing..."
  18. I know that destination signs on the buses have improved, but still needs some improvement. Especially the destination sign for the southbound B17 and Q17...... Yeah, I know there are better things to talk about, but its a random thought that popped up after riding the Q17 to "Archer Ave"...
  19. As I was waiting for a Q3 at 169-Hillside, I was thinking about the setup around 169th Street with the S/E Queens bus routes pre Parsons-Archer. Any info will be greatly appreciated.....
