  1. Correction... Mrs. Clinton supports whatever she thinks will get her elected.  Just look at her track record... She's the epitome of a phony... She's supported NAFTA which led to millions of jobs being shipped overseas, but yet she claims she's a fighter for the middle class... Really??

I'm not saying Hillary hasn't flipped on issues in the past, but I'd rather vote for a presidential team that supports LGBT rights and marriage equality than a campaign that opposes it (the icing on the cake being Mike Pence's belief that gay people can be "cured" with shock therapy).

  2. This election proved America was sick and tired of being called racist- I can tell everyone here firsthand in the secrecy of the Internet that if I was of voting age I would have voting Trump. As a white man I have been told that " don't know what it's like to be poor." I've also been demonized and told that I, simply because I would consider voting trump, am deplorable, akin to the Klu Klux Klan. I've been told to give away things I've fought for and earned through merit simply because I'm a straight white male. I've been told that blacks can't be racist despite them shooting white cops in the street because they are cops and because they are white. The groupthink that anyone who disagrees with me is a crazy racist is rampant among the left in this country.

Even though I disagree with Trump on tons I'm ecstatic he won, especially since I listened the the media lies and prepared for him to lose. It's such a huge slap on the face to the dying left which calls those it disagrees "homophobes, nationalists, Islamophobes, sexists, racists". There is nothing that makes me laugh more than the babyish crying of the left now that Trump is out President Elect. Shows that the prog-left can dish it out but they sure as hell cant take it.

Some examples that I think are hilarious of liberals being babies on this forum:

"Regardless, my world and the Muslim, Latino, Hispanic, LGBTQ, and "brown" people in its orbit has been shattered."

    "Just absolutely disgusting."

"When Vladimir Putin Is The first guy to congratulate u on winning that alone speakes volumes of where were headed...World War 3 is in the vey near future...Watch"

"Trump is the new President… And so homophobes, nationalists, Islamophobes, sexists, racists, and maybe a sexual predator enter position of power that risk setting this country back 70 years. God help us now."

If you recognize yourself in any of these especially if you say your "world has been shattered" go f**k yourself.

    Oh really?

I honestly understand the frustration felt by those who have lost manufacturing jobs. I come from a blue-collar family after all. But there were other issues at stake in this election.

I'm able to check off a couple of "minority" boxes, but let's just focus on the LGBT part for now. I work in law in Manhattan and was recently offered a position in North Carolina for a top law firm. I had to reject that offer because North Carolina, along with 30 other states in the country, can legally fire me if they were to ever find out about my sexual orientation.

With marriage equality being the law of the land, I could get married on Sunday and fired on Monday. Ms. Clinton supports the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which would prevent this from happening. Meanwhile, Mr. Trump and his Republican-led Congress will make sure nothing like this will ever pass under their rule.

I guess the anger and monumental disappointment I'm feeling right now makes me a "crybaby".

  3. anyone planning to ride the first (W) train (W train party) this yr?

I'm up for it if others are (especially if you're talking about the first (W) leaving Ditmars).

Very insignificant thought, but I wonder how they'll address the re-addition of the (W) on the (2) and (5) programs. Seen in the video below, there was a dedicated transfer announcement at Union Sq. So I wonder if they'll bring that back, or just edit in the letter 'W' in the current Charlie Pellett transfer announcement.

I guess we'll have to see. They had Charlie Pellett replace the pre-2010 (5) train weekday announcement for Union Square after the (W) was eliminated, even though it was identical to the (5) train weekend announcement.

  4. Are there new service information signs there too?

It's not at 28th as of today, and I haven't seen them yet at any Manhattan/Queens (N) station.

I can say that 23rd Street's station entrances have also been replaced with the (R) / (W) signs. I think they're looking to have the entrance signs reflect how they're listed on the November 2016 map (depicting only weekday service, i.e. R.W).

  5. I just read this following update to the (N) train Wikipedia page:

"N trains that currently short-turn at 57th Street will be extended to 96th Street using the Second Avenue Subway when it opens."

The document it cites (Sub-Division B Train Operator/Conductor Road & Non-Road Work Programs - In Effect: 11/6/16) checks out:

    https://progressiveaction.files.wordpress.com/2016/08/sub-division-b-general-distribution-fall-2016-wp-book.pdf

I guess some N-train-to-Second-Ave. foamers can now rejoice.

  6. The new PATH construction schedule has been released, and I don't understand why the intra-state line between Journal Square and Hoboken runs more often (every 12 minutes) than the train running between Newark Penn Station and WTC (every 20). I can barely grasp by this line exists. Is there really that much of a passenger load between Jersey City and Hoboken?

  7. Does anyone have any idea what they're promoting as the alternative lines for the Queens Blvd Fastrack? (spoiler alert: There aren't any)

I'm guessing there's going to be some sort of a shuttle bus service. People who live around the Northern Blvd station have one helluva walk to get to the (7), and trekking to 46th Street from 31st doesn't sound too appealing either.

  8. I agree with your post. Express trains should stay on the express tracks and and local trains should stay on the local tracks. It keeps the trains moving with minimal delays and allows more trains per hour to be run on the tracks. That's why I've suggested and agreed with others who have suggested sending the (N) to 2nd Avenue with the (Q) rather than keeping it at Astoria and having it switch from the local to the express tracks between 42nd and 34th as it used to before the June 2010 service cuts (and as the (Q) currently does).

I'm not a fan of bottlenecks either, but I do think track switching is necessary on the Broadway Line. Two lines will need to serve Astoria on weekdays based on its sheer volume of commuters. Having them both run local to the Manhattan Bridge would create a bigger bottleneck than there is now, and having them both go via Whitehall Street is out of the question.

I understand that (Q) service may need to be supplemented, but not enough to send another line there. The (Q) can have shorter headways and wait at Times Square, 57th/7th or Lexington/63rd if congestion on the express track gets too bad (sort of what Middle Village-bound (M) trains do at Essex Street in the morning rush since the budget cuts).

Outside of the (Q) terminating at East Side - 96th Street, I say that the Broadway Line should return to its pre-2010 glory days. Maybe it's just me.
