  1. The Q100 is the exact same route as the Q101R. (I know they added the 21st Street stops at some point, maybe around the time they changed the number). It was the Q101 itself that went to Rikers and was eventually cut back to 19th & Hazen and a separate route created that connected the subway stations in Long Island City to Rikers Island (with the transfer point at 19th & Hazen for anyone who still needed to make connections from the Q101)
  2. A few updates from the page: Unfortunately, due to a manufacturer vehicle recall, the new East Hampton on-demand zone will not be launching October 29th. Service on the 10B and 10C will continue according to existing schedules at this time. While we do not yet have an exact date for the launch of the new zone, announcements will be made as soon as more information is available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to launch of new on-demand service soon. Please continue to check back to this website for more information. Please Note: The 92 will operate on its Winter Schedule, effective October 29, 2023. Service Note: Effective October 29, 2023, the northbound 92 scheduled to depart Bridgehampton LIRR at 8:00 AM will now depart East Hampton LIRR at 7:30 AM and Sag Harbor Main St at 7:46 AM, with continued service according to the regular schedule from Bridgehampton LIRR at 8:00 AM. The northbound 92 scheduled to depart East Hampton LIRR at 1:20 PM will terminate at Orient NYS 25/Main St at 4:15 PM, and the northbound 92 scheduled to depart Bridgehampton at 2:15 PM will terminate at Orient NYS25/Main St at 4:45 PM
  3. I think that connection to Jackson Heights would be beneficial. The current B57 terminal is somewhat of a stub.
  4. I think it's generally intended as a catch-all for routes that run less than 7-day hourly service. Yeah, those routes are going to be running for another month or so until they get the microtransit situation sorted out. Keep an eye out for updates on that SCT page.
  5. First day of the new system will be Sunday, October 29th. Interesting enough the S92 will switch to the winter schedule on Wednesday, November 1st.
  6. 2009...along with the Bx4, Q56, M10, and the full B75...2010 they modified some of the proposed 2009 cuts and went after some other lines instead 2010 it was removed
  7. Technically the northbound 24A has been relabeled to 24S (Scotland Road). The 24B is now the 24H (Harrison Street). Southbound, those are 24E and 24J respectively...yeah NJT at it again with these suffixes
  8. Between that and the former DeCamp routes (the #109 physically enters the City of Newark, but obviously the other Essex County routes have an impact as well) they're going to need to revise it anyway. They forgot the #97 and #108 in the original plan (I guess because the #97 doesn't enter Newark and the #108 is an interstate route...but they include the #107...make that make sense). All of the other redesigns are by County (Burlington/Camden/Gloucester, Hudson, Passaic) so it makes sense to just do an Essex County redesign and call it a day. In any case, given the poor service levels on the #44 and the #31 west of Dover Street, my guess is that they might swing the #31 up to cover the western end of the #44 (at least to serve the VA Hospital, maybe if we're lucky they go out to Orange) and leave South Orange with just the #107 for east-west service. I would disagree vehemently with that (if anything I'd say more #31 buses should run to South Orange...if I were in charge I'd run it to St. Barnabas to connect to the proposed 773 to Livingston Mall), but I think it's a possibility.
  9. @B35 via Church I was going to recommend the North Jersey Coast Line to the #317 as another way to get to Philadelphia, but the first train gets there after the first bus already leaves. (The #139 to the #317 might be another option, though). Also, for what it's worth, Amtrak has $10 fares to Philadelphia for the early morning (for example, booking right now for next Saturday, the 4:20am and 6:02am trains out of NY Penn are $10). I think it's something like anytime from 7pm to 7am is considered overnight, and qualifies for the $10 fare. (Unfortunately, the only route that starts there is the #30, which doesn't leave until 9:33am on Saturdays) In any case, as far as buses actually starting/terminating in Center City, you have: * The #23 to Germantown/Chestnut Hill which starts at 11th & Market * The #44 to Ardmore which starts at 5th & Market (first bus out of there is 9am...first bus out of there that serves Narbeth station is 9:31am on Saturdays) * The #38 to Wissahickon which starts at 5th & Market (this one starts at 6:40am). * The #17/21/33/42 which start at Penn's Landing all the way by the waterfront (the #21/42 go towards West Philly, with the #21 going all the way out to 69th Street...the #17/33 are essentially each other's counterparts along 19th/20th Street, with the #17 going towards South Philly while the #33 goes towards North Philly). * The #5 to Frankford and #48 to North Philly (27th & Alleghany) which start at Front & Market (on the non-waterfront side of the highway) * The #61 to Manayunk and #62 to Andorra which start at 9th & Market. * The #12 to Kingsessing which starts at Dock & Front (a couple of blocks west from Penn's Landing, essentially directly over the highway) * The #9 to Andorra which starts at 4th & Walnut * The #16/31/124/125 which start at City Hall * The #45 to South Philly which starts at 12th & Noble (which is north of Center City, but not too far from the NJT stop at Vine & 12th...basically you just cross the highway and walk up a few blocks to catch the bus at the terminal, since it runs down 12th Street) So coming into Center City, a good trip might be #23 to Chestnut Hill, L to Olney, hop on the Broad Street Line for one stop to Fern Rock Transportation Center to catch the #70 to Torresdale & Cottman, #56 to 23rd & Venango, #33 to Penn's Landing, #17 to Oregon Avenue, G to Baltimore Avenue, walk to 60th Street for the #46 to 63rd & Malverne, #65 to 69th Street station, #21 to Penn's Landing and then start heading home from there.
  10. @Mtatransit The S1 service reduction during rush hours was proposed in every variation of the plan. At most, in the frequency-based plan, it would've run every 20 minutes during rush hour. I think part of it is that with remote work, a lot of the office parks along NY-110 aren't as busy as they used to be. (Also, generally speaking, Jarrett Walker's plans tend to revolve around keeping the same frequency all day, for better or for worse). Yeah, the Clipper schedule is messed up. They also have the directions reversed. As far as I'm concerned, for the S80, that route shouldn't exist. Extend the S66 to John Wesley Village if it's that important of a development, and call it a day. I notice that in some cases, they really beefed up the runtime. For example, the S45/3D from Brentwood to Central Islip are scheduled for less than 10 minutes while the S5 is scheduled for over 20 minutes. In any case, here are the (approximate) timeframes where you can wait at a pulse point and have the option of all routes emanating out of that pulse. Amityville: Weekdays 5am - 9pm Saturdays: 6am - 9pm Sundays: 6am - 7pm Bay Shore (Besides the S2) Weekdays 5am - 9:30pm Saturdays: 6:30am - 9:30pm Sundays: 6:30am - 7:30pm Patchogue (Besides the S55) Weekdays 5:30am - 9:30pm Saturdays: 6:30am - 9:30pm Sundays: 6:30am - 7:30pm Riverhead (Where The S80 Clock Symbol Is On The Wrong End of the Route) Weekdays 6am - 9pm Saturdays: 7am - 9pm Sundays: 7am - 7pm (8pm if you exclude the S80) Smith Haven Mall Weekdays 6am - 9pm Saturdays: 7am - 9pm Sundays: 7am - 8pm Central Islip LIRR Weekdays 6:17am - 9:17pm (S52A on evenings doesn't time with other routes) Saturdays: 6:17am - 9:17pm (S6 & S52A time with each other about 30 minutes later) Sundays: 6:17am - 8:17pm (S6 & S52A time with each other about 30 minutes later) Brentwood LIRR Weekdays 6:03am - 10:03pm Saturdays: 7:03am - 10:03pm Sundays: 7:03am - 8:03pm
  11. It's official...updates to be posted on these two pages: https://www.njtransit.com/a-cbus https://www.njtransit.com/coachone
  12. Wikipedia is updated by anyone, usually us transit fans not by the agency itself. But yes, unfortunately it will be a delayed start to the new system.
  13. The new system start is going to be delayed (it won't start October 1st) but is still expected to be sometime before the end of the year.
  14. Yikes, reducing Shore Line East from 23 trains per day to 16...talk about a vicious cycle... The New Haven Line schedule changes (at a glance anyway) don't seem anything too bad. The gap in Danbury Branch service is going to suck though.
  15. Petition is out regarding this issue: https://chng.it/J5wTkwNP7D
  16. I'm guessing just the standard mobile tickets or physical zone bus tickets sold for most other NJ Transit routes.
  17. It's good that they're operating service to Southington, but it should be noted that service doesn't actually go to Downtown Southington, or to the commercial area by West Street & Hart Street. Hopefully they can include that in a future phase (maybe if they eliminate the actual deviations into the stores, they can save enough runtime to extend it to Downtown Southington). Either that, or have the 928 run up through Southington. In Downtown Bristol, they should've really straightened out that whole 541/542/543 situation they have going on there. It takes the same amount of time to walk from City Hall to Gaylord Towers (down relatively pedestrian-friendly streets) as it does to take the 543. At a glance, it seems like they could probably just through-route the 503 and 541 to provide another route between New Britain & Bristol (according to the current schedules, it seems like this is already done...they might as well just make it officially one route) and then through-route the 542 with the 102, while having the 502 serve Gaylord Towers. The other major thing they could've done is fix the schedule of the 101/102. The 101 is literally a short-turn 102. They should've had the 502 extended to Hartford in place of a 101 trip per hour. (So there would be 30 minute headways from Hartford to Bristol, and 10 minute headways from Hartford to New Britain, rather than 12 minute headways on the 101, with a random 102 thrown in every hour).
  18. Good question...in the past, the #199 used to skip some stops between the Main Line overpass and Page Avenue. But now that note is taken away, so it seems like the main difference is that during rush hours, the #199 serves the loop through Nutley, while the #192 runs straight across NJ-3. But off-peak, they should probably relabel all of those #199 trips to #192 trips.
  19. All four routes ran on Sunday. They wholesale just cut all of the evening and Sunday service across-the-board. My guess is ONE Bus is bluffing to try to get NJT to hire them as a contractor for the Newark routes (similar to the #2, #84, and #88). If those routes are running out of the Elizabeth garage, they have all of the overhead costs of operating the garage, for just a fraction of the routes serving it. (If NJT doesn't take the bluff, then I assume they'll still end up eliminating the Newark service, but they might have to renegotiate whatever contract they have for the #2, #84, and #88).
  20. Only took them over 9 years...those double buses are 9pm are a holdover from when the ferry ran hourly after 7:30pm.
  21. I mean they create a huge problem and attempt to fix the mess...can't give them too much credit on that. Definitely don't want to see a SIM2C. That route was just fine running Downtown, and ridership-wise it didn't perform too poorly. (Also, people tend to forget it serves Travis, which also lost its off-peak service when it was cut).
  22. There's some which I've done in full, but not in one shot (for example, I've rode the S44/94 many times in both directions, but I don't recall ever doing a full ride from St. George to Yukon Avenue). Routes that I can recall to have done in full in one shot: S42, S93, B8, Q10, Bx11, Bx18, Bx29 NJ Transit #92, #96, #188, #375, #409, #746, #874 NICE Bus n4, n23, n33, n72 (full route to Babylon), n79 (to Hicksville, not to Mineola), n80 SCT S23, S40, S58, S66 Bee Line: BL-4, BL-7, BL-15, BL-20, BL-61 CT Transit: #255, #261X, #311, #341, #928 Greater Bridgeport Transit: #3, #4, #6, #8 (In that order, highly recommend that combo), Coastal Link (I think it's split between different transit agencies, but every time I've taken it, it was a GBT bus). CDTA: #560, #601 Denver RTD: FF1, MallRide Shuttle Los Angeles Metro: #60 And as a bonus, Spanish Transportation Midtown - Paterson jitney route
  23. Final plan has been released: https://www.septabusrevolution.com/
  24. SEPTA redesign final plan is out: https://www.septabusrevolution.com/
  25. If I remember correctly, I think they said they said they sold about 19,000 so far (so that's around 100 per day on average...likely the later months have more as more people found out about it).
