  1. No offense, but from the responses this thread is getting, I don't think anyone here is interested in the school car experience. Why don't you wait until school car is over and then just write up a summary of your experiences? Reading that would be far more interesting and helpful than reading what you had for lunch.
  2. There is actually no scientific evidence that diet soda and cancer are linked. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/diet-soda/AN01732
  3. "Kept" failing the medical? I only failed the medical once. And I have plenty of friends at Woodlawn. I'm a celebrity there. When I walk through the door, everyone literaly stops what they are doing. I know everyone there on a first name basis.
  4. That's funny because last week I worked the and all 4 trains I worked on during the day were 142As.
  5. Enjoy school car because it will be the last time for a long time that you get to work "normal" business hours. And your lucky you got to choose which division to go to. I wish I had that option.
  6. I carry a big lunch and a 2 liter bottle of soda. And yes, on most days, there is a 2 liter bottle of soda in my bag.
  7. How come you didn't say hello to me Snowblock if you saw me? And carrying a big bag comes in handy because I carry my lunch in there. So if I ever get stuck somewhere, I'm never seperated from my food.
  8. Oh yes, the 3rd rail jumpers. Those are fun. When I did it, I had to do it much longer than everyone in my class because, right when it was my turn, the train dumped. So I had to hold it until the train could re-charge.
  9. Don't worry. School car is not that bad. Before you know it, you will be posting on all the lines.
  10. Where did you hear that the 2009 T/O exam was the last one to be offered as an O/C? That's the first I heard of this.
  11. The best place to live is in NJ because your right in the middle of both divisions so it doesn't matter which terminal they send you to. WHen I get off the bus at 42 st., virtaully every single A div and B div. terminal (with the exception of Far Rockaway and Rockaway Park, perhaps) is less than an hour away.
  12. And learn your signals. You better get a 100% on those signal exams.
  13. They still have Redbirds. They are work trains now. Pick work trains and you'll likely be operating a red bird.
  14. Top pay is $32 an hour. No, your not "on call." You can be on board, which is totally different.
