Got it. As long as you stay in contact with Ms. Rivera, and you follow her instructions, you should be fine.

      Stay safe!!

First, my apologies as far as not replying sooner - I got sick over the weekend and I cared more about feeling better than anything else.

I was reading the forum and although what @Chris127 said to do is a good idea, just to be on the safe side, I would personally focus on the calendar. They say 3 to 90 days for a particular reason, since they have to sort everybody out by list number in order to make it fair to everyone. It's only been about one month for both of us, so I wouldn't worry about it yet. However, if it gets to the beginning of May and you don't hear back, then I would start reaching out not only to DCAS, but to also Livingston Street, especially Ms. Rivera, who is one of the managers (click here for her information).

By the way, just so we're on the same page, what's your list number? I'm in the low 2800's (2800 - 2850).

I'm on the list for other citywide exams that I took through DCAS, in addition to Track Worker and a few others from NYC Transit, therefore this is how I interpret it, based on what I learned:

When an agency, in this case NYC Transit, needs candidates for a particular title, in this case Track Worker, they will pull a certain number of names from the list. This is what happened on May 31st when there were only 75 vacancies, on September 27th when there were 500 vacancies, on January 8th when there were 200 vacancies, and most recently, on March 12th when there are 1,000 vacancies. I have absolutely no clue as far as why they requested 11,000 names for 1,000 vacancies.

Now the reason why they request so many names, such as 1,000 names for 75 vacancies back on May 31st is because, long story short, the agency needs the vacancies filled, and between people not showing up, changing their minds, failing the drug test, having outstanding parking/traffic tickets, criminal records, being placed on medical hold, etc, they can go through a small section of the list very fast. And one of the many things I remember when being processed for Bus Operator back in late 2013/early 2014, in which I would wind up failing the 10-day training session, is that they do not hold vacancies. If someone is able to pass the pre-employment process, followed by medical and final processing, they're anxious to send that person to training to meet the needs of the Department, such as Buses, Track, RTO, etc. within the agency, which is NYC Transit.

Got it? If not, feel free to ask away...
