  1. If this does happen to anyone, I have a solution to "speed up" the process: Back in June of 2017, a former member posted in this post information regarding someone who does sleep studies without going through their Primary Care Physician (PCP) or your health insurance or anything to that nature. I just gave them a phone call on behalf of my "friend," and, for $800, it is a minimum of three [3] sessions to see if you have sleep apnea or not. If not, they will give you a note which you can take straight to the MAC (Medical Assessment Center) to have your Medical Hold cleared. In the event the link breaks, here is the information: Dr. Kala Sury, MD 270 9th Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11215 (718) 965 0708 Now don't feel bad if you're initially diagnosed with sleep apnea. While going through the Bus Operator hiring process for the first time, I was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in my legs. However, after seeing a neurologist, in addition to testing, I was re-diagnosed with muscle spasm in my legs, in which treatment consists of "stretching" on a regular basis. Therefore, you're probably and not the only one who has been mis-diagnosed by these folks.
  2. If you look at the first page of this PDF document, you will see that there were a total of five [5] examinations that were administered. The list for the first examination, Exam 2611, was published this past July, and, according to this post, they have approximately 700 people to go before the publish the next list for the following examination, Exam 2612. Therefore, I believe it is safe to say that it will be at least one [1] calendar year from when the exam was administered, which is October/November of 2023, before anyone will hear anything regarding Exam # 3601. Now, if I had to take an educated guess, based on the number of candidates from the other lists, Exams 2612, 2613 & 2614, I would say that it might take anywhere from 18 months to 2 years from the time the examination was administered (October/November 2022) until we hear anything about Exam #3601. We will see what happens as time progresses...
  3. Please be careful of what you say in this public forum. If this continues, warnings will be given, respectively. As far as your first sentence is concerned, I have been a Bus Driver for about six years now, and, every other year, I have to go for a DOT Physical. Passing these physicals, which allows me to drive various Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV), such as a Tractor Trailer, Coach Bus, etc., is easier than dealing with their MAC (Medical Assessment Center). And, from my perspective, all of this falls under the title of "Safety Sensitive." Therefore, as far as I am concerned, "go figure." (As an example, with their MAC, a candidate's blood pressure has to be in between 110/70 and 130/90. However, from the perspective of my Primary Care Physician, anything between 100/60 to 140/100 is acceptable.) As far as the second sentence is concerned, if you look back at the 300+ pages of this thread of what other people have been through after 180 Livingston, which includes School car, you'll see what you have to contend with. Trust me.
  4. As soon as you walk into 180 Livingston Street, when they call you up to check your documents. However, as per this news article, in which a judge ordered another City agency to rehire workers who rejected the COVID vaccine, I don't know if and when they will stop checking for the Covid vaccine card.
  5. My apologies for "bumping" this thread, however, I am pleased to announce that this list has been extended. The new termination date is now January 6th, 2024. Good luck everyone!!
  6. As per the guidelines, this falls under the heading of "Spamming/Advertising." Now, if you want to share the link with others via Private Messaging (PM), feel free to do so. However, please do not do this in this Public Forum. Next time this happens, further disciplinary action will be taken, which includes, but not limited to, warnings, suspensions, termination of your account, etc. And yes, we do have access to your IP addresses, in the event you try to create a duplicate account. Thank you.
  7. Although this is correct, as I previously stated, as of this typing, the last certification for the titles of Bus Operator, Conductor and Track Worker was back on August 10, 2022. Happy Holidays!!
  8. Would you mind providing some more details? I would not mind taking care of this to the fullest extent possible in a "snap." Thank you!!
  9. If you were to look at this webpage, the last certification from DCAS (Dept. of Citywide Administrative Services) for the titles of Bus Operator, Conductor and Track Worker was back on August 10th, 2022. In addition, if you look at this page, there was a TA Bus Operator class in December of 2022. Therefore, if I had to take an educated guess, the answer is no. With that said, is anyone interested in complaining about this? If so, send me a Private Message (PM) and we will take it from there. Happy Holidays!!
  10. https://www.nytransitmuseum.org/nostalgiarides/ (Facebook Posting) Enjoy and Happy Posting!!
  11. My list number for the same examination is also in the 300's, and, if I have to take an educated guess, I would say they will call us within the next three to six months, maybe sooner. Here are the reasons why, at least from my prospective: -First, when we get the initial e-mail, in which they will ask us to fill out this pre-employment packet, not everyone is going to respond. -Second, not everyone is going to either have their Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) or Commercial Learner Permit (CLP) with the "P" (Passenger) Endorsement and no other disqualifying restrictions, such as "L," "N1" or "N2." I've personally seen people turned away because of this. For those of you who live in New York, if you want to see the full list, click here and scroll to the bottom of the second page. In addition, you cannot have more than two [2] accidents on your abstract and less than four [4] points on your abstract. (If you need help getting your CLP, refer to the instructions within the blue box towards the top of the webpage.) -Third, not everyone is going to pass the drug screening, the physical and final processing. Back in 2014, I got diagnosed with something, and, since I failed the 10-Day Training Session back then, I haven't seen the specialist for this "diagnosis" in years, which no one else seems to notice!! -Finally, not everyone is going to pass the 10-Day Training Session. And for those who do not pass the 10-Day Training session, as I learned the hard way within the past 2 to 3 years, the Department of Buses will produce a memorandum, without the applicant's knowledge, in which, according to the last sentence, with the exception of a typographical error, "are not recommended for rehire in any (other) title." On top of that, with the fact that the people who failed the 10-Day Training Session can not try again for five [5] years, which is mentioned in this post towards the bottom, you'll see how hard and challenging it is, when this entire country is short on Commercial Drivers to begin with. Just play around on Indeed, the results are self-explanatory. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Good luck!!
  12. If you haven't heard anything, just wait. With the fact that the agency did not hire off of Exam 2611 the last time around, it seems that your list number for this particular examination is on the "high" side, meaning that they did not get to you. Therefore, when they reach out to you, be prepared to start from scratch, including handing in a newer version of your pre-employment packet. If you electonically saved the last one, all you need to do is update the information (if necessary), change the date, and you should be good to go! If you wish to speak to someone to confirm this, call DCAS at 212-669-1357. Press option "0" and ask to speak to the List, Management and Audit unit, Monday to Friday, in between 9 AM and 5 PM. Source? There is a TA class starting this Sunday out of Zerega, right? According to this webpage, the last certification was over three [3] months ago...this doesn't sound right... (My apologies if I criticize you, I'm just trying to be as accurate as possible, that's all.)
  13. Although I am not here to criticize you, I do have a few things to say based on your last post: -First of all, from reading the posts of other members, if you call them, they will do whatever they need to do to get off the phone with you as fast as possible. My strong suggestion is to check out this webpage (in which you can type either your last name or "Bus Operator" into the search box) or this webpage. After all, this is "Civil Service," and, it would not be fair to someone who restored their name to a prior list, such as 7612 or 9604 if the agency calls you first before them. After all, just like with other City agencies, the Dept. of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) needs to certify a list of names to the agency, such as New York City Transit, before they can hire people. (As far as 4600 is concerned, as of now, this list is set to expire in early January, so we will see what happens, respectively.) -Second, you are aware that there are only six [6] more weeks left in this 2022 calendar year, right? Therefore, your second sentence does not sound right, especially if the HR Department does not "certify" a list of names within the next week. -Third, mind I ask, when did you take your last drug (urine) test? When did you go for your physical, also known as the medical examination? The reason why I am asking is because the drug (urine) tests are good for thirty (30) calendar days, and the physicals and the pre-employment paperwork are good for ninety (90) calendar days. Therefore, you will probably and most likely have to start from scratch. The good news is that, if you have your pre-employment packet electronically saved, you just need to update your information (if necessary), change the date, and you should be good to go. Good luck!! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
  14. First, I moved the thread and/or topic to the Transit Employment Section. Second, perhaps @SevenEleven can shed some light on this issue? Third, I do have a resource or two who could help you out, however I do not want to share their name on this public Forum. Therefore, if you can send me a Private Message (PM), I would be more than happy to elaborate on this potential resource. (If you're unsure on how to do this, click on the bubble icon on the top right, and click on "Compose New.") Good luck!!
  15. To make a long story short: If you took a drug (urine) test, including at 180 Livingston Street, within the past two [2] years, fill it out. If you never took a drug (urine) test within the past two [2] years, just leave the form blank. (For those of you who have no clue what we are talking about, kindly refer to page 14 of this PDF document.) Good luck!!
  16. Unfortunately, I have some bad news to share: According to this post from the Bus Operator 9618 thread, the agency will not be hiring any more Bus Operators until the first quarter of the 2023 calendar year, which can be anytime between January 3rd and March 31st, 2023. As I stated in my previous post, which can be found right above this one, since this is for a Civil Service Position, the agency has to give preference to the people who are on the lists for Exam 4600 (if they decide to extend it for another year), Exam 7612, Exam 9604, Exam 9618, Exam 2611, and then Exam 2612. Therefore, although they will probably and most likely not hire off of Exam 2612 in between now and March of 2023, hopefully the agency will establish the list for Exam 2612 during this time frame. However, only time will tell. Sorry @Nico718. Although I hate to be the bearer of bad news, I strive to be as accurate as possible whenever I can, based on the posts of other members.
  17. They do pre-employment drug (urine) testing on a Sunday? Interesting... Good luck!!
  18. I believe you got the examination numbers confused. This past August, we took Exam # 2614, and I took Exam # 3601 within the past couple of weeks. As far as waiting to hear back, if you filled out your "Candidate's Record of Answers," I am personally waiting for them to post the Proposed Answer Keys on this webpage. As far as how long we have to wait until we get our official results, including our list numbers, I would say a full calendar year, give/take a few months, depending on the status of the other lists from Exams 2611, 2612 and 2613. As far as waiting to hear back without being annoying, I would check this webpage on a regular basis, which you can do by either typing your last name or the examination number into the search box. As soon as the list is established, and before we even get our results in the mail, they will post all of the information on that webpage, including the total number of people that are on the list. My apologies in regards to the late reply, however, if you are referring to the text that is in bold and in italics in this post, this is the story: If you look at the original Notice of Examination, you will see that the agency was, at one point, anticipated on "hiring provisional Bus Operators approximately two months after each examination period ends." Unfortunately, they changed their mind in which these five (not six) examinations are going to become regular Civil Service Examinations, as per the updated Notice of Examination. Therefore, as per Civil Service rules, the agency has to give preference to those folks who are on the lists for Exam 4600, followed by Exam 7612, followed by Exam 9604, followed by Exam 9618, followed by Exam 2611, and then Exam 2612. However, if you look at this webpage, and if you type "2611" into the search box, you will see that the list for Exam 2611 was established this past July. Although, according to this post, they did not hire anyone off of Exam 2611 as of this typing. Therefore, it's a waiting game. Although this is a City position, will they hire off of Exam 2612 within the next six months? My educated guess: No. Hopefully within the next six months they will establish the list for Exam 2612, however, only time will tell. Sorry...
  19. Would you mind sharing the exam number that you are hoping to get hired off of? If it's for Train Operator, Exam # 7604, according to this website (just type 7604 into the search box), the list has been extended until September 19th, 2023. I just sent you a Private Message. If you can please send me a reply, I would truly appreciate it.
  20. It sounds like, because you are a "bigger guy," they want you to get a sleep study done because of your "neck size." My apologies about the historic posts, however, this particular post came to my mind as soon as I read what you typed. Back in 2017, somebody posted the name of a physician who does sleep studies overnight without going through your insurance or your Primary Care Physician or anything to that nature, which you can find here. I also read that this physician will give you the results instantly, which the MAC (Medical Assessment Center) accepts. Good luck!!
  21. My apologies for "bumping" this thread, however, according to this webpage, this list has been extended to October 17th, 2023. In addition, I also included instructions in the blue announcement box for those who wish to restore their name to the Civil Service List as well. Good luck everyone!!
