agreed, simply put the united states does not need HSR, no matter what company would run it they would lose money which would probally put the economy in a even tighter spot, the United States needs to keep what there doing and thats aircraft's. but if you go a little up North to Canada we could use a HSR heck we already have VIA Rail Canada that does travel all across canada but that's because our country is considerablly smaller than the us.

Do you know how long that'd take? Lol the U.S. Is about the same size as Europe, the distance between NYC & San Francisco is probably like the distance between Moscow and Lisbon.

 

12-13 hours on a train (going 200 mph) when a flight is about 1/3rd of that.

How often you flight from coast to coast? Is it necessary that you can go from coast to coast in 3-5 hours. In the future, business will use skype or something like that.

Do you even know how far it is from San francisco and NYC?

This isn't like flying from Berlin to London.

 

No one in the US is going to want to take a long train ride [thru varying geological terrain like mountains] over flying which takes at least 5-6 hours from coast to coast.

Your gov have to stop subsidize ioil, then the people will ride by train, because of costs.

What is HSR?

High Speed Rail LOL!

Because if a person wants to get from say San Fran to NYC, they'll take the plane than the train. HSR works better in Europe because their countries are smaller and flying would make sense if it was country to country.

 

Planes are efficient to go from one contient to an another but between two cities in a country it just destroys the environment.
