  1. How quickly these past six years flew by.

  2. The Q5 and 85 aready serve GA. Also, it's easier to get to RFM from the N4 than it is to Green Acres.
  3. Disregard this, I haven't ridden a bus regularly in about two years.
  4. Why does every song these days sound exactly the same?

identified someone who doesn't listen to music beyond what's on the radio

^ more like someone who's not a fan of pop music. Obviously, if you're not into the genre, you won't find much distinction between different songs. I feel that way about country and metal

  5. There was far more attendance last year with a potential Triple Crown winner. No Kentucky Derby winner and no TC?
  6. I don't know if demographics changes cost the route riders, but there are plenty of other hospitals on the island served by buses. I'm sorry if Molloy is strict about letting people through to get to the hospital, but what can people actually do? Anyway, a paratransit bus caught fire in Plainview yesterday.
  7. The n15 and n16 already serve Hempstead and RFM. Sure, there's that sliver of Rockville Centre that only the n17 goes through, but I never saw any real loads on the n17 at any point before it was discontinued.
  8. I've been trying to search for that ultimate fantasy map someone posted a long time ago. It was basically a line through every other square mile of the five boroughs, including something crazy from the West Side to Staten Island. It's the only fantasy map I will take seriously.
  9. I sure wouldn't want to be anywhere near the subway right now. The Dekalb change was originally just a diversion for a few stops, what happened?
  10. How many LIRR riders do I know who use the bus? Do you really think a driver who's already under pressure to maintain the closest thing to timeliness NICE knows is going to wait for a train? Not even LIB timed non-shuttles to meet the LIRR.
  11. If you've seen how bad ridership has declined, then artics will only make everything worse.
  12. "How you want your B Division?" "Completely FUBAR, fam" "Say no more."
  13. On the same day I tried to get on that , I saw an R62 set that still had a front RFW. First 5 cars were 2076-2080. The train was moving too fast for me to get the back half.
  14. Did something happen on the Eastern Parkway Line yesterday? I tried to take the to BG but after about 5 minutes sitting in the station, the C/R announced that the train would be going up the West Side. The behind it ran to the Lex as normal, which is what confounded me.
  15. NTTs are stale and boring.

The announcements are robotic, the signs are still capable of glitching, and those propulsion systems sound like nails on a chalkboard.

      Around the Horn

I guess I like the variety of announcements and signage but not the signs and announcements themselves.

    4. B3 Via Av U

The *mostly functional* information communication systems are the only thing that make them remotely interesting.

Only the Siemens and Bombardier propulsion sounds good, but I'd take a howling R68A over that any day.

  16. I passed by there Sunday and it wasn't closed off to buses. The little road the buses stop on is one-way only after the waiting room so buses headed north use Sunrise Highway east and turn onto North Village Avenue.
  17. "What cruel god would give a train a FACE?"

  18. "Why do I hate Mondays so much?" This should explain:
  19. It used to stop closer to the mall in the MSBA days, but in the '90s the mall booted the buses out to the curb immediately before Routes 106 and 107 split. RFM did the same exact thing. The walk is more hazardous than the walk through the garage at RFM because you have to cross the main road through the lot and no one ever stops at the sign with the crosswalk. The stop is now a little shelter next to what I remmeber was a bank, immediately after the Mexican restaurant.
  20. NG 1839 was in an accident off Merrick Road. It was too dark to tell where the damage was but a dispatcher and two Lynbrook PD officers were at the scene. Who decided that two lanes could merge into one in less than 50 feet and handle all that traffic?
