  1. Police arrested someone last week in connection with the fire:
  2. While this is true, I still think the ridership along the Little Neck Pkwy portion of the Q36 is higher (at lease pre-pandemic) than the Q79 was due to the direct connection to Jamaica. It is physically possible as LIRR shuttle buses (ex. the MCIs) have done it without issue as there are roundabouts on both sides of the station plus school buses use it as a turnaround point on school days. But yeah, politically, something like this might not go over well unless there are clear benefits to bringing additional "congestion" to an area like that.
  3. Anyone want the 11 burned buses for scrap metal? https://www.auctionsinternational.com/auction/29689/item/burned-out-orion-buses-for-scrap-metal-184232
  4. 11 buses have been removed from the auction: 1709, 1713, 1720, 1722, 1729, 1737. 1748. 1779, 1787, 1791, 1793 1725 also had its auction photos updated following the fire: More photos of the fire:
  5. It is being reported that these buses have caught fire at Cedar Creek. The smoke can be seen for miles: https://longisland.news12.com/nassau-fire-officials-7-nice-buses-catch-fire
  6. Lot: https://www.auctionsinternational.com/auction/nassau-county-mta-ny-29583-29583/page/1 Located in Cedar Creek Park, up for auction are: - 19x 2009 Orion VII NG CNG buses The numbers are as follows: 1709 1713 1719 1720 1722 1725 1729 1736 1737 1742 1748 1762 1776 1779 1764 1769 1787 1791 1793 Here are some photos I have selected from the auctions for display:
  7. The inspections for the 2010-2011 1800s were renewed through to the end of this year.
  8. This is happening again on routes such as the n24:
  9. Can anyone recall the last time an Orion VII NG/3G CNG at NICE caught fire?
  10. Bus is 1889 and this happened on 5/31. Here are some photos taken from the scene:
  11. I joined one of the public workshops tonight for the re-design and several people suggested that the new Q12 be extended to Great Neck for transfers to NICE Bus as well as the LIRR on the eastern end of the route. MTA representatives could not confirm/comment on what planning/coordination they took part in with NICE to work with them on the re-design (or vice versa). They also could not confirm if any changes to the scheduling for overnight service would happen on the routes that have those service levels now.
  12. Did you not see the earlier post made here? Can the discussion be continued there please?
  13. What news articles and what does "soon" mean? They're installing an upgrade to their CNG fuel-pump system now and would need serious infrastructure upgrades in order to support going all electric because of all the vehicles that would need to be charged. The XE40s on order are only coming along with a few charging stations being setup at the depot, not enough to charge the entire fleet if it were electric.
  14. Right, and I'm sure those "sources" have nothing to do with all the oddly specific information you ask for here, your previous bans from this forum under several different names, your consecutive replies in multiple threads and you trying to start an argument with me right here. It almost feels like you're working your way up to being banned from here again. Then just report him again.
  15. If you're going to keep leaving and coming back here (or being banned), please read the past posts that are made while you're gone. After all, most of the information posted to YouTube, including what you have shared, is taken from here. With the above post, specifically read item #5 below please.
  16. From: https://www.longisland.com/news/03-21-22/nassau-county-legislature-announces-electric-nice-bus-initiative.html Looks like a new route in the Nassau Hub could be coming soon (maybe similar to the old N93 route shown below with the addition of serving Hempstead Transit Center and NCC):
  17. The inspections for many of the 2010-2011 1800s are up in May/June of this year. NICE can choose to forego their renewal and retire them, or renew the inspection to keep them around a little longer.
