Took the (eastern split of the) n24 earlier this week from Hicksville... Since when does the interior LED display spell out the turn-by-turn routing???

I like the progressive thinking, but I think this may be a bit too far....

I was just about to post this as well,

I saw L on Marie or something like that I was like what, then the announcement came. I first thought it was a feature in the clever device system for navigation

    There is video of this:

You may be right but from 2010 to 2013, people in Little Neck were complaining that the Q79 got eliminated so the MTA extended some Q36 trips in 2013, but have you ever seen more than 8 people on a Q36 bus along Little Neck Parkway? Cause most of the time there isn't.

While this is true, I still think the ridership along the Little Neck Pkwy portion of the Q36 is higher (at lease pre-pandemic) than the Q79 was due to the direct connection to Jamaica.

Not sure if it's physically or politically possible for buses to access the Douglaston station.

It is physically possible as LIRR shuttle buses (ex. the MCIs) have done it without issue as there are roundabouts on both sides of the station plus school buses use it as a turnaround point on school days. But yeah, politically, something like this might not go over well unless there are clear benefits to bringing additional "congestion" to an area like that.

  3. I joined one of the public workshops tonight for the re-design and several people suggested that the new Q12 be extended to Great Neck for transfers to NICE Bus as well as the LIRR on the eastern end of the route. MTA representatives could not confirm/comment on what planning/coordination they took part in with NICE to work with them on the re-design (or vice versa). They also could not confirm if any changes to the scheduling for overnight service would happen on the routes that have those service levels now.

According to the latest paddles it seems like n22x is coming back this summer, seems like it is rush hours only for now in both directions. Locals will continue to be split, express will skip Mineola IC

n54/55 will end at Amityville, wonder why they don't extend the n71/n80 out to Amityville as well at this point

Did you not see the earlier post made here? Can the discussion be continued there please?

There’s news articles everywhere that NICE will be going all electric soon

What news articles and what does "soon" mean? They're installing an upgrade to their CNG fuel-pump system now and would need serious infrastructure upgrades in order to support going all electric because of all the vehicles that would need to be charged. The XE40s on order are only coming along with a few charging stations being setup at the depot, not enough to charge the entire fleet if it were electric.

Who said I got it from here, if you would have taken the time to thoroughly read my post, I said "couple of FB sources".

Right, and I'm sure those "sources" have nothing to do with all the oddly specific information you ask for here, your previous bans from this forum under several different names, your consecutive replies in multiple threads and you trying to start an argument with me right here. It almost feels like you're working your way up to being banned from here again.

Hmm sounds like that charger dodger guy who was banned like 5 times with different accounts. Guy would post on here asking bout whatever happened to bus 1867 everytime under a different name.

    Then just report him again.

Apparently, more XN60s are indeed on the way, we just don't know when or how many (or even where they'll be assigned). This was according to a couple of sources on FB, nothing official, but more artics are indeed coming.

If you're going to keep leaving and coming back here (or being banned), please read the past posts that are made while you're gone. After all, most of the information posted to YouTube, including what you have shared, is taken from here.

With the above post, specifically read item #5 below please.

    A couple of updates:

    1) The contract with Veolia has been extended to 2024 by Nassau County - no community meeting held to vote on that. "It was extended per the emergency of the pandemic" - Jack Khzouz

    2) No service to Manhattan with NICE is planned anytime soon. That proposal/study that came out a few years back is not being actioned at this time.

    3) Mitchel Field is being outfitted with charging stations in collaboration with New Flyer and ABB. One station can charge two buses.

    4) The plan is that, even though the XE40s are slated for 240 miles of range on paper, NICE will count on 180 miles of range for a day of service which should cover a shift. There will also be a service vehicle with a charger added to the maintenance department to use if the bus loses a charge out in the field.

    5) Per the CEO, NICE is looking to get additional articulated buses next year (they are "pleased" with the New Flyers) and expand them onto the n4 route as well.

    ------------

Also, a random note since there was discussion about cut routes above, in this evening's community meeting, PinePowerLI asked for the n45 to be restored.

These six buses will initially service the Nassau County HUB area with service originating from the Rosa Parks Bus Depot in the Village of Hempstead and serving the greater Hempstead, Nassau Community College, Hofstra University and Roosevelt Field areas. Usage will then expand throughout the county.

“Nassau Inter-County Express has selected New Flyer as our new battery-electric bus vendor,” said Jack Khzouz, Chief Executive Officer, NICE. “We plan on deploying these energy-efficient vehicles for the launch of our new bus rapid transit (BRT) system, which will provide Nassau County with zero emissions travel between Rosa Parks Hempstead Transit Center to the Nassau Hub/NCC locations. They will help NICE improve accessibility and connectivity within Nassau County.”

Looks like a new route in the Nassau Hub could be coming soon (maybe similar to the old N93 route shown below with the addition of serving Hempstead Transit Center and NCC):
