  1. Its not such a great photo since I was trying to drive while taking this photo behind me, but if you look closely, notice this driver had a book in his hands while driving the n20 to Flushing two days ago:
  2. Its funny looking back to some of the things I proposed to changing Long Island Bus back in 2011 that I see now were just plain dumb and not thought out: http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/27493-my-propositon-to-reforming-long-island-bus-routes/
  3. NICE.com is something entirely different. But yes, nicebus.com is down.
  4. So? That's no excuse for a B/O to have his eyes off the road, even if he is inching along the road. The bus is still in motion. OH RIGHT! I forgot, because the does it, that its OK for the B/O to take his eyes off the road and catch up on the sports section.
  5. WTF, a guy driving 1863 on the n20 to Flushing was reading the NY Post while sitting in traffic on Northern Blvd.
  6. That doesn't mean every passenger wants the time changed. If the bus is SRO or even no room, that means a majority of them would not want it changed to a later time because they're on that bus then anyway.
  7. And I bet you're complaining for them on the NICE Facebook page, right!? No wonder NICE ignores alot of stuff you post on their page...
  8. June 23rd schedule changes are up: http://nicebus.com/Passenger_Information/June_23rd_Schedule_Changes/index.html June 23rd Schedule ChangesNICE will make schedule changes on multiple routes on Sunday, June 23, 2013. The majority of these changes are very small timetable adjustments. Starting June 24th, the n2/8 will revert back to its 2012 route along Covert Avenue, and will no longer travel to Franklin Square along Hempstead Turnpike. NOTE: The following schedules only take effect on June 23rd, 2013. Click any route below to download a timetable pdf. Affected Weekday Routes: n1 n25 n51 n2/8 n26 n57/58 n15 n31/32 n70/71/72 n19 n35 n78/79 n22/A/L/X n40/41 Affected Saturday Routes: n2/8 n15 n43 n4 n23 n48/49 n6 n33 n54/55 Affected Sunday Routes: n15 n33 n40/41
  9. I haven't heard about the June 23rd schedule changes, but if its anything notable, it may be announced at the public meeting at NICE's Mitchel Field Depot on June 18th. Also, I'm seeing less and less of the Orion V CNGs. I had to Port Washington today and going back and forth on Northern Blvd, all I saw were NGs and 3Gs, mostly 1700s and the 3Gs (Not many of the 1800 NGs).
  10. THE FAB FIVE! Service Quality Managers Ali G, Randy R, Ricky S, Jacques T, and Greg M posing at Mineola Terminal this afternoon!
  11. Look at the NICE logo below the 2nd passenger window. Notice its not one of those white pieces of wrap with the NICE logo printed on it just slabbed onto the bus. This looks like its a cut out decal kind of (or maybe the usual white part is transparent)? From: http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/41314-do-you-like-buses/
  12. Oh why oh why do those NICE buses have to suffer damage everday? Oh woo is me! PREACH IT BROTHA.
  13. Yeah, that was posted on Subchat. However, I don't know why they reported the bus from the accident in Manhasset being towed north into Manorhaven.
  14. 1748 was in an accident in Hicksville. It collided with another car near the intersection where the n22 makes the turn to begin its route.
  15. Whoever was driving 1709 on the N20 Limited to Flushing today had no idea what he was doing. I was behind him and he was stopping short, kept braking and speeding up, and almost hit another car at Douglaston Pkwy.
  16. I wanted to do a throwback yesterday, and I forgot to post it, but here it is: Going back to 3/14/2008 when this happened in Garden City at Old Country Rd & Wetherill Street to LI Bus #136
  17. Yes, in other words the 3Gs, and thats exactly what Orion said in the post above yours.
  18. 6078 is broken down at Northern Blvd and Alameda Ave (southern end) on the Q12 heading west. An Orion VII HEV just pulled up behind the bus to pick up the stuck passengers!
  19. Besides his friend in White Plains, he mentioned he takes the bus for miles to go to Whole Foods when there are probably several similar local super markets that sell organic food in Flushing where he lives. When I say seniors rely on buses, that usually is to get to a doctor whose office isn't nearby or some other appt. Yuki has said on several occassions that he takes the bus for the hell of it because he posts his trips here that go in circles and zig-zags with no real destination. I'm not saying thats bad, even though he doesn't have a job, but he shouldn't say he "relys" on the bus.
  20. It's not relying on them if you don't have to take them daily to get to, say, work or school.
  21. @Yuki Yeah, the n20 detour for Great Neck, and inside Queens in Little Neck and Douglaston. Although we know they'll most likely take the LIE service road. If the sign was in good condition and not ripped or written on, you should have taken it and kept it as a sovenir!
