  1. I'm as surprised they even done that too. I'll be even more surprised if they made a strip map for the and lines similar to those on the , , , , , and lines.
  2. Can you make me a strip map of the former (1)/(9) skip-stop service with a service extension up to northern Riverdale and to make skip-stop service operate between 262nd-263rd Sts in The Bronx and 96th St in Manhattan? Here are the following stops of what the (1)/(9) lines should've been: 262nd-263rd Sts 1, 9 260th St 1 256th St 9 252nd St 1 246th St 9 Van Cortlandt Park-242nd St 1, 9 238th St 1 231st St 9 Marble Hill-225th St 1, 9 BRONX 215th St 1 MANHATTAN 207th St 9 Dyckman St 1 191st St 1, 9 181st St 1, 9 168th St 9 157th St 1 145th St 9 137th St-City College 1, 9 125th St 1 116th St-Columbia University 9 Cathedral Parkway (110th St) 1 103rd St 9 96th St 1, 9 86th St 79th St 72nd St 66th St-Lincoln Center 59th St-Columbus Circle 50th St Times Square-42nd St 34th St-Penn Station 28th St 23rd St 18th St 14th St Christopher St-Sheridan Square Houston St Canal St Franklin St Chambers St Cortlandt-Fulton Sts Rector St South Ferry 1 = stops served by the Train only 9 = stops served by the Train only 1, 9 = stops served by both trains I'm hoping that you can pull this one off without a hitch. Thanks!
  3. So this is where I do the fantasy bus signs, huh? Well in that case, make me a group of bus signs for the upcoming M60 +selectbusservice sort of like this: M60 +SELECT BUS SERVICE+ M60 LAGUARDIA AIRPORT M60 VIA 125 ST VIA ASTORIA BLVD M60 +SELECT BUS SERVICE+ M60 WEST SIDE BWAY-106 ST M60 VIA ASTORIA BLVD VIA 125 ST
  4. Oh, so that's what it is, huh? A time difference between the and lines when one of them are running local or express from 3rd Av-149th St to E 180th St. I kinda get the point now.
  5. That would be totally weird sending the Train to Nereid Av (238th St) all times except late nights. The weirdest part to that story is, that while I was heading to the Grand Hyatt Hotel at Grand Central Terminal, I looked over at the countdown clock on the uptown express platform at 86th St and I see the time on the clock for when the next uptown or Train is coming. Here's the twist: the upcoming Train that was heading to The Bronx was actually going to the Wakefield-241st St Subway Station. Doesn't that sound too strange to all of you? I swear to God, that this must be some kind of mistake to the weekday morning schedule. From my intake of this knowledge, the Train service to Wakefield-241st St was cut off to end at Nereid Av (238th St) back in 1995 because of the service cuts. Yet somehow, the MTA ends up sending some of the Trains along the Line in the morning. If y'all don't believe me; go railfan the uptown Train during the weekday morning hours, wait for the Wakefield-241st St-bound train and ride that train up to Wakefield, you will know that I'm not making this up.
  6. I don't see a link to the Train FASTRACK, I've searched for it on the MTA website and it's not even there.
  7. I've been trying to find a brochure about the FASTRACK at every possible station in Manhattan, still no luck. Do any of you know where I can find it at what lucky station? Let me know, OK?
  8. I still wanted to see a few 10-car R-32 and 8-car R-46 train sets on both the and lines.
  9. Now, for my ideas for Brooklyn: B6LTD--Implement Sunday Limited-Stop Service for All Day Service. When Limited-Stop Buses are running, local buses operate between the Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway Subway Station and Bath Beach. Limited-Stop Buses will make limited stops between Bath Beach and the Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway Subway Station then runs local to/from the New Lots Av Subway Station. B8LCL/B18LTD--Service extended back to Bay Ridge-95th St during late night and early morning hours (Monday -Friday 10:00 PM-6:00 AM, Saturday 10:00 PM-7:00 AM, and Sunday 10:00 PM-8:00 PM). Implement new Limited-Stop variant of the B8LCL, the B18LTD. This new bus line will see service reinstation to/from Bay Ridge-95th St and will run all day (Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-10:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM-10:00 PM, and Sunday 8:00 AM-10:00 PM) making all limited stops between Rockaway/Hegemen Avs and the Brooklyn Veterans Administration Medical Center, then some local stops to/from Bay Ridge-95th St. A route change is also avised; both the B8 and the B18 will run via Church Av and Kings Highway between Remsen Av and Beverly Road, also via Av D and Ditmas Av between Nostrand and Coney Island Avs in both directions with the southbound buses running along Linden Blvd and Rockaway Parkway straight to Church Av. B5LCL/B15LTD--Split service into 2 routes, one service will be the new B5 running along the original B15, and the other service will be the newly-restructured B15LTD All Day Service (Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-10:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM-10:00 PM, and Sunday 8:00 AM-10:00 PM) running between Bed-Stuy and JFK Airport via Brooklyn General Mail Facility. When Limited-Stop Service is running, local buses will run between Bed-Stuy and Brooklyn General Mail Facility. A route change is also avised; both the B5 and the B15 will run via Fulton St and Ralph Av in both directions between Marcus Garvey Blvd (eastbound)/Lewis Av (westbound) and Saint Johns Place in Brooklyn. B35LCL/B55LTD--Extend bus service to/from Sunset Park/1st Av. Split B35 service into 2 routes, one service will be the B35LCL, and the other service will be the new B55LTD All Day Service running along the current B35LTD making all limited stops between Brownsville and Sunset Park. Begin Sunday Limited-Stop Service 5 hours earlier and end it 1 hour later. B41LCL/LTD--All Limited-Stop Trips will now run between Downtown Brooklyn and Kings Plaza. Local service to/from Bergen Beach not affected. B44LCL/LTD--With the arrival of +selectbusservice on the B44 scheduled for January 2013, all northbound B44 buses will be rerouted along Flatbush, Rogers, and Bedford Avd between Brooklyn College-Flatbush Av Subway Station and Fulton St. Southbound bus service not affected. B46LCL/LTD--All B46 Limited-Stop Buses will make limited stops between Kings Plaza Shopping Center and Malcolm X Blvd/DeKalb Av. Local bus service not affected. B49LCL/LTD--With the arrival of +selectbusservice on the B44 scheduled for January 2013, the B49 service will be rerouted along the discontinued pre-June 2010 portion of the B48 route to Empire Blvd, then along Ocean Av down to Foster Av to resume regular route. Restructure Southbound Weekday AM Rush Hour Limited-Stop Sevice into a Weekday and Saturday Only Limited-Stop Service making all limited stop along the full route in both directions; meaning that the southbound Limited-Stop Service will now begin at Franklin Av/Fulton St not Empire Blvd. B60LTD--Implement All Weekday Only Limited-Stop Service between Williamsburg Bridge Plaza and Glenwood Road. B63LTD--Implement All Day Limited-Stop Service making all limited stops between Dean St and 4th Av/Shore Road. B82LCL/LTD--Restructure Weekday Rush Hour Limited-Stop Service into All Day Limited-Stop Service making limited stops between Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway and 25th Av, then local to/from Spring Creek and Coney Island. When Limited-Stop Service is running, local buses will run between Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway and 25th Av.
  10. I haven't posted my ideas on the 5 Borough Bus Proposal Threads in a long time, now is the time to do so. Here are my suggestions on bus improvements in The Bronx: Bx1LCL/LTD/Bx2LCL--Implement Sunday Bx1 Limited-Stop Service for an All Day Limited-Stop Service (Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-8:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM-8:00 PM, and Sunday 8:00 AM-8:00 PM). Extend the Bx2LCL to Riverdale Av/W 231st St along with the Bx1LTD which will be making limited stops between Riverdale Av/W 231st St, and Grand Concourse/E 149th St. Bx1 now runs local during late nights and early morning hours (Monday-Friday 11:00 PM-6:00 AM, Saturday 11:00 PM-7:00 AM, and Sunday 11:00 PM-8:00 AM) with 15-20 min. headways. *Bx4LCL/Bx24LTD--Extend the Bx4 service along with the Bx24 to/from Country Club. Replace Bx4A with restructured and extended Bx24 All Day Limited-Stop Service making Limited Stops between Country Club and Westchester Square, then between Parkchester and The Hub, plus local stops between Westchester Square and Parkchester via E Tremont, Castle Hill, and Metropolitan Avs. Bx15LCL--Discontinue all service south of E 138th St to/from Manhattan all times except late nights (Monday-Friday 11:00 PM-6:00 AM, Saturday 11:00 PM-7:00 AM, and Sunday 11:00 PM-8:00 AM). See Bx55LTD for more details on this change-up routine. *Bx19LCL/Bx49LTD--Split service into 2 different routes, the original BX19LCL, and the newly-implemented All Weekday Only Limited-Stop Service (Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-8:00 PM (southbound), 7:00 AM-9:00 PM (northbound), the Bx49LTD. When Limited-Stop Buses are running, local Bx19 buses begins/ends at W 145th St/Malcolm X Blvd-Lenox Av. Bx49 buses will be making limited stops between NY Botanical Garden in The Bronx, and W 145th St/Malcolm X Blvd-Lenox Av, then runs local to/from Riverbank State Park in Harlem, Manhattan. Bx26/Bx28LCL/Bx30--Reinstate service along their original pre-June 2010 routing following the Bx23. See Bx28LCL/Bx38LTD for more details on this change-up routine. *Bx36LCL/Bx46LTD--Split service into 2 different routes, one service will be the Bx36LCL and the other service will be the new Bx36 Limited-Stop variant, the Bx46LTD. The Bx46LTD will run along with the Bx36LCL All Weekday and Saturday only making all limited stops between W 181st St/Amsterdam Av, Manhattan and White Plains Road/Story Av, Bronx with some local stops made here and in Manhattan. *Bx28LCL/Bx38LTD--Restructre Bx28LCL variant (the Bx38) into an All Day Limited-Stop Service (Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-8:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM-8:00 PM, and Sunday 8:00 AM-8:00 PM), making all limited stops between Co-Op City-Erskine Place Loop and Fordham Center-E 192nd St. Bx28LCL service will now begin/end at Fordham Center-E 192nd St at all times. Bx40LCL/Bx42LTD--Bx40 remains as All Time Local, restructure Bx42 into an All Day Limited-Stop Service (Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-10:00 PM, Saturday 6:30 AM-9:30 PM, and Sunday 7:00 AM-9:00 PM) along the whole route. Both buses are rerouted along Schurz Av in both directions. Bx42LTD buses will follow the Bx40LCL making limited stops bewtween River Park Towers and Schurz Av. Bx42 service along Dewey, Balcom, and Randall Avs discontinued and replaced with exteded Bx31. Bx41LCL/LTD--Reinstate full service between Wakefileld-241st St and The Hub-E 149th St at all times. Restructure Weekday Rush Hour Limited-Stop Service into All Weekday Only (Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-8:00 PM) making all limited stops along the entire route in both directions. When Limited-Stop Buses are running, Bx41LCL buses will run between Willamsbridge-E Gun Hill/White Plains Roads and The Hub-E 149th St. Bx39 buses will continue to serve Wakefield at all times except late nights. Bx55LTD--Reinstate Late Evening and All Weekend Limited-Stop Service (Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-10:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM-10:00 PM, and Sunday 8:00 AM-10:00 PM). This service will soon run between either Fordham Plaza or Williamsbridge-E Gun Hill/White Plains Roads, The Bronx and Manhattanvile, Manhattan all day replacing the Bx15LCL route. *The service change on each bus line will contain a split of local and limited-stop service similar to most bus lines in Staten Island.
  11. Last Saturday, I just rode an R-32 Far Rockaway-bound Train to Jay St-MetroTech in Brooklyn. I didn't ride in the front, but it was a great trip I've ever enjoyed. I also saw a few R-46 Trains along the way, now that I mention it, that line always runs a set of 8-car R-32 Trains but never a 10. For this summer, I hope the swap will make those subway lines run 50% of their fleets both R-32 and R-46. If sometime later approved, both the Jamaica and Coney Island Yards might give away some of their R-160A-2's and R-160Bs (Alstom) to the 207th St and Pitkin Av Yards for them to run on the and until late 2015 or to the Concourse Yard for the , and Trains.
  12. By looking at this TwitterPic on the 2013 FASTRACK corridor, I've decided to give out my opinions on 5 FASTRACK projects and hopefully we might have an understanding about this for quite a while. 1. corridor - I'm glad that the MTA have decided to do this line between Queensboro Plaza or Queens Plaza, Queens and Atlantic Av-Barclays Center, Brooklyn, and I hope they read my comment on this corridor I made a short time ago. There might be some tunnel lighting improvements, track cleaning, signal restructuring, and track switch installation north of 14th St-Union Square. 2. corridor - On this uptown Manhattan corridor, I'm positive that the Train service might end early (last train to Euclid Av leaves 168th St at 9:32 PM and last train to 168th St leaves Euclid Av at 8:54 PM). Also, the last two downtown trains might leave Inwood-207th St at 9:44 PM (Far Rockaway-bound), and 9:56 PM (Ozone Park-bound), which means the final three uptown trains would make their arrival on Inwood-207th St at 9:35 PM (from Ozone Park), 9:46 PM (from Far Rockaway), and 9:56 PM (from Ozone Park). Trains will also start running local between 168th St, Manhattan and Euclid Av, Brooklyn in both directions at 9:00 PM (from Euclid Av) and 9:41 PM (from 168th St). 3. corridor - FASTRACK in The Bronx, what are the odds on that? For this one, the line will end early (last train to Brighton Beach leaves 145th St at 9:56 PM and last train to 145th St leaves Brighton Beach at 8:49 PM). Trains are likely to end at 145th St instead of 161st St-Yankee Stadium, maybe because of platform renovations, track cleaning, reinstalling track switches south of Fordham Road, and hopefully part of the never-been-planned Line extension along Burke Av. 4. corridor - Either the and run local, or the and run express. Only time will tell. 5. corridor - They're both the same, but the planning might be different than this year. Trains will run in 2 sections: 1. Between Woodlawn and 125th St. 2. Between Grand Central-42nd St and New Lots Av (trains start running local). Train service will end early (last train to Bowling Green leaves Eastchester-Dyre Av at 9:08 PM and last train to Eastchester-Dyre Av leaves Bowling Green at 9:35 PM). Trains will also run in 2 sections: 1. Between Pelham Bay Park and 125th St. 2. Between Grand Central-42nd St and Crown Heights-Utica Av.
  13. I'm thinking the R-179 will have 2 different versions of that NYC subway car model: 1st version will be a 5-car train set similar to the R-143-R-160, while the 2nd version will be a 4-car train set similar to either the R-160A-1 or the R-44, R-46, and the R-68/R-68A.
  14. That reminds me, if the A Trains are running local via the C, D, and F Lines between 168th St, Manhattan and Jay St-MetroTech, Brooklyn, and they're replacing the C between Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts and Euclid Av, Brooklyn. This would mean that there will be another subway car reassignment on the A and C Train lines. A Trains will be sharing their R-46 subway cars to the C, while the C Trains will be equipped with 10-car R-32 subway trains, they'll be sharing their trains to the A and itself. Plus, the NIS R-160A2/B (Alstom) subway trains will come from either the Jamaica Yard in Queens or the Coney Island Annex Yard in Brooklyn would come on over via the A, C, and D lines to the Concourse Yard in the Bronx, 207th St Yard in Manhattan, Pitkin Yard in Brooklyn, and the Rockaway Park Yard in Queens. We'll be seeing full trains running along the NYC Subway Lines as follows: : R-32, R-46, and R-160A2 (: R-32, R-68/R-68A, and R-160A2/B (alstom) ©: R-32, R-46, and R-160A2 : R-32, R-68, and R-160A2/B (alstom) : R-160A2/B (alstom) : R-46, R-160A2/B (alstom) : R-68/R-68A, and R-160A2/B (alstom) : R-46, and R-160B (alstom ans siemens) : R-68/R-68A, and R-160B (alstom ans siemens) ®: R-46, and R-160B (alstom ans siemens) Rockaway Park Shuttle: R-160A2 It looks like the 's subway car assignment for the summer has been called earlier ahead as planned and (*puts on sunglasses*) it was just the time I need to have this message be sent in so it can be read loud and clear.:cool:YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
  15. Here is my suggestion for another FASTRACK maintenance that will be taking place on the Train Line for 2 weeks. - Trains will be running 1 section a week. 1st week: Between Court Square, Queens and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, Brooklyn. 2nd week: Between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av, Brooklyn. As an alternative, take the , ©, , and * Trains in Queens and Brooklyn. *Late Night Train service will be extended to Queens Plaza, Queens
  16. Not a bad suggestion there, buddy. It's such a nice idea after all, but I might think that FASTRACK on the BMT Broadway Line should be affected between Queensboro Plaza or Queens Plaza, Queens and Atlantic Av-Pacific St, Brooklyn sort of like this: -( Train service ends early (we all know that already). - Trains run local in Brooklyn between DeKalb Av and 36th St/4th Av both directions. - Trains run in 2 sections: 1. Between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza, Queens. 2. Between Atlantic Av-Pacific St and Coney Island-Stillwell Av, Brooklyn via 4th Avenue Express. - Trains will be running as a shuttle train service between Prospect Park and Coney Island-Stillwell Av. -® Train service in Queens and Manhattan ends early (last train to Bay Ridge-95th St leaves Forest Hills-71st Av at 9:04 PM and last train to Forest Hills-71st Av leaves Bay Ridge-95th St at 8:58 PM).
  17. Oh, I almost forgot one more important thing, Trains will also be making local stops along the © Train Line in both directions and 2 different sections: 1. Between 168th and Canal Sts, Manhattan (will run local via the (, , and lines between 59th and W 4th Sts.) 2. Between Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts and Euclid Av, Brooklyn. The 1st Local Train to Queens will now leave Inwood-207th St at 9:33 PM, the 1st 2 Local Trains to Manhattan will now leave Far Rockaway-Mott Av at 8:57 PM and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd at 9:30 PM. My bad.
  18. I know that my 1st FASTRACK prediction was a little bit wrong, and my second one might be the same, so here is the one that will be affecting the © Train lines between 59th St-Columbus Circle or 5th Av-53rd St and W 4th St-Washington Square in 3 different ways from 10:00 PM Monday March 12th-5:00 AM Friday March 16th: - Trains run via the ( and Lines between 59th St-Columbus Circle and W 4th St-Washington Square, then runs local between W 4th St-Washington Square and Canal St in both directions. -© Train service ends early (last train to Euclid Av leaves 168th St at 9:32 PM and last train to 168th St leaves Euclid Av at 9:19 PM). - Trains run via the Line between 5th Av-53rd St and W 4th St-Washington Square in both directions.
  19. Perhaps, there is a way the R-160's will soon head on over to the Train again. What if the Jamaica Yard in Queens and the Coney Island Yard in Brooklyn were to share some of their R-160A-2's and R-160B's (Alstom) subway cars to the 207th Street, Concourse, and Pitkin Yards? That would mean we will all finally see some of the half 5-car and full 10-car R-160 trainsets on the ( and Rockaway Park Shuttle Trains. Here is a link to more on the R-160 info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R160_(New_York_City_Subway_car)
  20. A little reminder to some of you forum members who travel along the 6th Avenue Line late at night. In less than 2 weeks from now, FASTRACK will be affecting the ( Train lines between 59th Street-Columbus Circle or 57th St (6th Avenue) or 5th Av-53rd St and W 4th St-Washington Square in 4 different ways: - ( Train service ends early (last train to Brighton Beach leaves 145th St at 9:34 PM, & last train to 145th St leaves Brighton Beach at 9:09 PM.) - Train service runs in 2 different sections: 1. Between Norwood-205th St, Bronx, and 59th St-Columbus Circle making all ( Train stops. 2. Between Atlantic Av-Pacific St and Coney Island-Stillwell Av making express stops along the 4th Avenue segment. - Train service run along the Train line between Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av, Queens, and W 4th St-Washington Square, Manhattan in both directions. - Train service to/from Manhattan ends early (last train to Middle Village-Metropolitan Av leaves Forest Hills-71st Av at 9:26 PM, and last train to Forest Hills-71st Av leaves Middle Village-Metropolitan Av at 9:19 PM.) Thank You!
  21. I have a personal SUBWAY - Random Thought of my own. It's all about the Train at the 145th St Station in Harlem, Manhattan. I'm sure we all know that this subway station opened on Wednesday November 23rd, 1904, and that it can only hold all 5 cars (1st group in either direction) but not the 6th car. I got to be honest with y'all, why go with that design? I'm pretty sure that each and every conductor on the Train would have done something right, like, come out of his/her cab and used their key to open all doors on the 6th car. You know what? This just give me an idea, what if the MTA were to plan a 2-4 year construction program for the Lenox Avenue Line that'll have to do with the Malcolm X Blvd widening that would close down a few stations? Then after that, they would probably reroute the Train along the line between 135th St, Manhattan, and E 180th St, Bronx, "why would they want to do that" you all say? Well, because the 145th, and 148th Sts Stations would be closed down due to tunnel, track, and platform renovations. The MTA could extend the 145th St Station by 4 cars (2 cars to the north, 2 cars to the south) it would finally fill in the missing gaps on full 10-car trains, just like the South Ferry Station on the Train line. Now that's a well thought out improvement.
