Noticed a few 4××× NG hybrids getting scrapped at zerega (pcs, radiator, and high voltage cables removed). Anyone know why such young buses are getting the axe? I assume that they need either a traction motor or traction generator and are not worth fixing...anyone know the actual reason for the early retirement?
There is no diesel only mode on our hybrids. The diesel engine only runs the ACTM (hybrid generator) and other accessories. The "diesel only mode" you guys are referring to may be the PCS emergency override switch.
Being that the MTA is slowly moving away from the "blue and white with a stripe" livery, does anyone think that the road trucks, tow trucks, and other support vehicles will share the new navy blue and gold livery (similar to state trooper vehicles)?
Will Casey Stengel be relocated or rebuilt before/after It's closure? Will jamaica be rebuilt with extra capacity to share the queens division load if Stengel is completely history??
Definitely not true. College Point and any other depot with a paint booth will paint sections or panels on buses as after an accident repair. Scheduled overhaul painting is done exclusively at Zerega and Grand Ave CMF (mostly at grand ave cmf). Even buses overhauled at ENY go to grand for paint.
When it's all of us together, car. My wife and I, with the baby, will use the subway once in a blue moon. Never on the bus though, it's too much of a hassle for us, and an inconvenience to everyone else
I have 4 kids, the youngest being 3 months old. I feel that if these people have babies and know that they will be using the bus to get around, they should buy strollers that can easily fold with 1 hand. We don't have 1, but I've seen them while shopping for our current stroller. They are moderately priced at $200-$400.
6099 is in the building at MCH for a retirement ceremony for "The Rabbi". It, along with 2185 and museum bus 3100 were detailed and parked near the stage on the 3rd floor of MCH.
MCH is an OA depot that happens to have a lot of TA people From 126th street working there. They got a 1 time deal to either be rolled back into TA Brooklyn seniority or OA seniority.
The difference is only a couple buttons, the height of the bus, and the feel of the acceleration. That's something that can be ran through as the bus is given out during am service.
