So yeah in short im in the first car at Ocean Pkwy, then instead of going to Brighton Beach we move backwards and cross over to southbound track (even though there is no crossover) now I look in the direction of West 8 ans see that the train comes towards us at full speed. That train hits the last car, which is where I am. I fall to the floor and... wake up.
wicked, the moral is, do not watch too much car crash compilation before going to sleep.

I have transit dreams all the time, there was one where I was riding a G line that didn't exist, R68s that were retrofitted with electronic clocks inside and swing doors to cross cars. In the dream, I was sitting waiting for the G while it passed by right behind me, then when I went to cross cars, some hot girl held the door for me! God, I must be going nuts.

Anyone knows why weld rail isn't used on elevated lines?

Makes sense since the way they replace rails is by using pre-fabricated sections, but the thing about maintenance isn't satisfying since there are sections of weld rail everywhere but elevated. My thoughts are going into technical difficulties area, maybe elevated lines experience more stress thus weld rail breaks more often, or since its metal structure, maybe the expansion/contraction requires short sections of rail to accommodate it. It seems that this question is stuck with me for goo...
