  1. So about what time (month/year) will the MTA NYCT Orion V's will become extinct?
  2. I remember just last week seeing a train on the 7 with a 5-car set paired to 6 singles. That might have been the one that I saw, not sure though.
  3. So while on the road today, I saw a XD40 (7439???) that is MTA Bus on the Van Wyck, no depot stickers, looks fresh. Also saw an Orion VII CNG (don't remember number) on the LIE, with a paper taped to the back window.
  4. If this wasn't mentioned yet: 6038 is at CS running w/ KB stickers.
  5. Don't you love inconsistent bus service.... Once again, the Q28 has been terrible. I wanted to go to the movie theater at Bay Terrace, and my stop, which is along the beginning of the Bayside stretch of the route (the other side of Francis Lewis Blvd), is quite far from Flushing. Why would I say that? Because on bus time, the next bus just left Flushing. So, knowing that I'd miss my two hour transfer from before (had to go home to get something), I decided to walk there. I checked on the Q28 when I arrived, finding that the next bus was only at the stop that I am supposed to get on. At 4:00, the start of rush hour, that is unacceptable. Once again, Q28 service proves to be terrible. My mom waited 35 mins the other day on the Q28 in the middle of rush hour, for three buses to come and crawl the way home. Something has to be done, the bus service on this line has gotten terrible over the past year or two. Buses used to arrive on time towards Bay Terrace, now, one bus can be just leaving Flushing while the next one is at Bay Terrace. Just to piss me off even more, when I take the bus to Flushing, I see buses towards Bay Terrace 2-3 times before one towards Flushing arrives.
  6. I like to ride either the 5th or 6th car on the Main Street-bound at stations such as Queensboro Plaza, Court Square, or even Grand Central. People at the front don't get off usually until Main Street, while people in the middle get off at Woodside and Junction Blvd.
  7. Delays Posted: 06/22/2015 8:03PM Q28 and Q32 buses are running with delays in both directions, due to a vehicular accident on 32 Av and Jordan St. Allow additional travel time. The Q28 and Q32 run no where near each other.... It should be the Q31. Typical .
  8. So 6895 was repainted... Huh, unless I'm crazy or something, I remember seeing it a few weeks ago, maybe even a month, still running with that black back.
  9. Yay, 7 trains delayed tonight. Mom said that she waited half an hour at TSQ while two 7 trains were "stuck" in the station. Apparently, the MTA website does not like posting delays like what happened tonight.
  10. Aren't the conversions supposed to go up to 759_ set?
  11. I mean, Q13 service is much more frequent than the Q28 and the Q13 line today had 10 people, while the Q28 was a mess.. I think the MTA should so something about Q28 service, it is absolutely horrible.
  12. Q28 bus service in the weekend PM is awful. Last week, I waited 40 minutes for a bus to come - the line stretching all the way past the Q13. The bus I was on was packed like sardines, and the next bus ended up passing us with 5 people on it. This week, as I walk to the stop I see a line longer than the one last week, and when the bus finally comes another Q13 does. Unsurprisingly, at the same time, the next Q28 comes and bypasses the stop because of the Q13, and as we all pack onto the bus I come to find out that the driver is the slowest I've ever ridden on. I don't think he exceeded 20mph the whole ride. This elderly woman was complaining about how she waited 35 minutes for the bus, then how the driver drives SOOOOOOOOOOO slow. My dad, who works at Flushing, comes back every Saturday & Sunday with a story about how waiting for the bus is always taking forever, and how service is so poor. Like, what is happening? There is always a 40 minute wait for the next bus and then two come at the same time, one packed like sardines, the other one empty...
  13. I haven't been keeping updated, but have they started retiring the last of the Orion V's yet?
  14. Random thought, the other day I was riding an R188 train and I was using a speedometer on my phone to check it's speed. The fastest point was between Woodside-61 St and Junction Blvd, where it hit 46.9 mph. There were many other times where it hit 40...I should do that one day with the in the 60th St Tubes.
  15. Did they replace the lights on the conversion sets at all? I recently had a ride on one, and noticed that many of the lights were off in no specific pattern, and some lights were dimmer than others.
  16. Damn, when's the last time I ever went on to here.... I haven't even noticed that the 16xx-17xx's were gone...
  17. Well, it was a year ago today that 7811-7821 was pretty much the hype for a month or so. Here's the threads that were posted that day of the then "new" R188's. http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/forum/32-subway-photos-videos/page-24?prune_day=100&sort_by=Z-A&sort_key=last_post&topicfilter=all It's hard to believe a year has past already!
  18. There's only two days left until it is one year after they ran the R188's on the . I hope they send out 7811, because it has been months since I've last rode that set (obviously because there are literally 10 more R188's out now other than it... ) I think you mean 7211, right?
  19. I was out at mid-day (yesterday) around 12PM to 1PM. I got a ride on 7906 and 7832 at that time.
  20. There were quite a few sets running today. 7822, 7844, 7231, 7281 were what I saw. There might have been more. On another note, it's hard to believe that it has been pretty much a year since the R188's started running. For me, it went by pretty fast as I still remember riding the new and fresh 7821 in the first few days.
