    From what I was told from someone who works for the TA, the R68A appeared to fill in for a R46 layup that had an issue at Coney Island yard. There are cases in the past where the yards supply trains to other lines not assigned to the yard during the rush hours to fill in for layups if they have an issue. This has happened on the line before where R160s and R68/As from Coney Island due to some of the layups at the Av X yard had an issue.

    Those extra R68/As are spares at Coney Island to fill in for R160s that need shop time I think.

    I think its to prevent people on Lexington Av to wait hours for a to come. Most people dont read the signs or listen to the announcements. If you run those (4)s as (6)s, I think there will still be a lot of people waiting for the to come which wont show up lol.

    I heard the reason why they try to keep CBTC R160s off the is that they dont want them laid up on Queens Blvd. I think this can be a problem if the needs trains and it can only use CBTC equipment.

    With the split G.O, we could see Westchester equipment on the southern but I think they should run additional service between 3 Av and Brooklyn Bridge instead. If Queens Blvd dosent have any G.Os occuring, would it makes sense to send the to Forest Hills.

It would create a lot of confusion on 2 Av and plus the is still operating between 96 St/2 Av and Coney Island but via 6 Av. It makes more sense to reroute the between Lexington Av-63 St and Dekalb Av than run the

    I doubt it since there are switches from the 2 Av line to the 6 Av line west of Lexington Av-63 St
