  1. Gov Murphy and NJ Transit admin held a joint Press Conference today... he admitted he underestimated the mess left by the Christie administration
  2. NJ Transit plans to shut down the Atlantic City Line for five months starting Sept. 4 and redeploy its personnel and equipment to deal with shortages of both elsewhere in the state. The plan, which was described in an internal email obtained by the USA TODAY NETWORK New Jersey, shows the struggles of the statewide public transportation system. https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/transportation/2018/08/03/nj-transit-atlantic-city-line-shut-down-5-months/899063002/ They also plan to end the off-peak one seat rides to/from NY Penn on the Raritan Valley Line Official Press Release
  3. http://abc7ny.com/traffic/greyhound-drivers-strand-passengers-at-port-authority/3847574/ some of the blame may have been allocating bus runs to Atlantic City. I even saw Bolt Bus coaches in AC a few times cuz Greyhound didn't have enough buses or bus drivers to cover the rest of the system

New Jersey Transit - Random Thoughts Thread

Caug I checked the GTFS this week on the summer bus schedule and found there will be 4 Newton Ave, 2 Egg Harbor, 1 Washington Twp drivers for the 316 Majority of the 316 trips would be the older MCI D4000s from Newton Ave. Newton Ave trip times are 8:30am, 9:30am, 3:30pm, 7:30pm from Philly. We could see 2 Newton Ave MCI cruisers at a time on the 316

Technicality kills tiny bus firm's dream

Now the issue is, does Saddle River have enough drivers to cover the NJT routes? Buses have basically not been showing up. CUSA Community was able to retain their drivers and have them operate NJT's Passaic routes https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/columnists/john-cichowski/2018/03/19/nj-transit-bus-route-battle-heats-up-bergen-county-commuters-balance/426699002/
