Summer Youth Employment 2009

yeah me 2, i had my skool deal with this, since i wasnt accpted a few times when i registered solo through the yrs. I want a job where i work with computers since thats my passion..

I got a volunteer job at my school during the month of July. If I do it next year, I get paid minimum wage, so I really want to do it next year...

I'm doing 3 things this summer

 

1)volunteering at a hsopital

2) Working at a restaurant

3) Working at a beach club

 

I don't know how much I am getting paid yet

Same here. I was accepted three times in a row. For anyone who doesn't know, minimum wage is $(7).(2)(5).

I was actually supposed to be hired as a mentor at one of the program sites, but I guess I wasn't qualified enough.

how much do they pay nowadays? i did summer youth in '93 & '94 i think it was 5.50 an hour but it was fun as hell i had a great time

While I am not really a youth, I am working this summer. I just finished working for the summer for the Board of Ed. as a school cleaner. This week I am starting with NYC Parks and Recreation. Both jobs pay $15.77 an hour and are full time so I am happy with that.

In our school you must do community service for 75 hours to graduate.
